C17 The Furious Yang Family

Although Lin Mengyao had managed to get some retribution today, it seemed inevitable that Lin Qing and his son would soon begin their full-scale retaliation. Tang Hao's sole option was to protect Lin Mengyao as best as he could and assist her in securing some entitlements. That was the extent of it. To truly turn the tide, he would need to rely on tangible power; without it, all plans were mere illusions. Besides, Lin Mengyao was currently as vulnerable as a kitten, hardly in a position to vie with Lin Xinguo and his son for the family fortune. It was all up to Tang Hao.

Sighing deeply, Tang Hao couldn't decide whether having such a naively sweet wife was a stroke of luck or misfortune. Lin Mengyao, witnessing the lengths Tang Hao went to for her, taking on formidable adversaries, all for her sake, and still fretting over her safety, felt genuine affection for the first time. Such care had never come from her own parents. She had found it in a husband she had barely known for a couple of days, someone she had practically stumbled upon.

For the first time, Lin Mengyao experienced a warmth that radiated from within, a sensation of pure happiness. She tiptoed closer to Tang Hao's cheek and planted a quick kiss, then retreated as swiftly as she had approached, bashfully cocooning herself in the blankets, leaving only one eye peeking out at Tang Hao. Caught off guard by Lin Mengyao's impromptu gesture, Tang Hao paused, then turned to look at her with a playful grin.

"Hehe, little lady, if you're going to kiss me, do it with confidence. We're husband and wife, after all; there's no need to be shy," he teased, his heart fluttering at the sight of Lin Mengyao's endearing shyness. He couldn't deny his fondness for Lin Mengyao, feeling his heart stir. Perhaps it was her genuine purity and kindness that moved him.

Then, a thunderous crash echoed through the office. The chairman's desk at Qrapo Group had been smashed, leaving a gaping hole.

"Damn it, Tang Hao really has some nerve, daring to lay a hand on my son," Yang Wenfeng fumed. He had sustained serious injuries and had been rushed to the hospital in Jaafmont the night before.

Lin Xinguo and his companions were transported back to the city in an ambulance. Despite their discomfort, the Yang family was seething with rage. Lin Xinguo and the others incessantly explained and apologized to Yang Yue, the chairman of Qrapo, placing all the blame on Tang Hao. They stressed that Tang Hao was a patient recently discharged from a mental institution. Yang Wenfeng had been looking for Lin Mengyao when Tang Hao, who was with her, attacked him. The Lin family claimed they had no involvement whatsoever.

Thanks to the Lin family's persistent efforts, they successfully shifted Yang Yue's focus solely onto Tang Hao, sparing themselves as mere onlookers. Yang Yue, having seen the wildly circulating video, was furious at the sight of Tang Hao forcefully shoving an entire suckling pig into his beloved son's mouth, causing his blood pressure to skyrocket. Upon seeing Yang Wenfeng's face bandaged like a mummy, Yang Yue was so enraged that it took him a considerable amount of time to regain his composure.

The doctor's report left Yang Yue shaking. Yang Wenfeng's facial muscles were severely damaged, with both sides completely torn, and his lower jaw suffered a comminuted fracture. Although it was possible to reconstruct it with artificial bones, it wouldn't function as well as the original. His trachea and throat had also sustained significant compression and tearing, but these injuries were repairable.

What Yang Yue found most unbearable was the fact that, despite the possibility of repair, Yang Wenfeng was likely to be left disfigured, resembling a grotesque creature with an unnaturally wide jaw, akin to a crocodile's. His lower jaw was much broader than his upper jaw, a condition that was irreparable even with plastic surgery. If he wanted to maintain a normal appearance, he would have to forfeit his ability to chew, surviving only on liquids for the rest of his life. Regardless of the outcome, the damage to Yang Wenfeng was permanent.

Qrapo, while not the leading corporation in Jaafmont, was still a significant player in the city's business landscape.

The financial clout and influence of the Yang family were leagues beyond what a third-tier family like the Lin family could hope to match. Yang Yue had become a father later in life, and although his son Yang Wenfeng wasn't the most handsome, he was still his flesh and blood. Despite being safe and sound, Yang Wenfeng was the sole heir to the Qrapo empire, and his looks were less than favorable. Now with a face that could be likened to a crocodile's, finding a wife might not be a concern, but the thought of public embarrassment certainly was for Yang Yue. It seemed the only solution was to try for another child, though the odds of success were uncertain. But for now, revenge was the priority.

"Someone find Tang Hao for me. Kill him! Damn it, he dared to harm my son. I'll show him what a real nightmare is," Yang Yue bellowed.

"Yes, Mr. Yang," a few young men replied, promptly departing from the Qrapo headquarters.

That morning, Tang Hao and Lin Mengyao were playfully nurturing their marital bond when Mengyao's phone suddenly rang.

"Hello, this is Lin Qing. We're having a family meeting. You have ten minutes to get to the Lin Group," Lin Qing stated before abruptly hanging up.

Mengyao turned to Tang Hao. "They're summoning us."

"Let's go then. If it's good fortune, we'll welcome it; if it's misfortune, we can't hide. Whatever's coming will come," Tang Hao said, surprisingly upbeat.

Tang Hao, with Lin Quansheng and Mengyao in tow, drove towards the Lin Group building. Although Quansheng's house was quite a distance from the Lin Group, typically a journey of over thirty minutes, Tang Hao's swift driving cut it down to just thirteen.

The Lin Group, situated in the bustling commercial district at the heart of Jaafmont, was a substantial enterprise. With three office buildings, the Lin Group's primary focus was on industrial economics, engaging in wholesale, retail, and food processing. In Jaafmont, the company was well-regarded, boasting over ten subsidiary brands.

As Tang Hao pulled up to the entrance of the Lin Group, the next chapter of their day was about to unfold.

Several security guards converged on them.

"Who are you here to see?"

"We're members of the Lin family here for a meeting. Open the gate."

"Members of the Lin family? I don't recognize you. If you want to enter, you'll need to step out of the car for an inspection."

Two disheveled security guards, wielding batons, eyed Tang Hao and his companions with clear malice.

Being part of the Lin Group's security, how could they possibly not recognize Lin Mengyao and Lin Quansheng?

Especially since Lin Quansheng was the former patriarch. It was inconceivable that they wouldn't know him.

Tang Hao quickly realized what was happening.

These guards were likely following someone's orders to deliberately stir up trouble here.
