C20 Using Unscrupulous Means

As expected, the factory erupted into pandemonium, with cries of terror and the stern shouts of police officers filling the air.

Before long, every criminal in the factory had been apprehended. It was then that Zhao Feng made his appearance before Captain Zheng.

Upon seeing Zhao Feng, some officers mistook him for an accomplice and moved to apprehend him. However, Captain Zheng chuckled and said, "Zhao Feng, we owe you a debt of gratitude! Without your crucial tip-off, we might never have been able to bust this operation!"

At his words, the officers turned to Zhao Feng in astonishment, now understanding that it was his report that had tipped off Captain Zheng to the existence of the counterfeit drug operation.

Zhao Feng simply smiled and said, "Doing my civic duty is the least I can do."

He then added, "Actually, Captain Zheng, my main purpose in coming here was to track down someone who bought fake medicine to set up my wife. Could I possibly review the relevant records?"

"Of course!" Captain Zheng replied magnanimously. "After the huge favor you've done for us, this small request is nothing! By the way, have you ever considered joining the police force? You have a real knack for this line of work!"

With a smile and a wave of his hand, Zhao Feng declined, "I appreciate the offer, Captain Zheng, but I'm quite content with my current profession."

Shortly thereafter, Zhao Feng was escorted by an officer to a computer. The head of the counterfeit operation had confessed everything, and the computer contained all the records of the fake drug sales.

Zhao Feng recalled the details of the counterfeit drugs that Wei Ying had, and quickly located the buyer's information, who turned out to be a resident of Donghai City.

After jotting down the contact details, Zhao Feng bid farewell to Captain Zheng and coordinated with Elder Ding's team to report and dismantle another fake drug site, bringing the case to a close.

Leaving the counterfeit hub behind, Zhao Feng drove back into the city.

He now had the contact information for the buyer of the fake drugs, but Zhao Feng was cautious about reaching out directly. He knew that for people in this line of work, contact methods were often set up specifically for illicit transactions, and any direct contact could easily spook them.

So, Zhao Feng simply handed his contact information over to Elder Ding, instructing him to have someone look into the matter.

Elder Ding's efficiency was undeniable; by evening, he had already pinpointed the individual's identity.

Zhao Feng was taken aback upon discovering the true identity of the individual—it was none other than an employee of Faang Chonggong!

This was the same Faang Chonggong who had coveted Wei Ying but lost EDonghai Pharmaceutical Industry to Zhao Feng.

It became clear to Zhao Feng that this was undoubtedly Faang Chonggong's act of retaliation against Wei Ying.

He realized that to exonerate Wei Ying, he would need to present compelling evidence.

Although he had evidence of this person purchasing counterfeit drugs, it wasn't enough to prove they had replaced Wei Ying's authentic medicine with fakes.

He would have to devise another strategy.

After a moment's thought, Zhao Feng resolved to employ a more forceful approach this time around.

He drove straight to the residence of the man in question, Wang Huanzhi, who was Faang Chonggong's purchasing manager.

Elder Ding's intel suggested that Wang Huanzhi was a nightly patron of a particular bar, making it the ideal place to confront him.

After an hour's wait outside Wang Huanzhi's regular haunt, sure enough, out stumbled Wang Huanzhi, inebriated and clinging to an equally intoxicated woman.

A gleam of determination in his eyes, Zhao Feng swiftly exited his vehicle, approached Wang Huanzhi, and, with little regard for the drunken woman, he tossed her aside, seized Wang Huanzhi, and made a beeline for the car.

Passed out drunk outside a bar, one was likely to be robbed, but Zhao Feng harbored no sympathy for the woman. In his view, any woman who drank herself into oblivion at a bar was asking for trouble.

Wang Huanzhi, still in a stupor, mistook Zhao Feng for the woman and offered no resistance.

Once in the car, Zhao Feng deposited him onto the passenger seat. Through his haze, Wang Huanzhi slurred out, "Driver, take me to Biyun Garden District!"

Zhao Feng responded with a cold chuckle and promptly drove off to a secluded spot on the outskirts of town.

As he pulled Wang Huanzhi from the car, Wang Huanzhi glanced around in a daze. "Hold on, this isn't my house!"

"You're right; it's not your house. It's your final resting place," Zhao Feng said ominously.

At Zhao Feng's chilling declaration, Wang Huanzhi snapped to attention, terror etched on his face. "Who are you, and why have you taken me?"

"Why? You tell me, Wang Huanzhi. If you hadn't done anything wrong, why would I be here to take you?" Zhao Feng replied with a mocking sneer.

"Are you... Are you with Wei Ying?" Wang Huanzhi's mind raced to Wei Ying, the only person he had wronged recently.

"Ha, not bad, you remember well! Let me be clear, Wang Huanzhi, the factory where you bought those counterfeit drugs has been raided by the police," Zhao Feng said with a smirk.

Wang Huanzhi's complexion drained of color. "What? The police raided it?"

"Exactly. And it won't be long before they trace the trail back to you and everyone else involved in the fake medicine scam," Zhao Feng said with a cold huff.

Wang Huanzhi's fear intensified. "What are you saying? They've been caught by the police? That's impossible! They assured me they'd never be found out!"

"If they were as secure as they claimed, why do you think I'm standing here?" Zhao Feng countered with a sneer.

Wang Huanzhi turned ashen. "Damn it, I knew this would come out eventually. If I had known it would end like this, I never would've gotten involved for my boss!"

"It's too late for regrets now. Just come clean and tell us about the dirty work you and Faang Chonggong have been up to," Zhao Feng pressed.

Realizing Zhao Feng had even named Faang Chonggong, Wang Huanzhi accepted that no secrets could be kept. He sighed and conceded, "Since you know my boss, you must already know everything, right?"

"Out with it! Were you the one who switched Wei Ying's products with fakes?" Zhao Feng demanded sternly.

Wang Huanzhi hastily shook his head: "Not me, I was merely assisting the boss with purchasing counterfeit medication. As for what happened afterward, I'm clueless, and this Wei Ying you're talking about—I don't know her!"

Zhao Feng's brow furrowed: "So, you're saying you had no part in the medication switch?"

"Exactly, my role was limited to acquiring fake drugs for Faang Chonggong, nothing more," Wang Huanzhi asserted.

"Hmm, if that's the case, are you interested in clearing your name?" Zhao Feng asked, his expression serious.

A flicker of excitement passed through Wang Huanzhi's eyes as he hesitated, "How can I clear my name?"

"If you can provide me with evidence against Faang Chonggong, I'll keep you out of police custody," Zhao Feng stated gravely. "However, if you refuse to cooperate, I'll have no choice but to take you straight to the station."

"I'll do it, I'll help you!" Wang Huanzhi eagerly replied.
