Lee Cha wakes up in his tiny room, far removed from the once vibrant city he knew.

Gazing into a shattered mirror, he recalls the year 2031, marking the tenth year of the Cataclysm Era. Meteor showers and massive earthquakes had obliterated ancient civilizations, halving the human population and plunging the world into darkness. In this new age, Evolvers—humans endowed with extraordinary abilities—began to emerge, taking control of the old world's order with new powers and societal hierarchies.

However, Richard (Lee Cha) possessed no such abilities.

Despite being at the very bottom of this new world's hierarchy, he stumbles upon the precious ambergris fruit, a catalyst for human evolution, treasured by many but worthless to him since he is not an Evolver. To others, this fruit represents wealth; to him, it's a curse.

Unable to evolve and consume this treasure, selling the fruit would only mean endangering his life in a world where the strong prey upon the weak.
