C162 Unable to Fool Her the Instructor Asked for Punishment

"How could I forget Instructor Yang's orders? I had a stomachache and got held up in the restroom. Please don't be mad, Instructor!"

Lin Dong chuckled, hoping to brush off the incident.

He certainly couldn't admit that he had sneaked off campus that morning and had even handled a fight.

Even if Lin Dong were to confess, Yang Zitan wouldn't believe him.

Might as well spin a lie to get through this!

"Spending the whole morning in the bathroom, you're quite something. What do you have in there, a cesspool? People might think you're having a rendezvous in there!"

Yang Zitan was clearly not one to be easily deceived.

She unleashed a torrent of scolding.

Lin Dong felt somewhat resigned; Yang Zitan was known for her fiery temper.

By comparison, Zhang Xinrui's stern seriousness seemed almost preferable!

"Instructor, I realize I was wrong," Lin Dong conceded.

He really wanted to dismiss Yang Zitan, but despite her volatile temper, she was a good person, fiercely loyal.

If any of her students were bullied by those from other classes, she'd confront the offenders without hesitation, scolding them to their faces, undeterred even if their instructor showed up.

This earned her a mix of fear and respect from everyone.

Lin Dong, coming from a humble background, had faced his share of difficulties, and Yang Zitan had stood up for him.

So, while he could dismiss anyone else or give them the cold shoulder, he couldn't bring himself to stand up to Yang Zitan.

Besides, Lin Dong was the one who had broken his promise, so he had to endure the consequences.

"You think you're in the wrong? You probably believe I'm the one at fault! Why didn't you follow instructions when I called roll? And now I can't call you out on it? You've got some nerve, not showing up all morning. Do you think that just because I've been away for a few days, I wouldn't dare to confront you?"

Yang Zitan scolded him yet again.

Lin Dong didn't show any anger.

He stood there, simply listening, with no other option.

At that moment, Lin Dong resolved to remain silent and not utter another word.

Let Yang Zitan rant if she must!

Lin Dong refrained from retorting, knowing that once Yang Zitan had vented her frustration, all would be well.

Yang Zitan had finished her piece.

She opened her eyes wide and fixed her gaze on Lin Dong, challenging him, "Not talking anymore? Are you resisting in silence, huh?"

"I'm not."

Lin Dong replied, a hint of resignation in his voice.

"That's hard to believe. Listen, Lin Dong, I thought you were just being undisciplined, and I was willing to let it slide. But you didn't show up all morning, and when you finally did, you had the nerve to look indifferent. I'm not going to let it go that easily!"

Yang Zitan's lips pursed, setting a stern tone for the situation.

Lin Dong was taken aback and managed to say, "Hey, Instructor Yang, this is..."

"After lunch, come back here and find me. We need to take a walk. Now, get out," Yang Zitan commanded bluntly.

She didn't allow Lin Dong any time to respond.

Lin Dong pursed his lips, ultimately accepting his fate, and turned to leave the room.

Yang Zitan was assertive in her approach, and Lin Dong knew better than to argue; it would likely only make things worse.

He decided it was best not to offer any explanations and simply comply with Yang Zitan's orders.

Yang Zitan's voice followed him once more, "Remember, come back after lunch. I'll be waiting. If you stand me up again, you'll regret it!"

Her voice, slightly raspy, seemed to resonate in Lin Dong's ears, causing a slight tremor in his heart.

Yang Zitan's voice was indeed distinctive and charismatic.

But the implications of her words weighed heavily on Lin Dong. All he could do was turn back, nod in acknowledgment to Yang Zitan, and then make his full departure.

Once outside, he breathed a sigh of relief.

Facing Yang Zitan had been an oppressive experience.

Now, he couldn't help but wonder what Yang Zitan had in store for him that afternoon.

Surely she wasn't planning to scold him again?

Could that possibly be enjoyable?

With these questions lingering, Lin Dong headed toward the classroom, his expression clouded with uncertainty.
