C35 Pretentious Guests Were Left out and They Bore a Grudge Against Lin Dong
"Do you have headphones?" Lin Dong inquired.
He had just realized, upon opening his phone, that the box disappointingly didn't include any headphones.
Skimping on headphones, stingy Crazy Love manufacturers!
Lin Dong resolved to never buy Crazy Love again—it was nothing but junk!
Had it not been for his aversion to returning purchases, and the fact that he had already activated his phone number, he would have definitely rejected it outright!
Lin Dong finished speaking.
The phone store manager perked up, turned to the cashier, and commanded, "Quick, bring out some earphones for this gentleman. Let him pick!"
"Right away!"
The staff hustled into action.
They all wanted to bask in the aura of a billionaire, so each one presented an option for Lin Dong to choose from.
In the end, Lin Dong selected a black pair of earphones.
The clerk whose pair he chose blushed with excitement as he reached for them!
The phone shop staff held Lin Dong in such high regard.
They treated him as if he were a VIP, astonishing the other customers.
At first, everyone had watched Lin Dong with his old phone, swapping SIM cards, and some even suspected he might snatch a phone and dash.
To their surprise, Lin Dong paid on the spot.
But it was the sudden shift in the staff's demeanor after the payment that was most startling—they all flocked to Lin Dong.
The clerk who handed over the earphones was so thrilled, her cheeks flushed with pride, as if she were bestowing a prestigious award!
What was happening?
The customers were clueless that the staff and the manager had caught a glimpse of Lin Dong's billion-dollar balance alert.
The previously haughty couple was now in a foul mood.
They had been ostentatious, boasting about buying the priciest phone, basking in the staff's eager attention and the envious glances from other shoppers.
They had felt so superior.
But now, all the employees, even the manager, were crowding around Lin Dong, a man in plain attire.
This was a blow to their egos!
Especially for the man.
He believed that he should be the center of attention!
"Hey! Are you still selling phones, or what?" he demanded.
The man sporting the designer watch bellowed loudly.
The woman next to him also amped up her volume, exclaiming, "What's the big deal? Some poor guy scrimps and saves to show off with a new phone, and this is how you treat him?!"
Whoosh!
Every employee in the phone store, including the manager, turned to look at the woman.
Their expressions were a mix of confusion and amusement.
Clearly, the woman hadn't caught a glimpse of the balance notification on Lin Dong's phone. A poor kid? More like a freaking billionaire!
Anyone with over a hundred million in cash likely has assets worth at least ten times that in cash!
Shouldn't someone of that stature be treated with the utmost attention, rather than fussing over these two?
The woman, her makeup vibrant, felt a sudden constriction in her chest under their stares.
What was this look they were giving her? It was a blend of ridicule, hilarity, and a host of other sentiments that she found unbearable. She couldn't fathom why she was being viewed in such a light.
Eventually, the store manager delegated the task of attending to her to a staff member with a ponytail.
The ponytailed staff member approached promptly, but her enthusiasm was lacking. She mustered a professional, albeit forced, smile and inquired about the type of phone they were interested in.
Yet, her gaze kept drifting over to Lin Dong.
It seemed as long as Lin Dong was there, her attention would be inextricably drawn to him.
"Hey! Are you going to pick up the phone or not?" the man asked, peering over the counter.
The female clerk gave a noncommittal hum and casually grabbed a phone, saying, "Sir, this is our most expensive model, with 245G of memory, for $9,400."
Her energy was clearly flagging.
The man's expression soured.
The girl beside him quickly retorted, "Forget it, we're not buying. What a lackluster service. Honey, let's try another store!"
With that, the man strode off, flinging his arm dismissively and huffing, "Fine! We'll go elsewhere! Ordinary folks get all the warm welcomes, while wealthy clients are left out in the cold. It's no wonder a store like this struggles with sales!"
He threw a scathing glance at Lin Dong as he spoke.
All because of Lin Dong, a man of unremarkable fashion sense, he had been humiliated!
And with that, he harbored a deep resentment towards Lin Dong.
