C288 Qian Daloong Was Beaten up Badly by His Manager

Wang Chengshu's demeanor was strikingly humble as he spoke, a far cry from the authoritative air he usually carried as the big brother. The contrast with his earlier bravado was stark.

Lin Dong couldn't help but crack a slight smile at the sight. Hands in his pockets, he fixed his gaze on Wang Chengshu and remarked, "Really? You seem to be quite chummy with Qian Daloong."

"Dong, you're pulling my leg, right? Qian Daloong is just a client of mine. He came to me about some trouble at school, asking for help with a rival. I figured he was dealing with a typical schoolyard tyrant—no big deal for me to handle a student. Had I known his adversary was you, I wouldn't have given him the time of day! I would've set him straight a long time ago!" Wang Chengshu exclaimed, his frustration palpable.

As he spoke, Wang Chengshu felt as though he was bleeding inside. Qian Daloong had promised him a hefty fee of two hundred thousand, with another two hundred thousand on top—that was a total of four hundred thousand! It was nearly his yearly income, and the thought of losing such a substantial sum was unbearable.

Yet, when weighed against crossing Lin Dong, the money seemed trivial. After all, a beating from Lin Dong could leave him bedridden for an extended period. Wang Chengshu was well aware of the stakes involved.

Lin Dong, listening to Wang Chengshu's explanation, understood his motives all too well but chose to remain silent. Instead, he gestured towards Qian Daloong and said, "You've got the right idea. Since you were unaware, I won't hold it against you. But you know what you need to do moving forward."

"Absolutely! Crystal clear!" Wang Chengshu nodded emphatically.

He had no intention of making an enemy of Lin Dong, which meant he had to turn his back on Qian Daloong. Given that Qian Daloong was an outsider with shallow local roots and limited power, Wang Chengshu felt no pressure in crossing him.

He steeled his gaze and strode over to Qian Daloong's side. Qian Daloong had been standing there, dumbfounded, for quite some time. He had just asked Wang Chengshu to confront Lin Dong, and to his astonishment, Wang Chengshu had scurried over to apologize to Lin Dong, groveling even more than a subordinate. Then, right in front of Qian Daloong, Wang Chengshu declared that he and Lin Dong had no association whatsoever. This was the same Wang Chengshu who had previously been so chummy, always addressing him as "Young Master Long" with great affection. During their exchange, Wang Chengshu even hinted at siding with Lin Dong against him. What was happening?

Wasn't Wang Chengshu the toughest thug around? Why was he so intimidated by a mere student like Lin Dong? It made no sense to him. Seeing Wang Chengshu approaching, Qian Daloong prepared to confront him and demand an explanation. But as he took a step forward, Wang Chengshu, who was walking toward him, suddenly swung his arm and hurled a punch at Qian Daloong's face!

Qian Daloong was taken aback. He tried to dodge, but it was too late. A resounding thud echoed as Wang Chengshu's fist struck his face with force, sending him reeling. Wang Chengshu showed no restraint; his punch knocked Qian Daloong off balance, and he tumbled to the ground with a heavy thump. The students who had followed Qian Daloong were left in shock. Wang Chengshu had been summoned by Qian Daloong, yet he was the one delivering a blow to Qian Daloong's head!

After landing the punch, Wang Chengshu decided to embrace his role as the antagonist fully. He raised his foot and kicked Qian Daloong viciously, while shouting, "You're nothing but trash! How dare you cross Dong? Do you have a death wish? I'll beat you senseless, you dog! You nearly wrecked my relationship with Dong!" His tirade was merciless, and soon Qian Daloong's body was riddled with the marks of his shoes.

But Wang Chengshu's fury was far from quenched. He grabbed a wooden plank from nearby, hoisted it high, and brought it crashing down onto Qian Daloong.

With a sharp snap, the small wooden board shattered.

Qian Daloong screamed loudly, writhing on the ground with his face caked in grime, looking utterly defeated.

He had taken a severe beating.
