"Oh no!"

The two assassins in the room, caught in the sudden illumination, frantically raised their hands to shield their faces. They were killers who thrived in the shadows, meant to silently eliminate their target. Now, under the revealing light, they were visibly uncomfortable. Though they covered their faces, Lin Dong could still make out their forms. Both were clad in tight black attire, resembling divers in their snug suits. The outfits hugged their frames, accentuating their abdominal muscles and the brawn of their arms. They certainly had the physiques to pull off such a look!

Lin Dong stood at the doorway, arms folded across his chest, eyeing them with a hint of amusement. "No need to cover up; I've already seen your faces," he said, his voice steady and composed.

Having dodged the initial threat, Lin Dong's nerves had settled. The pair might look formidable, but he knew they were only a threat to the average person. He was far from frightened.

At Lin Dong's words, the assassins' expressions shifted. They reluctantly lowered their hands. Lin Dong let out a chuckle, "There we have it—one with a sharp, simian jaw and the other sporting a beard."

"You..."

The assassins glared at him, realizing they'd been duped. Lin Dong hadn't actually seen their faces; he had bluffed to get them to reveal themselves. Now that they had dropped their guard, Lin Dong took the opportunity to study them closely. They wanted to cover up again, but the moment had passed, and they felt foolish. They stood there, eyes flickering with uncertainty.

"Who sent you? Why are you trying to kill me?" Lin Dong asked.

The assassins exchanged a glance. One, with a fierce look in his eye, retorted, "You'll die before you get an answer!" With that, he lunged at Lin Dong with his dagger drawn. The other assassin followed suit, brandishing his weapon.

"Ding! Host has activated the random quest: Eliminate the Assassins!"

"The strong must stand and fight. In the face of assassination, one must counter and annihilate to assert dominance!"

"Reward upon mission completion??? (Claimable after completing the mission)"

"Let the show begin!"

The system had issued a new mission to Lin Dong. His eyes sparkled with anticipation. He had no intention of sparing the assailants before him, but the timely arrival of this new challenge from the system was an unexpected twist.

Recognizing the situation, Lin Dong decided to go all out!

He eyed the assassins approaching him, quickly assessed the situation, and zeroed in on the one leading the charge. With a swift motion, he bent forward and surged ahead.

As his fist connected, the impact resonated across the assassin's face.

The assassin, startled, quickly rolled away to evade further blows, simultaneously lifting his dagger to slice at Lin Dong.

If Lin Dong didn't halt, he would be slashed by the sharp blade.

Lin Dong abruptly came to a stop and launched a kick. Accompanied by a swooshing sound, his foot found its target on the assassin's torso.

The assassin hadn't anticipated Lin Dong's impressive skills!

In his astonishment, he trembled, then was propelled backward by the powerful kick.

"Crash!"

He slammed against the wall and rebounded off it.

Lin Dong withdrew his leg.

Just then, a shadowy figure emerged from behind, brandishing a gleaming dagger aimed directly at the nape of Lin Dong's neck, thrusting it with lethal intent!

If the strike landed, Lin Dong would surely meet his end.
