Gao Mu turned to look and saw Soong Yingqiu clutching a brick, her cheeks flushed with excitement.

"What are you doing here?" Gao Mu asked, furrowing his brow.

Truth be told, he felt a warmth in his heart.

Seeing Soong Yingqiu's slender frame and her reddened cheeks, Gao Mu was deeply moved. He was touched that she would stand up for him in such a situation.

When Ma Ruo caught sight of Soong Yingqiu, his eyes brightened. He shoved Gao Mu aside and strode toward her.

"You're quite beautiful!" Ma Ruo said to Soong Yingqiu with a teasing tone. "If you spend the night with me, I'll spare your lover. How about it?"

Soong Yingqiu looked down, speaking softly, "He's not my lover."

Ma Ruo burst into laughter. "Then why are you saving him? Let me be honest with you, not even a deity could save him today."

He gazed at Soong Yingqiu with eyes brimming with lust.

Honestly, Soong Yingqiu was undeniably attractive. She had a great figure, and despite her simple attire, she looked adorable.

"What?" Soong Yingqiu looked up at Ma Ruo with an almost pleading gaze.

Ma Ruo smirked and said, "Unless you spend tonight with me."

Soong Yingqiu's expression turned pale.

"Who told you to come?" Gao Mu stepped in front of Soong Yingqiu, pulling her to safety behind him. He scolded her, "This doesn't concern you. Get out of here now!"

Soong Yingqiu lifted her head, her eyes brimming with tears.

"If it means you'll be spared, I'm willing to spend the night with him," she said, her cheeks tinged with red.

Gao Mu's scalp tingled, and he shook his head at Soong Yingqiu.

"Fine," Soong Yingqiu's voice was soft, but Ma Ruo heard her clearly. At her words, a lecherous gleam appeared in his eyes. "If you spend the night with me, I'll definitely let him go."

Gao Mu completely ignored Ma Ruo, speaking to Soong Yingqiu in a very gentle tone, "We should leave. It's going to get very dangerous here soon."

"No." To Gao Mu's surprise, Soong Yingqiu shook her head with determination. A resolute expression crossed her face. "I can't let him harm you."

With a look of resignation, Gao Mu affectionately patted Soong Yingqiu's head and chuckled, "Do you really think he can hurt me?"

Soong Yingqiu appeared utterly bewildered, standing still without making a move.

Gao Mu was a mix of frustration and affection as he observed Soong Yingqiu's demeanor.

Ma Ruo bellowed, "Today, I'm definitely going to teach you a lesson!"

Without acknowledging Ma Ruo, Gao Mu turned to Soong Yingqiu with a resigned expression and advised, "If you don't want to go, that's fine. Just remember, no matter what happens, stay behind me."

Soong Yingqiu gave Gao Mu a determined look and nodded emphatically.
