C12 He Actually Wanted My Spirit Beast!
"Wait a minute, this one's black, yet its mother was completely white. Could there be a chance of mutation here?"
Su Ping'an hadn't been in this world for very long, and even the breed of this snow leopard was a mystery to him, let alone its offspring.
He then took a closer look at the adorable little creature, which filled his heart with joy. At last, he had some company.
It was better than being alone in the back mountains every day, which would only add to his gloom.
Seeing the little black leopard, Su Ping'an's spirits lifted, and he reached out to stroke it.
"From now on, it's just you and me. How about I give you a name, okay?"
Unexpectedly, the little black furball actually made a sound, which left Su Ping'an in awe. Was it a coincidence, or did it understand?
But that no longer mattered. It was as if it had agreed, and Su Ping'an began to muse aloud.
"Alright then, your name will be Detective Black Cat, sound good?"
If the little black leopard could talk, it would surely give him an earful. 'You're the cat, your whole family are cats.'
And so, the name Detective Black Cat was whimsically set in stone. Su Ping'an scooped up the leopard and headed outside.
Once back in the cave that the Medicine King had occupied, man and beast began their life together.
It would be over half a month before he could return to his sect, but with Detective Black Cat's company, the time didn't seem too dull.
Before he knew it, half a month had flown by. Su Ping'an marveled as Detective Black Cat had grown to the size of his belly.
If it kept growing at this rate, in less than a month, it might reach his height, rivaling even his mother.
As the days ticked by, it was finally time to leave the back mountains and return to the sect.
Stretching lazily, he took Detective Black Cat with him and made his way back to the Elite Wound sect.
The sect members were astonished to see Su Ping'an return with a black panther in tow.
"This kid seems to stumble into adventures even when he's supposed to be reflecting on his errors. He's come back with a spirit beast."
"This spirit beast does bear a resemblance to the World Shocking Spirit Panther, though that one is pure white."
"The sect's about to buzz with excitement again, especially since this kid once gave Senior Brother He a good thrashing."
Su Ping'an's interest was piqued. The panther he had encountered was likely the World Shocking Spirit Panther, an incredibly formidable creature. The thought brought a grin to his face.
"It was pure fluke, really. I just happened to rescue its mother, and the little guy wouldn't leave me alone. I had no choice but to bring him back."
Hearing this, the folks at Elite Wound Sect were green with envy. How come I don't have that kind of luck? Especially since that spirit leopard could take on an Other Shore expert when it's fully grown.
While everyone was busy envying him, a breathtaking beauty suddenly appeared, capturing everyone's gaze.
Her long, shapely legs, striking oval face, and delicate waist that seemed too fragile to grasp left everyone spellbound.
Some couldn't help but drool openly, looking utterly foolish.
Su Ping'an's eyes sparkled. He hadn't expected to find such a beauty within the Elite Wound Sect, a detail he had been completely unaware of.
But he was no stranger to battle and certainly not as green as these rookies.
He casually strolled past the beauty without so much as a sideways glance.
Yet, it was precisely this nonchalance from Su Ping'an that slightly irked Yang Na.
Accustomed to being adored like a goddess, she couldn't fathom being blatantly ignored by this young man. Her pride wouldn't allow it.
So, with a fiery glare, Yang Na confronted Su Ping'an.
"Hey, you! Why didn't you even glance my way when you walked by? Am I really that repulsive?"
Her words drew the crowd's ire, and they glared at Su Ping'an, itching to play the hero and put him in his place.
Curiously, Su Ping'an gave Yang Na a thorough once-over, then scoffed dismissively.
"Sure, you're beautiful, but I'm not interested. Should I fawn over you like the rest of them? It's not like you'd let me get any sleep."
His words set the crowd ablaze with fury, and they collectively turned on Su Ping'an.
"How dare you be so rude? Aren't you afraid we'll drown you with our spit right here and now?"
"If you have any sense, apologize to the lady immediately, or you'll be spattered with blood within five steps."
"Vulgar, utterly vulgar! How can you be so crude to a beautiful woman?"
Despite the crowd's relentless condemnation, Su Ping'an remained nonchalant.
Having previously defeated Hee Wudao, everyone was well aware of his strength, which is why they were all bark and no bite.
Yang Na took great pleasure in the crowd's verbal lashing of the young man, basking in the undeniable allure of her charm.
Unbeknownst to her, Su Ping'an had already pegged her as nothing more than a manipulative flirt in his mind. Had she known, she might have clawed him to pieces on the spot.
Yet, even amidst the barrage of insults, Su Ping'an didn't flinch, casually continuing his walk into the sect.
This only served to fan the flames of Yang Na's rage, prompting her to berate Su Ping'an loudly.
"If you don't apologize to me today, you won't take another step out of here."
Her sense of entitlement was astounding; it was anyone's guess how many had indulged her to create such an attitude.
Su Ping'an could only shake his head in resignation, mocking Yang Na with a sneer.
"Beauty, I haven't wronged you. Don't be so irrational, or you might provoke me to mar that pretty face of yours, and then you'll learn your lesson."
His words struck a nerve; Yang Na's beauty was her pride and joy.
The thought of being disfigured by this upstart was more than she could bear.
"You little punk, you've crossed the line. I'll make sure you learn your lesson today, so you won't forget your own name."
As Yang Na prepared to charge, she caught sight of the little black panther by Su Ping'an's side, and her eyes gleamed with greed.
"So, you have a spirit beast like this, but you don't deserve it. Hand it over willingly, and I might just spare you."
She couldn't believe the audacity of this woman, coveting the Black Detective he'd raised from a cub. This brazen desire ignited a murderous intent in Su Ping'an.
