C1 Yin marriage

My name is Chen Liang.

I was born in a remote mountain village in Zhejiang province. Although the place is poor, my family is a good one.

On the day of my adulthood, my father suddenly told me to start preparing for the wedding. I had no idea why, and I had never heard about my daughter-in-law.

Why did my father suddenly ask me to get married? Furthermore, I have just reached adulthood. Even if it's in the countryside, isn't it a bit too early?

In the evening my mother called me into her room and told me everything, and I realized the truth. During the day I was still concerned about the man I was going to marry, and I wasn't ready to be someone else's husband, and now it didn't matter.

Because my wife is a dead woman.

I now know the whole story. My 'daughter-in-law' name is Zhou Ling, the daughter of the village chief, but she committed suicide when she was 18 years old. If she didn't die, she would be 21 years old.

I also understood why my father would agree, because my family was supported by the village head. When most of the people in the village were in tiled houses, my family was able to live in a bungalow, and it was all thanks to him that my two younger brothers were able to attend the best primary school in the village.

For that, I knew where I was.

On the day of my wedding, the village chief even sent me many things to make up for my family. He usually treats me like a family member.

Since the hall was full of villagers, he stopped me in the attic to talk.

"Xiao Liang, Uncle Zhou actually didn't want to do that, but you know how my Ling Ling died." Xiao Liang, Uncle Zhou actually didn't want to do that, but you know how my Ling Ling'er died. I don't know if he was faking it or not, but at least the wad of money in my hand was real.

However, the thing that I did not expect the most was that on the day of our wedding, Uncle Zhou had hired a witch from who knows where. She was crazily dancing in the hall, sprinkling the so-called holy water all over the place.

That was the only way to get the underground officials to agree that Zhou Ling had returned to the mortal world from the underworld to complete the marriage.

I stood in the middle of the lobby in my old-fashioned wedding dress, listening to her, letting the holy water, mixed with the saliva of all the men in the village, splash over me, saying it was to cover my body with a protective film of the sun to prevent me from being taken away by my wicked wife.

The villagers did not know what was going on, they only knew that I was going to be married. When the wedding was being held, there was no one who did not celebrate. Of course, other than our family, we still had to put on a happy face to welcome them.

When the wedding began, my father and the village chief were already seated in the hall. I put on the flower ball and waited quietly for the witch to bring the bride over.

The sound of a chicken broke my reverie. What a ridiculous scene.

The witch was holding a hen in her arms. The hen was actually wearing the wedding dress of a bride, and was even covered with a red veil.

"What's going on!?" I promised to marry Zhou Ling, but I never said I was going to marry a chicken! " After seven days of compromise and decadence, I seemed to have forgotten how to resist.

"Who can tell me what's going on!" I tore off the flower ball on my chest. I also didn't know what kind of expression I had previously, since everyone present was looking at me and discussing about the chicken.

I want to run away, but my family has nothing to do with me anymore. I just want to run away, I don't want to get married, but with a wave of Uncle Zhou's hand, the butcher, Zhang Wen, who usually treats me very well, immediately grabbed me.

He forced me back, and the pain in my back knee sent me to my knees.

He actually wanted me to marry a chicken for his daughter, and he even believed what the witch said. When Zhou Ling returned to the world, she had to possess something, and the chicken was nothing more than a trust.

I was still married to Zhou Ling, one dead, one chicken.

What made me even more desperate was that when I resisted, there was no one to help me other than my mother, who was crying.

He didn't say anything, just glared at me.

I was completely free, and everything in front of me was in a trance.

All I remember is that I had been on my knees until my legs were numb, and then someone had pressed my head down, two or three times.

First bow to heaven and earth, second bow to high class, husband and wife bowing to each other.

I looked at the chicken that was kowtowing with me. The entire village knew.

When we finally went to the bridal chamber, no one made a ruckus. I stood at the door with the chicken in my arms, feebly watching the witch draw a charm on the paper before the door, and then escorted me to the bridal chamber.

The arrangement of the new house was really nice. The entire room was bright red, and there was that soft incense, but I had to sleep with this chicken for the night.

Everything that happened today was so fake, but everything around him was so real.

I fell asleep, the sound of the hens often in my ears, unknowingly into a woman's moan.

I knew nothing about my room at all. I could only feel an indescribable feeling in my lower body. Some pain was covered up by comfort.

When I opened my eyes, a woman was stroking her hair and wriggling naked on top of me. I looked around but there were no hens, only her in the darkness.

She pulled my head back and let me look at her, and I saw that the woman who was trembling in front of me was Zhou Ling.

I reached out my hand to feel it. The fear and the speed of the bed were mixed together. It was so real to touch her skin.

The soft body was finally buried in my arms, and I was entangled with her, forgetting everything that had happened today.

When I woke up again, it was already the second day. There were loud noises outside, including my father's cursing and my mother's crying. I pushed open the door and went out.

My father and mother stood in front of me, and Uncle Zhou led a group of people to rush in.

I was directly dragged out, my mother was pushed to the ground, and my father held her as he consoled her.

Yesterday, the main hall was still decorated with the word "Happy", but today, the main hall was decorated with the word "Li".

In the middle of the lobby was a large coffin.

"Uncle Zhou, I just got married yesterday. What's going on here?" I was forced to sit down in a chair, and the witch kept saying something I didn't know in front of me.

With a friendly face, Uncle Zhou told me that last night, Zhou Ling had given a dream to the witch, saying that she was very satisfied with me being her husband, so she wanted me to go down and accompany her.

I hope that I can go down and accompany her. This sentence broke all of my limits. Even though marrying a dead person would be pointed out by others, at the very least, I would still be able to live.

I struggled in my chair, trying to break free of their restraints, but it was impossible. I shouted for help, and the villagers outside ignored me, so I was pushed into the coffin.

There was a pungent smell in the room.

The wood was covered, and the noise outside was much quieter, but the sound of a hammer hitting nails could be clearly heard.

I used my foot to kick the coffin. At first, I tried to kick the coffin, but when I tried to crawl out, a fist landed on my head. My head felt like it was about to vomit.

I was dazed, but still conscious, and I could hear my mother slapping and crying beside the coffin.

But there was nothing she could do, and there was nothing I could do.

The bumpy and shaky way was accompanied by the sound of drums, drums, and trumpets, as if they were celebrating my death.

I turned eighteen yesterday and was just about to reach adulthood, so it was a short period of time before I was buried today. I closed my eyes and even experienced bed matters once before I died which could be considered to be satisfactory.

"Excavate larger holes. Be careful not to collapse my daughter's grave." I feel like I slept for a long time.

Until my coffin bed was lifted up again and put down, I knew I had been buried in the earth.

I'm dead...

The whole world felt quiet for a long time, so I closed my eyes and pretended I was dead.

A bit of sand landed on my forehead. When I opened my eyes, I discovered that the coffin had yet to completely close. There would still be air coming in from the outside, but it wouldn't be able to sustain for long.

I ran my hands through the dirt at the gap, hoping I'd live a little longer, at least to give me time to think back to last night.

Suddenly, he heard the chirping of a chicken in the coffin.
