When Roya saw the wings of light on Noel's back spread open and protect her, the feeling in his heart was indescribable.

He had thought about Noel's possible actions before. Maybe it was to calmly communicate, or to increase the distance between them to guard against it, or maybe it was to be forced to fight, but in all his expectations, this was not the case.
