C186 Cousin Asked for a License and She Gave Him the South of the City
"The Lin Family started this," Lin Dong muttered to himself.
His voice went unheard by anyone else.
The Lin Family had crossed a line by sending assassins after him, and it had infuriated him.
Lin Dong's decision to release the two assassins wasn't out of charity.
He intended to send a message through them to the Lin Family member behind the hit: Watch your back!
Lin Dong was no one's easy target.
The river had quieted, and the assassins were long gone.
Lin Dong made his way back into the villa.
He wasn't in the mood to rest; instead, he settled into the living room to watch a movie.
It wasn't until the sun was high the next morning that he finally rose.
He felt refreshed and wide awake, his unease about the Lin Family's attack and the mysterious woman's contact keeping sleep at bay.
Plus, the fact that the lead assassin had died in his bedroom was unsettling.
Lin Dong was ready to put the house on the market.
He had no desire to stay in a place where he could be ambushed from the river at any moment.
The ringtone of his phone broke the silence.
Glancing at the caller ID, Lin Dong saw it was his cousin, Xia Qinghee.
"What's going on, cousin?" he answered.
"Cousin, remember we were supposed to get the license for the rental company today? Are you heading out?" Xia Qinghee's voice came through.
Lin Dong slapped his forehead, having nearly forgotten.
"Sure, I'm on my way. Just wait for me at your place," he responded.
After the call, he freshened up with a shower, changed into a fresh outfit, and headed to the garage.
Inside were two vehicles: a Rolls Royce Cullinan and a Pagani Huayran.
Opting not to take the sports car since he was going for the license, Lin Dong chose the Rolls Royce Cullinan and drove off toward Xia Qinghee's home.
As the grand Rolls Royce Cullinan approached the gated community, the guards snapped to attention and swiftly opened the electronic gate, allowing him to exit smoothly.
Upon arriving at the entrance, Lin Dong noticed the security captain standing next to the electric gate and rolled down his window.
The security captain did a double-take.
The Rolls Royce Cullinan's tinted windows had concealed Lin Dong from view.
Nor had he anticipated that Lin Dong would be behind the wheel of a Rolls Royce Cullinan.
Upon recognizing Lin Dong, he promptly approached and saluted, "What can I do for you, Mr. Lin?"
Lin Dong tapped the door and addressed the security captain, "I forgot to register my car. Take down the license plate number and help me with the registration, so you won't need to manually operate the electronic gate in the future."
The security captain nodded eagerly and dashed to the front of the car to snap a photo.
Afterward, he gestured forward with a smile and said, "Have a good one, Mr. Lin!"
"Thank you."
Lin Dong nodded and drove off, turning onto the road outside the main gate.
Once he was gone, the security captain, no longer all smiles, resumed his post.
A junior security guard inquired, "Hey, Captain, what kind of car is that? It looks so luxurious!"
"It's beyond luxurious; it's top-tier. That's a Rolls Royce Cullinan, a multimillion-dollar luxury vehicle!" the security captain explained with an exaggerated expression.
The junior guard's eyes widened in amazement.
