C300 Lin Dong Ask Your Manager to Meet Me
The waitress was taken aback.
She hadn't anticipated Chung Xiong's response.
But she was quick to recover, replying, "Certainly, sir, I understand."
The customer always comes first!
Since Chung Xiong was footing the bill, his word was law.
After the tickets were purchased, Chung Xiong, guided by the waitress, returned to the group and gestured, "Let's head out. Ladies first, gentlemen follow. Let's show some class!"
"Sure thing! We'll follow Brother Xiong's lead!"
Everyone agreed.
Zhang Xinrui furrowed her brow and glanced at Lin Dong, whispering, "You're okay, right?"
Lin Dong offered a reassuring smile. "I'm not a kid. Go ahead. Your bestie is calling for you."
Ruan Qingqing approached, signaling, "Xinrui, let's go! Take your seat on the yacht. Lin Dong can join the other guys!"
Zhang Xinrui was somewhat concerned but departed nonetheless.
The girls boarded the yacht and set off toward the island.
Only the boys remained.
Chung Xiong, encircled by his peers, cast a dark look towards Lin Dong.
He chuckled inwardly.
Lin Dong had embarrassed him repeatedly, and now he had his chance for payback!
Without a ticket, Lin Dong was stuck.
Unless he bought his own, which was unlikely given the steep price of 5,000 yuan, Lin Dong wouldn't be going anywhere.
Let him stand here and enjoy the breeze!
Chung Xiong couldn't help but laugh at the thought.
Without Lin Dong, he'd have the opportunity to get closer to Zhang Xinrui and Ruan Qingqing on the island and maybe even win them over!
The thought alone brought a smile to Chung Xiong's face.
Now it was the boys' turn to board the yacht.
They jostled for position.
Preferring to avoid the crush, Lin Dong hung back.
As he attempted to board, the waitress stopped him.
"Sorry, sir, but without a ticket, you can't take the yacht to the island," she informed him.
Lin Dong's brow creased in concern.
He turned his gaze to Chung Xiong.
Chung Xiong slapped his forehead and exclaimed, "Oh, my apologies, Lin Dong. When I was paying earlier, I miscounted and didn't get a ticket for you. Why don't you wait here? I'll go to the island and get everyone settled, then I'll come back and sort out your ticket."
His intention to single out Lin Dong was clear.
The other guys there weren't fools; they could see what was happening.
But since they were all classmates of Chung Xiong and had the opportunity to enjoy Moor Water Manor thanks to him, none wanted to upset Chung Xiong on Lin Dong's behalf, so they remained silent.
Even if they felt sorry for Lin Dong, they only offered silent apologies.
With a light chuckle, Lin Dong, hands in his pockets, responded, "No problem, you go ahead. I'll make my own way over later."
"Great, then wait here. I'll send someone to fetch you soon!" Chung Xiong said insincerely, then hurriedly set the boat in motion.
As the yacht pulled away, Chung Xiong glanced back at Lin Dong on the dock, smirking to himself.
He had no intention of getting Lin Dong a ticket. The idea that Lin Dong would find his own way was laughable to him.
Chung Xiong believed Lin Dong had taken his words at face value.
However, Lin Dong knew something Chung Xiong didn't: the property belonged to him. He could access it anytime without paying a dime.
"Sir, would you like to purchase a ticket?" inquired the waitress.
She was the same one who had accompanied Chung Xiong to buy tickets, and it was obvious that Chung Xiong had no plans to include Lin Dong, much less buy him a ticket.
If Lin Dong wanted to cross over now, he would have to buy his own ticket.
Lin Dong shook his head, "No need."
The waitress gave him a disdainful look and said with a forced smile, "Sir, it seems your friend doesn't want to take you along. You'll be waiting until everyone returns. Are you sure you don't want to buy a ticket?"
"I'm sure," Lin Dong replied firmly. "Please have your manager come to see me."
