C9 Are You Preparing to Sell Your Butt?

"Hand over all your Refinement Crystals, now!"

The crowd was taken aback, none of them had seen the twist coming.

The hunters had become the hunted.

The outsider, who seemed an easy target, had become a fearsome predator.

Boss Zhao's face twisted with rage.

They were usually the ones doing the robbing; the audacity of someone trying to rob him was unthinkable.

"Kid, don't push your luck! You think you can rob us and live?"

His threat was cut short by the sound of his men's agonized screams.

Zhang Hai was unfazed by his bluster.

To him, a battleship, the death of these soldiers was inconsequential.

They were merely experience points, and he could have as many as he wanted.

Boss Zhao's complexion turned ashen. In mere seconds, the majority of his crew had been slaughtered.

And these skeletons weren't just killing; they were torturing their victims, refusing to grant them a quick end.

In just moments, his men had been reduced to writhing, mutilated figures on the ground.

"Please, don't kill me! I'll pay anything!"

Boss Zhao was genuinely terrified. Desperate to save his own skin, he quickly surrendered all the Refinement Crystals he possessed.

Zhang Hai glanced at the Refinement Crystals in his pocket. The haul was modest, only a couple of thousand, but it was better than nothing.

"Scram."

Boss Zhao scrambled past the bloodied skeletons, making a hasty retreat. He had no desire to confront these skeletal figures alone.

The skeletons nonchalantly kicked the bodies into a nearby waterway that led to the ocean, disposing of them effortlessly. The sea life would certainly enjoy the grisly feast.

Once the skeletons vanished, Luo Qian, the middle-aged man, breathed a sigh of relief.

"Sir, you can trust me. I know a place where we can offload your goods. There's a market for them."

"Fine, lead the way."

Zhang Hai didn't hesitate.

To Luo Qian, the man was utterly fearless.

He followed Luo Qian onto a dilapidated boat, down into the hold, and descended the stairs.

To his astonishment, he found himself in an underwater bar.

Through the clear glass, the vast expanse of the blue ocean stretched out before them.

Inside the spacious cabin, multicolored lights danced across the room.

"Boss, I've brought a major client for you."

Following his gaze, he noticed a woman in her early forties.

Her figure was striking, reminiscent of a perfectly ripe peach.

The proprietress glanced at Zhang Hai, her face adorned with a professional smile.

"Young man, bring out all your merchandise. No one here will dare mess with you."

Without any delay, Zhang Hai laid the inventory list before her.

She scrutinized the items with care.

The proprietress was genuinely taken aback.

"Not bad. If these goods check out, I can offer you 32,000 Refinement Crystals."

Her offer significantly exceeded what Luo Qian had quoted.

Zhang Hai had no reason to disagree.

"Fine, the merchandise is at the dock. You're welcome to have it inspected."

The proprietress, a woman of action, summoned three individuals to the dock to tally the goods.

Everything proceeded without a hitch, and the goods were all accounted for.

True to her word, the proprietress didn't play any tricks and paid out the Refinement Crystals right then and there.

Zhang Hai handed a thousand Refinement Crystals to Luo Qian as his commission.

After all, the man had facilitated the deal, and a fair commission was only appropriate.

Holding the commission, Luo Qian finally resolved to make a bold request.

"Captain, I'd like to join your crew."

"No."

Zhang Hai had no interest in taking on freeloaders. He wasn't foolish.

Unless, of course, the applicant was an attractive woman—that might be a different story.

Luo Qian was taken aback by the swift rejection.

He had seriously considered this before approaching.

Didn't Zhang Hai realize he should think about a middle-aged man's future prospects?

"Captain, come on. It's just one more mouth to feed."

"And? If you were a beautiful woman, I might have considered it. At least a lady would be easy on the eyes."

"What's your angle, as a middle-aged man? Planning to sell your charm?"

A wave of frustration washed over Luo Qian, making him question his decision.

"Captain, please. I can be of use. Look, I can sell stuff for you. I have a solid understanding of the market. For all future deals, I'll only take a 2% commission. How about that?"

Zhang Hai's curiosity was kindled by the conversation.

He was certainly a novice in the realm of sales.

Given that he was in an Alien World and an outsider, it was clear he wouldn't master it quickly.

"Fine, but you'll need to help with cleaning and such."

Luo Qian immediately agreed without hesitation.

Zhang Hai was out of options. The skeletons were only good for combat and wouldn't touch cleaning with a ten-foot pole.

The state of his warship, coated in dried blood, was beyond words.

Suddenly, a loud clang was followed by a scream.

"Ah, I'm so sorry! It wasn't intentional."

The crowd erupted in laughter.

"Haha, how many unlucky folks have we had today?"

"That's the third one. I've been keeping track."

The burly man drenched in beer scowled.

He yanked the apologetic girl towards him, a lecherous grin spreading across his face.

"Sweetheart, that's hardly a sincere apology. There's a room right here. How about we make it up to each other?"

"Whoa, think you can handle it? Don't let us guys down."

"Seriously, you're looking a bit like a pushover to me."

The woman blanched at their jeers, but just then, the Lady Boss, with her commanding presence, stepped forward.

"Well, look at you, young man. If you're that eager, what about me? Shall we have a go?"

The room fell silent.

The Lady Boss had a reputation for being formidable.

Rumors even suggested that a young man had met his end in her bed. Anyone brave enough to enter her room could expect a dire fate.

At best, they'd leave on wobbly legs.

The young man turned ghostly pale, shaking his head vigorously.

"No, no, no, Lady Boss, it was all in jest. We wouldn't dare without your consent."

The woman who had been struggling in his grasp was now visibly agitated.

She quickly stood up and sought refuge behind the Lady Boss.

With a huff, the Lady Boss pulled her aside.

"Look at yourself. How many times has this happened? You've been here less than a month and you're falling over a hundred times a day, not to mention the countless guests you've upset."

She shook her head with a self-deprecating smile.

[Why did I ever decide to be so kind and bring her onboard?

"I'm sorry, Lady Boss, it was truly an accident. I'm begging you, please don't let me go."

The beautiful woman was on the verge of tears. If she couldn't stay here, what would become of her? The last thing she wanted was to end up being sold into a life at the brothel.
