C12 I Didn't Cheat

At that moment, all eyes were fixed on the political science class representative.

She was a bespectacled girl, slight and frail in appearance, named Hee Yue.

A modest smile graced her face, yet her eyes betrayed a sense of pride.

Her top-tier political science grades were the primary reason she had become the class representative.

Additionally, she was known for her kindness, often lending her homework to classmates for them to copy.

However, she had never extended this courtesy to Gao Mu.

In her view, Gao Mu was not only academically challenged but also financially disadvantaged.

Coming from a decent family with civil servant parents, she harbored a disdainful attitude toward those like Gao Mu, who were less fortunate in both academics and family background.

She reserved her friendliness for those who either came from wealthier families or outperformed her academically.

Liu Guowei observed Hee Yue with a slight furrow of his brow.

Of all the students in the class, she was the one he interacted with most.

To him, Hee Yue was certainly a diligent student, but far from an exemplary classmate—in fact, quite the opposite.

Amid the anticipatory stares of the class, Liu Guowei felt a twinge of regret.

He announced, "The student who nearly achieved a perfect score this time is Gao Mu!"

At his words, a hush fell over Class 6.

"This is impossible!"

"He must have cheated; there's no way he could score that high."

"Full marks? Teacher, do you really think he's capable of that?"

"Something's off with his test; he couldn't possibly have earned that score."

Surrounded by these murmurs, Gao Mu's expression darkened.

Not a single person regarded him with shock or admiration. Instead, they looked on with skepticism, mockery, and even contempt.

"Everyone, quiet down!" Liu Guowei commanded, gesturing for silence. "I've reviewed Gao Mu's exam thoroughly. There's no mistake—he truly earned a perfect score."

Yet the students remained incredulous.

Hee Yue, in particular, seemed to harbor an inexplicable fury.

"Did you cheat?" she demanded, striding up to Gao Mu with fiery eyes.

Gao Mu faced Hee Yue, feeling incredibly frustrated.

"I didn't," Gao Mu asserted, rising to meet Hee Yue's gaze.

"You didn't cheat?" Hee Yue was utterly unconvinced. Gao Mu's grades had always been poor. "Then how do you explain scoring perfectly?"

Gao Mu's brow furrowed, his eyes reflecting his anger as he faced Hee Yue.

"Because I'm excellent."

His declaration was met with laughter from the entire class.

"You? Excellent? You must have cheated on the test."

"Could you really score that high without cheating?"

"I don't care what the others think; I just don't believe him," someone chimed in.

The whole class mocked Gao Mu.

Amidst the ridicule, only Soong Yingqiu was silently rooting for him, her fists clenched in secret solidarity.

"He didn't cheat," Liu Guowei stated coldly, his gaze fixed on Hee Yue.

Hee Yue's jealousy flared, and in that moment, she trusted no one.

"Why do you say he didn't cheat?" Hee Yue's eyes bore into Liu Guowei, filled with skepticism.

Liu Guowei had never seen such an expression in Hee Yue's eyes before.

"I did not cheat," Gao Mu declared emphatically, his voice resonating with conviction.
