C158 Rescuing People Crying out Dong It's You
Qiao Soong suddenly regretted his earlier bravado.
Earlier, while Lin Dong was assisting Xia Qinghee, he had stealthily messaged his nearby friends for backup.
They would be arriving shortly.
Currently, with his neck trapped and unable to breathe, he felt as though death was imminent.
Desperately seeking to survive, his gaze turned to Xia Qinghee for help.
"Lin Dong, don't lose control. Let go, or someone could get killed!"
Xia Qinghee rushed over and tugged at Lin Dong's arm, her eyes brimming with concern.
Her worry wasn't due to any softening of heart at Qiao Soong's desperate look.
Rather, she feared the repercussions Lin Dong might face because of her.
She didn't want Lin Dong to accidentally kill Qiao Soong on her account and face grave consequences.
Lin Dong released his foot.
Qiao Soong collapsed to the ground with a thud.
He sat there, gasping for air, suddenly appreciating the preciousness of the oxygen he'd always taken for granted.
Meanwhile, his eyes were fixed on Lin Dong, filled with sheer terror.
Lin Dong had been merciless.
Had Lin Dong's restraint come just a few seconds later, Qiao Soong feared he would have been suffocated.
After the ordeal, he no longer dared to show any arrogance towards Lin Dong.
Now, he was just waiting for his friends to arrive. With them there, he wouldn't fear Lin Dong.
He was determined to give Lin Dong a taste of his own medicine.
Lin Dong stood over the now cowering Qiao Soong, silent.
To him, Qiao Soong was nothing more than a piece of trash, unworthy of his attention.
He had indeed been impulsive. If it weren't for Xia Qinghee's intervention, he might have gone through with killing Qiao Soong.
At that moment, Xia Qinghee also breathed a sigh of relief.
She turned to Lin Dong and whispered, "Cousin, why don't we call the police? This guy will cower at the sight of officers. I'm going to move out soon; let's not stoop to his level."
"I'm not worried. This type of person only understands when you get serious. I'm curious to see who he thinks he can call for help."
Lin Dong casually slipped his hand into his pocket and spoke without a hint of fear. At that moment, his leg muscles were under such strong control that facing a dozen men single-handedly posed no issue whatsoever.
Even with a crowd of thugs summoned to the scene, Lin Dong remained confident in his ability to handle them.
Just then, a flurry of footsteps approached the entrance.
"Qiao Soong, who hit you? Tell me, and your big brother will take care of it!" a robust voice called out.
Lin Dong glanced up to see a group of people striding in from outside. They were all clad in t-shirts, but the leader stood out with a small mustache, sunglasses, and a hefty gold chain around his neck, exuding an unmistakable gangster vibe.
The others by his side also carried an air of formidable presence, most wielding baseball bats, and some even sporting knuckle dusters.
Qiao Soong, who had been playing the victim on the ground, perked up at the sight of these newcomers, especially upon spotting the leader. He immediately cried out, "Brother Hao, you've arrived! Please, you've got to help me! This guy tried to take my girlfriend and hit me. You need to break his leg for me!"
Brother Hao's gaze shifted to Lin Dong.
Xia Qinghee, gripped by anxiety, couldn't resist clutching Lin Dong's sleeve. Such a confrontation was far beyond what she, a young woman, had ever witnessed.
Yet Lin Dong remained the epitome of composure.
He was no stranger to these rough types. True strength would only be revealed in a fight.
As Lin Dong braced himself for what was to come, the leader, Hao, abruptly removed his sunglasses, stared at Lin Dong, and exclaimed in astonishment, "Dong! It's you! What brings you here?!"
