C15 The People of the Medicine Sect Were Shocked

Only a skilled alchemist could produce a green-grade pill, a fact that spoke volumes about her confidence in her abilities.

Su Ping'an couldn't help but chuckle to himself, surprised that she would challenge him to make a green-grade pill.

After all, he was already capable of crafting the highest tier of purple pills; a green-grade pill was hardly worth his time.

He looked at the haughty woman with a sneer and boasted confidently.

"I can certainly craft a green-grade pill. If you fail to do so, you might want to worry about saving face."

Yang Na was taken aback by Su Ping'an's brash demeanor. Could this young man really be that sure of himself?

She knew her own skills were such that she might succeed only once in five attempts. Could this guy manage a perfect record?

But with her challenge already thrown down, she couldn't back down now and had to steel herself for the contest.

"I can definitely refine a green-grade pill. I could even handle one grade higher with near certainty. You should watch out for yourself."

However, as soon as Su Ping'an finished speaking, they approached Elder Wang of the Elite Wound Sect.

Given that Elder Wang oversaw discipline and was known for his integrity, it was only natural for him to serve as the judge for their match.

Su Ping'an had no objections, and thus the competition officially began.

They took their places at the center of the Elite Wound Sect's square, each at a table set opposite the other, ready to face off.

With the start of the competition announced by Elder Wang, Yang Na frantically began pulling out herbs from her storage device and set to work refining them.

Su Ping'an, on the other hand, remained cool as a cucumber, leisurely finding a stool and sipping tea at his table.

This prompted a buzz of speculation among the onlookers. Su Ping'an seemed too relaxed—was he just putting on a show?

"It seems Su Ping'an has lost his nerve. He's probably thrown in the towel."

"Or maybe Su Ping'an is deliberately showing a weakness to throw the woman off. He might have an ace up his sleeve."

Amidst the murmurs, Yang Na scoffed at the notion, eyeing Su Ping'an with scorn.

"Kid, if you're ready to concede, then I won't bother refining anymore. Why waste my energy?" she said with contempt.

Su Ping'an's laughter was so hearty that tears streamed down his face.

"Where do you get this confidence from? I'm merely giving you a head start. I'll step in before you manage to complete your refining," Su Ping'an declared with self-assurance.

The crowd didn't expect Su Ping'an to be so bold. They were left scratching their heads, puzzled by his unwavering confidence.

Yang Na ignored his brashness, focusing instead on her herbs, beginning the delicate process of alchemy.

Unexpectedly, Su Ping'an approached her, nitpicking her technique.

"Using Gut Cutting Grass now? That's a recipe for disaster. Give it a minute and your cauldron will explode," Su Ping'an commented, relishing the drama.

Yang Na bristled at his condescension, surprised by his disdain.

She shoved him aside and retorted, "I don't need your guidance on pill refining. My alchemy was taught by my mother, a legacy beyond the grasp of mere mortals like you," Yang Na exclaimed.

Su Ping'an's curiosity was piqued. He hadn't realized her alchemy was a maternal inheritance.

"So that explains it. With such subpar skills, it's clear now. No doubt your father took off long ago," Su Ping'an remarked, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

His words struck a nerve; Yang Na had no memories of her father, a tender vulnerability.

Enraged, she pushed Su Ping'an forcefully and berated him, "Enough talk! If you've got the skill, prove it by refining the pill. Otherwise, get lost and spare us your incessant babble," Yang Na fumed.

Members of the Elite Wound glowered at Su Ping'an, convinced of his incompetence.

"Show us your skill in alchemy instead of pestering others," one commented.

"Step aside, or I'll take over. I bet I have more skill than you," another challenged.

"He's just scared, hoping someone else's cauldron will explode. He should take a hard look at his own abilities."

As the last word was spoken, a thunderous boom echoed through the air, and Yang Na's pill furnace shattered into fragments.

A pungent odor wafted through the air, prompting everyone to wrinkle their noses in disgust.

Yet, there was no time to dwell on the stench as all eyes turned to Su Ping'an in astonishment. Could this young upstart actually have the foresight they had witnessed?

"The furnace... it actually exploded. Su Ping'an's predictions are uncannily accurate."

"Now it's the Medicine Sect's turn to show their hand. Will they concede defeat?"

Su Ping'an had anticipated the outcome and was not the least bit surprised. He had already distanced himself from Yang Na.

Caught in her shock, Yang Na overheard the murmurs of the Elite Wound's members and spun around, fixing a fierce gaze on Su Ping'an.

"Did you sabotage me? There's no way my furnace would explode without reason!" Yang Na accused sharply.

She wasn't just spouting baseless accusations; she had refined the Breakthrough Pill over a hundred times with consistent success. Today's mishap was completely unexpected.

Yang Na couldn't help but suspect foul play from Su Ping'an; nothing else made sense.

And to think, the pill furnace was a cherished heirloom from her grandfather, one that had never failed her in pill-making.

Su Ping'an couldn't suppress a chuckle at Yang Na's furious stare.

He had already told her she was outmatched, yet she had stubbornly persisted. Now she was reaping the consequences.

"You might want to focus on salvaging the situation, considering the time is nearly up. You're on the brink of losing," Su Ping'an taunted.

Yang Na, however, dismissed his comment with a scoff. She might have blown up her furnace, but Su Ping'an hadn't even begun his alchemy.

"Before you criticize others, you should start your own process. For all we know, you might end up worse off than me."

But Su Ping'an paid her no mind, pulling out his herbs from the system's storage space and igniting a green flame with a flick of his hand, beginning his own alchemical process.

Yang Na watched the flames dance from Su Ping'an's palms and couldn't help but exclaim in shock at his unexpected prowess.

"How did you come to possess the Nameless True Flame, a unique power of the Medicine Sect!"
