C11 Weapon Upgrade
"Master, it seems he bears you no malice!" The Golden Book suddenly materialized, whispering.
"You must be joking. I turned his brother into a pig-faced mess. If he's not here for vengeance, what's he here for?"
Woo Yang was utterly unconvinced by the Golden Book's words, suspecting that it was trying to hasten his demise.
Frustrated by this, the Golden Book fell silent, leaving Woo Yang to confront the unfolding situation on his own.
"How did you manage that?"
Woo Tieh seemed oblivious to Woo Yang's defensive stance and instead, pointed at the meteor hammer on the ground with a look of genuine curiosity.
He had just witnessed the once unimposing meteor hammer radiate an aura of unprecedented power under Woo Yang's manipulation, sparking Woo Tieh's curiosity.
"What do you want? If you're here to avenge Woo Tong, just try it. I'm not scared of you."
Woo Yang, seemingly ignoring Woo Tieh's words, kept his gaze fixed on him, his guard fully up.
Woo Tieh, noting Woo Yang's wariness, advanced slowly with a hint of resignation.
"Don't come any closer. Take one more step and I won't hold back."
Woo Yang retreated, his voice escalating with alarm at Woo Tieh's approach.
Woo Tieh chuckled, standing his ground. "I've reached the Fifth Layer of the Qi Stage, while you're only at the Third. Are you sure you can take me on?"
"If the Master engages him, it could be fatal. Are you certain you want to fight?"
The previously vanished Golden Book reappeared, its tone exuding an air of fatalistic humor.
"Be quiet; I don't want to hear another word from you."
Woo Yang barked, inwardly fuming at the Golden Book's lack of support and its penchant for stinging remarks.
"Let's not fight. I mean you no harm; I'm simply intrigued by how you've turned these bits of junk into something formidable."
Despite being taken aback by Woo Yang's outburst, Woo Tieh remained determined to uncover the secret he sought.
"Sorry, no comment," Woo Yang said coolly, sparing Woo Tieh only a brief glance without a hint of courtesy.
Woo Tieh was momentarily taken aback, hardly recognizing the once timid Woo Yang who now dared to address him so boldly. Yet, he had no desire to make an enemy of Woo Yang, especially after witnessing his recent conduct, which had earned his grudging admiration.
Removing the Wind Wolf Sword from his back, Woo Tieh looked on with anticipation. "Could you enhance my Wind Wolf Sword? It would multiply my combat strength in the upcoming Battle of Five Years."
Woo Yang had been inclined to refuse, but part of him was eager to test the extent of his skills as a Dao Pattern Master and see how much he could improve the sword.
Crafted from the spine of a Rank Two Gale Wolf, the Wind Wolf Sword was a weapon of ordinary make, reserved for the rare talents within the family. Woo Yang had once been envious of Woo Tieh for possessing such an armament.
"You're not planning to hit me, are you?" Woo Yang asked, needing to be sure for his own peace of mind.
Woo Tieh chuckled and extended the Wind Wolf Sword toward Woo Yang. If Woo Tieh had any intention of striking him, Woo Yang knew he wouldn't stand a chance with his cultivation at the Third Layer of the Qi Stage.
Assured that Woo Tieh harbored no thoughts of violence, Woo Yang carefully accepted the sword. It felt extraordinary in his grasp, a stark contrast to the lesser blades that lay upon the earth.
Settling into a meditative pose, Woo Yang closed his eyes and allowed his Spirit Power to flow, immersing himself in the familiar, wondrous sensation. Woo Tieh stood by, watchful and silent, guarding Woo Yang as he worked.
The sword's blade gleamed with renewed vigor as the first Dao Pattern was etched upon it. Sensing the sword's burgeoning aura, Woo Yang continued his work, seamlessly inscribing a second pattern.
"Master, try to inscribe a third Dao Pattern. It could transform the Wind Wolf Sword," the Golden Book suggested from within, observing the resilience of the sword and whispering the advice to Woo Yang's inner self.
"It can't be a setup, can it? If it can't handle three Dao Patterns and shatters, wouldn't I be in for a beating?" Woo Yang couldn't help but proceed with caution; this was no laughing matter.
"Relax, Master. If I were to trick you, now wouldn't be the time," the Golden Book assured him.
Despite his unease, Woo Yang took the Golden Book's words to heart and concentrated on inscribing the Dao Patterns once more. Woo Tieh, rooted to the spot, was utterly astounded, his eyes wide with incredulity.
The room burst into blinding light as the three Dao Patterns were etched onto the Wind Wolf Sword, the brilliance persisting for the duration of half an incense stick.
"Did you catch what happened just now?" Woo Chenghao asked, bewildered, as he gazed at Woo Tong, who looked as if he'd been in a scuffle.
"It looked like Woo Yang's room lit up. That had to be my brother's power shining through," exclaimed Woo Tong, his face alight with excitement despite his less-than-stellar appearance.
"Master, the Wind Wolf Sword has ascended from a mid-tier Common Grade to the pinnacle of the Common Grade, rivaling an ordinary low-tier Spirit Grade weapon," the Golden Book conveyed to Woo Yang mentally, impressed by his prowess with the Dao Patterns.
Woo Yang, drained of energy and unable to revel in his success, collapsed to the ground. "Who knew that inscribing three Dao Patterns would be so taxing?" he gasped, hastily swallowing some Spirit Power Recovery Medicine Pills to catch his breath.
Meanwhile, Woo Tieh, beaming with delight, lifted the Wind Wolf Sword. The sensation was entirely new; he felt like a conqueror standing before the gates of a city.
"This is now a superior weapon, on par with a low-tier Spiritual Grade weapon," Woo Yang said weakly, relaying the Golden Book's earlier assessment to an astounded Woo Tieh.
Hearing this, Woo Tieh was beside himself with amazement. He had hoped for a mere boost in combat ability, but to have the Wind Wolf Sword's quality elevated was beyond his wildest dreams.
Of course, seeing is believing, and hearing can be deceiving. Despite sensing the Wind Wolf Sword's exceptional nature, its true power could only be gauged through testing.
Without another word, Woo Tieh stepped out of Woo Yang's room, and soon after, a thunderous boom echoed from outside.
"Woo Tieh, that rascal better not have taken his weapon and wrecked my house," Woo Yang muttered, alarmed by the noise. He hurriedly got ready to investigate.
But just then, Woo Tieh, who had dashed out moments before, burst back in and enveloped Woo Yang in a bear hug.
Caught off guard by the unexpected embrace, Woo Yang couldn't help but wonder if Woo Tieh had lost his mind to make such a gesture.
"Mr. Yang, from this day forward, you're my brother."
