C55 He Was so Handsome That Shangguan Yue Was Driven Crazy!
Jiang Su gave a nod of acknowledgment.
Shangguan Yue truly lived up to his reputation as a formidable figure from a millennium ago; his discernment was certainly not lacking.
To Shangguan Yue's astonishment, Jiang Su confirmed with a nod. The Demonic Blood Kylin was notoriously savage, and he had never heard of one acknowledging an owner—especially one who was merely at the Foundation Stage!
Moreover, the lineage of the Demonic Blood Kylin had been extinct for ages. The creature had vanished from the Thousand Feet Snow Mountain a thousand years prior. How, then, did Jiang Su come into possession of such a creature?
What other secrets did Jiang Su harbor?
The Little Kylin, witnessing a shadow emerge from the sword and sensing the familiar aura of Jiang Su's storage space, was utterly perplexed.
Shangguan Yue scrutinized the Demonic Blood Kylin with such intensity it was as if he intended to dissect the creature right there.
Jiang Su empathized with Shangguan Yue's excitement; it was akin to a scientist discovering a long-extinct species miraculously brought back to life. Sensing the Little Kylin's distress, Jiang Su gently stroked the creature.
It was then that Shangguan Yue caught sight of the ring on Jiang Su's right index finger.
He smacked himself hard, convinced he was dreaming. How could Jiang Su, no matter his strength, have suddenly come into possession of the Ring of Chaos?
That was the Ring of Chaos, one of the ancient world's most formidable Immortal Weapons!
Even Shangguan Yue and Pingsheng had only ever encountered the Ring of Chaos within the pages of ancient texts.
The sound of Shangguan Yue's self-inflicted slap echoed sharply. The Little Kylin gazed at the ethereal figure with an expression akin to witnessing a madman.
Confounded, Jiang Su inquired, "Master, what's the matter?"
For a fleeting moment, Shangguan Yue's eyes clouded with bewilderment. Had his prolonged stay in the Thousand Feet Illusion dulled his wits?
Could this all be nothing but a dream?
Shangguan Yue offered no reply, lost in his reverie. Following his master's gaze, Jiang Su noticed the Ring of Chaos on his finger.
"Master, I've yet to tell you, I came across the Ring of Chaos purely by fortune."
His expression was devoid of elation or astonishment, as though he had acquired nothing more than a trinket.
Shangguan Yue fell into a long silence before finally speaking. "Jiang Su, even if you were in the Ascension stage right now, I wouldn't be surprised."
"Master, please don't jinx me. I'd like to live a few more years," Jiang Su replied.
To Jiang Su, Ascension was tantamount to death. His goal was simply to reach the Late Period of the Tribulation Crossing Stage. Anything beyond that seemed too ethereal.
After his remark, Shangguan Yue retreated into his Life Sword, sinking into a state that resembled depression, with no apparent desire to emerge again.
Jiang Su playfully tussled with Little Kylin before heaving a sigh. "System, sometimes I can't tell whether I've lived a thousand years or if it's Shangguan Yue who has."
Unsurprisingly, the system remained silent, the question falling outside its programmed capacity for response.
Jiang Su hadn't really expected an answer. He rummaged through his storage space and adorned Little Kylin with an assortment of trinkets. In no time, the creature was bedecked with an array of exquisite jewelry, treasures of immense value in the Cultivation World—gifts from Elder Chiu Yue that held no practical use for Jiang Su himself. They served perfectly, however, as decorations for Little Kylin.
Observing Little Kylin, Jiang Su pondered for a moment whether the creature was male or female. Given its undeniable cuteness, he concluded it must be female and felt all the more justified in dressing it up with the jewelry. Little Kylin offered no resistance.
"Jiang, I've delivered the clothes! And I made sure not to speak to him," Wang Tian announced upon his return. He was greeted by the sight of Little Kylin, now larger and lavishly adorned with accessories since he last saw it. Wang Tian couldn't resist and lunged to play with the creature.
Little Kylin seemed to show a hint of disdain for Wang Tian's antics but stopped short of sending him away.
Wang Tian frolicked with Little Kylin for a bit before noticing Jiang Su, who was busy sketching a formation in the air with a pen. Being a Body Cultivator, the intricacies of the formation eluded him.
The formation's white glow intensified steadily until Jiang Su put down his pen. At that moment, a vivid scene materialized out of nowhere within the room.
It was a room crafted entirely of wood.
The longer Wang Tian observed, the more it reminded him of the right wing of Sword Wing Peak, a place he had called home for so long.
Suddenly, his eyes bulged in surprise.
The figure in the image was none other than Rong Yu!
Wang Tian blurted out, "Jiang, what's this?"
Without looking up, Jiang Su leafed through 'Holding Cloud' and replied indifferently, "A surveillance formation."
"Jiang, when did you set this up? How come I didn't know about it?"
"The formation is woven into that garment."
Wang Tian was astounded. When had Jiang picked up the arts of a Talisman Cultivator? Had he somehow lost his memory?
The Talisman Cultivators would surely be disheartened if they saw this formation.
Initially, Jiang was solely a Medical Cultivator. He then expanded his expertise to become a Medical Cultivator, Sword Cultivator, and Body Cultivator, all at once. And now, he had added Talisman Cultivator to his repertoire.
In the Cultivation World, cultivators typically focus on mastering a single path to reach its pinnacle.
Yet, Jiang Su had excelled as a Medical Cultivator, Sword Cultivator, Body Cultivator, and Talisman Cultivator, all simultaneously. His proficiency in each discipline was remarkable.
Jiang truly has an extraordinary gift, Wang Tian mused.
Unaware of Wang Tian's thoughts, Jiang Su continued to read with intense focus.
Little Kylin curled up on Jiang Su's bed and drifted off to sleep.
Meanwhile, Wang Tian delved into the strategy Jiang had devised for him.
He was eager to master the Divine Body Forging Spell. Ever since Jiang Su had opened up to him, Wang Tian knew that Jiang would confront his adversary for his sake.
Wang Tian refused to be a burden to Jiang; he was determined to seek his own vengeance.
He had learned that Jiang was once a mere Inner Sect disciple of the First Devil Sect. It was at the secluded mountain where Jiang had been chosen by the Ancestral Dragon Martial Spirit. Recognizing his exceptional aptitude, Elder Chiu Yue took him under his wing. Like Wang Tian, Jiang came from humble beginnings.
Wang Tian had no intention of jeopardizing Jiang Su's promising future. The man he sought to retaliate against had a father of considerable influence within the Ten Devil Domains, someone not even Elder Chiu Yue would dare cross.
Wang Tian couldn't afford to have Jiang antagonize that individual.
He knew he had to dedicate himself to rigorous cultivation!
Once he had clarity, Wang Tian dove into his studies with fervor. His eyes blazed with an intense fire, and he murmured incantations under his breath.
Unbeknownst to him, Jiang Su had already discerned his intentions.
Jiang Su's page-turning hand paused. The formation before him was formidable. It was undetectable even to those at the Tribulation Crossing Stage, and at the nexus of the formation, its master could listen to the innermost thoughts of anyone within its sphere.
Wang Tian's every thought was laid bare to Jiang Su's ears.
Within the Ten Devil Domains, aside from the Domain Lord, no one held more sway than Elder Chiu Yue.
Jiang Su now understood who had previously harmed Wang Tian.
With resolve, Jiang Su silently vowed, "Rest easy, brother. I swear I'll seek your vengeance."
