C73 The Match Began and the Backup Team Entered the Stadium

Break time had ended, and Lin Dong, along with his buddies, headed to class. Liu Wenming was fixing his hair as he walked, looking every bit like a young man prepping for a blind date. Tian Chao couldn't resist teasing, "Stop fussing with your hair. Liu Meili won't fall for you. If she falls for anyone, it'll be Lin Dong!" Zhou Hengyu chimed in, "Exactly. It's important to be self-aware!"

Lin Dong couldn't help but smile at the playful ribbing from his friends, though he remained silent. Liu Wenming, full of pride, tossed his hair and declared, "The goddess of my heart isn't shallow. Once she sees the beauty of my soul, anything's possible!"

Lin Dong, Tian Chao, and Zhou Hengyu couldn't help but scoff and gave Liu Wenming the middle finger in jest. Unfazed by the intense gaze of his friends, Liu Wenming strutted into the classroom. Lin Dong and the others followed suit and took their seats.

"Lin Dong, Wang Chengxin hasn't been bothering you, has he?" Ma Chenchen asked, leaning in as soon as they sat down. She was seated right in front of Lin Dong, easily able to converse by turning around. Today, Ma Chenchen had her hair tied back in a ponytail, which added a lively charm to her appearance, though it softened her usual grace.

Lin Dong shook his head. "No, I don't think he'll bother me anymore." He had never considered Wang Chengxin a threat; the man's level was simply too low to be on Lin Dong's radar.

Still concerned, Ma Chenchen warned, "You should still be careful. Wang Chengxin's family owns a company with assets in the millions. He has a cousin who's involved with some shady characters. He might seek revenge."

Tian Chao reassured her, "No need to worry. Lin Dong's got my protection. He's in safe hands!"

Ma Chenchen shot him a skeptical look. "Yeah, right. If it weren't for Lin Dong's quick thinking yesterday, Yan Zhuang would have turned on you and left Wang Chengxin to beat you black and blue!"

Unperturbed, Tian Chao flexed his muscles defiantly. "Him? I could take on two at a time!"

Ma Chenchen simply wrinkled her nose, dismissing the conversation. Lin Dong then added, "It's fine. We live in a society governed by law. I'm not leaving campus, so he can't touch me. Besides, Tian Chao has a competition this afternoon. If you're free, come join the support team. I'll also invite Tian Meihui."

"Tian Meihui? She's known as the fiery little enchantress, always up for a good time. Lin Dong, you actually managed to get her to come?"

Tian Chao was flabbergasted.

At the party that day, he, along with Liu Wenming and Zhou Hengyu, arrived late and missed Tian Meihui.

Zhou Hengyu, with a wistful look, said, "I wish I could do that."

Liu Wenming chimed in with envy, "Too bad I don't have that kind of charm!"

Lin Dong chose to remain silent.

He knew better than to give these jokers any more fodder for their teasing!

Tian Chao, however, was thrilled. The more the merrier in the support team, and with so many beautiful women making an appearance, he was the envy of all the guys!

Ma Chenchen suddenly asked with suspicion, "Lin Dong, how did you end up in contact with Tian Meihui?"

"It was at the mixer. As I was leaving, she caught up to me asking for my WeChat. Since she had helped me out, I added her right away," Lin Dong explained nonchalantly.

This reaction was a stark contrast to her earlier concern for Lin Dong, leaving him unsure of what to say next.

The class began.

Zhang Xinrui, still in her long black skirt, approached the lectern with a stern expression.

She glanced at Lin Dong, seated in his usual spot, and let out an almost imperceptible huff before commencing the lecture.

The class went on without Zhang Xinrui singling out Lin Dong, much to his relief.

He was just glad she didn't use the opportunity to seek revenge!

After the afternoon classes, Tian Chao headed to the sports field first.

Liu Wenming and Zhou Hengyu followed suit.

Lin Dong, left to pack up their belongings alone, returned them to the dorm before hurrying off to the sports field himself.
