"Who is Qian Daloong?"

"He's actually dining off-campus? Must be quite the event!"

"Lin, what happened to you this morning?"

Tian Chao, Liu Wenming, and Zhou Hang Yu all looked at Lin Dong with astonishment.

Lin Dong hadn't shared the morning's events with them.

As a result, their faces were etched with confusion.

Lin Dong chose not to disclose the details, as the timing wasn't right.

Earlier, Jiang Keke had warned Lin Dong that Qian Daloong was vindictive and harbored a sinister streak.

Lin Dong figured that an apology from him was unlikely!

If he offered an apology, it would surely be part of some scheme.

Jiang Keke had advised Lin Dong not to attend the banquet, as it could be a setup for revenge by Qian Daloong.

"Ding! Host, you have activated a random mission: Attend the appointment solo!"

"Let the show begin!"

The system announced a mission.

Lin Dong was taken aback, not expecting a mission at this juncture.

But he saw it as a positive development.

He was aware that Qian Daloong wouldn't back down easily.

Instead of dealing with continuous problems, better to resolve the issue once and for all!

By thoroughly dealing with Qian Daloong, he could look forward to some peace.

Otherwise, constant disruptions, though not frightening to Lin Dong, were certainly annoying!

With his mind made up, Lin Dong responded to the boy who had invited him, "Alright, if Qian Daloong is extending such a sincere invitation, I'll go and accept the apology."

Upon his acceptance, the inviting boy's eyes revealed a cold gleam.

He silently mused, You want to accept an apology? We'll see how you fare once you're there!

But he kept these thoughts to himself, instead offering a disingenuous smile and saying, "Then please, follow me, and I'll take you there."

Lin Dong nodded in agreement.

At that moment, Liu Wenming chimed in, "Lin, that's not very brotherly of you. When someone else is offering a meal, why not bring your friends along?"

Tian Chao agreed, adding, "Exactly, it would be so much better if we all went together."

"Let's not go today," Lin Dong responded.

He gave them a reassuring smile and clapped Tian Chao on the shoulder, saying, "Just head to the kitchen and grab a bite. Let me know how much it costs, and I'll cover it. Consider this meal on me!"

"Wow, Lin, you're really generous!"

"Okay then, we won't tag along."

"Just make sure to bring us back something tasty."

"Are you kidding? Lin is being treated by someone else. It would be so embarrassing to ask him to pack leftovers."

"Exactly! I don't want to embarrass Lin on your behalf!"

"Fine, we'll just eat in the kitchen."

The three friends teased each other a bit.

The guy who was supposed to accompany Lin Dong looked visibly annoyed. Lin Dong had already agreed to attend the banquet, and yet these three were still rambling on. What was the point?

As he was on the verge of losing his patience, Lin Dong intervened, "Alright, you guys go ahead. I'll probably be back shortly anyway."

"Why come back so soon? If someone's inviting you to dinner, it's bound to be lavish. Make sure you eat plenty," Liu Wenming advised from the sidelines.

Lin Dong just smiled and nodded in acknowledgment. Liu Wenming was unaware of the actual situation at the banquet; for all he knew, Lin Dong might not even be offered a cup of tea.

Lin Dong then nodded to the guy leading the way and said, "Go ahead, lead the way."
