C77 Lin Chen Jumped off the Building and Ann Lan Was Moved

"Wuwuwu."

Lin Chen made his way toward the rooftop's edge, step by step.

With her mouth sealed by tape, Ann Lan couldn't help but let out muffled sobs.

She desperately wanted to warn Lin Chen not to trust Sun Xiangfeng's words.

Because if Lin Chen were to die, the vindictive Sun family would surely not spare her and her child.

"Mad woman, remember the first time we met?"

"I thought you were trapping me into fatherhood. Turns out, I'm genuinely a dad."

Lin Chen reached the rooftop's brink, addressing Ann Lan through the video, while simultaneously texting Huang, Sun Qing'er, and Chung Yu.

"Do you know my greatest regret in life?"

"Having such a gorgeous wife and being a dad, yet never having been with you."

"Mad woman, if there's a next life, can we have kids the normal way?"

"At least that way, I'd get to savor the joys of parenthood."

He paused before continuing his conversation with Ann Lan.

Under normal circumstances, Ann Lan would have cursed Lin Chen out for his 'heartfelt' words, calling him a shameless rogue.

But now, tears streamed down her face.

Their acquaintance had been brief, but since learning the child was his, Lin Chen had been nothing but attentive to her and her daughter, even going to lengths to safeguard Ann's Group.

Humans aren't emotionless like flora; feelings are inevitable, especially in such dire moments.

"Mad woman, if we somehow make it out alive today, would you let me touch your chest?"

"I mean, I am your husband and the father of your child. It's not too much to ask for a touch, right?"

"If you agree, just nod."

"Then, this leap would be worth it!"

Using the Magical Third Eye, Lin Chen had pinpointed Ann Lan's location and glanced her way.

He let out a sigh.

Ann Lan, frantic and ignoring everything else, nodded vigorously.

Seeing this, Lin Chen's eyes sparkled.

He had intended to buy time and lighten the mood with Ann Lan, but to his surprise, she had agreed so readily!

The image of Ann Lan's stunning figure lingered in Lin Chen's mind, prompting him to swallow hard. Even his gaze softened considerably when he looked at Sun Xiangfeng. It was clear that without Sun Xiangfeng's abduction ploy today, Ann Lan wouldn't have so readily acquiesced to his bold request.

"Sun Xiangfeng, I've made up my mind!" Lin Chen declared. "You're going to meet a swift end!"

As Huang and the others reached the doorway to Ann Lan's room, Lin Chen allowed himself a slight, knowing smile in Sun Xiangfeng's direction.

"A swift end for me?" Sun Xiangfeng taunted. "Lin Chen, do you really want to witness Ann Lan and her son perish by my hand? Or are you planning to seek revenge in your next life?"

Sun Xiangfeng's eyes narrowed, a glint of malice flickering within.

"My wife and child will not fall to you, and as for revenge, I waste no time," Lin Chen retorted, his eyes glinting with a steely resolve.

Without a moment's hesitation, he spread his arms wide and leaped from the rooftop.

Ann Lan shuddered at the sight of Lin Chen's descent, her blood-red eyes brimming with sorrow. Meanwhile, Sun Xiangfeng exhaled in relief, his laughter echoing with triumph. From such a height, Lin Chen's fate seemed sealed.

"Ann Lan, who would've thought this scoundrel would be so concerned with your and your son's wellbeing," Sun Xiangfeng sneered.

But his gloating was cut short as a silver needle shattered the glass, striking him squarely in the chest. Agony coursed through him, and though he struggled to remove the needle, his body refused to obey.

"What's happening to me?" Sun Xiangfeng gasped, panic-stricken.

"The answer is simple: you're about to die at my hand," came Lin Chen's icy reply from the fallen phone.

At those words, not only Sun Xiangfeng and Ann Lan, but even Elder Mo instinctively glanced out the window. They wished they hadn't—what they saw sent chills down their spines and shock filled their eyes.

Lin Chen leapt from the rooftop, and to everyone's surprise, his body soared through the air towards them at breakneck speed. With each step he took in midair, a muffled sonic boom echoed around.

"Is he releasing spiritual energy? Could he be a Qi Refining Stage master?" Elder Mo exclaimed, rising from his chair in astonishment.

The Qi Refining Stage was a level beyond both the Postnatal and Innate Stages. Those who reached it could project their spiritual energy outward, enabling them to momentarily defy gravity and scale walls with ease! In all of A City, only a handful of individuals had achieved this status, and each one was a major player.

Now, Lin Chen had attained the Qi Refining Stage at such a young age. How could they not be astounded?

"A Qi Refining Stage master?"

"No, it can't be! It's absolutely impossible!" Sun Xiangfeng's face twisted into a grimace of disbelief upon hearing Elder Mo's cry of surprise. He bellowed at the top of his lungs, his voice filled with desperation.

If Lin Chen truly had reached the Qi Refining Stage, Sun Xiangfeng's elaborate plan to fake a suicide would turn into a farce. Worse still, if Lin Chen located him, it wouldn't just be his own demise at stake—the entire Sun family would face ruin.

"Elder Mo, I'm paralyzed; it has to be Lin Chen's trickery," Sun Xiangfeng implored. "You must kill his wife and child quickly, for Qing'er's sake!"

As Sun Xiangfeng made his way over, he realized his location had been compromised. In a panic, he urgently addressed Elder Mo, knowing full well that the elder was his and the Sun family's only chance for survival.

"Boom!"

The moment Sun Xiangfeng finished speaking, the door was violently kicked open.

"I am Chung Yu of the capital's Chung family. Whoever dares to harm my sister-in-law will become an enemy of the Chung family!" Chung Yu bellowed as he entered the room. Without a second's hesitation, he charged at Sun Xiangfeng, sending him flying with a powerful kick before shielding Ann Lan behind him.

"Sun Qing'er?"

"You... How are you here?" Sun Xiangfeng, sprawled on the ground after being kicked, looked up to see Sun Qing'er. Fear filled his eyes. Lin Chen had claimed to have rescued Sun Qing'er, and Sun Xiangfeng had thought it was a lie.

Who could have imagined that Sun Qing'er would be standing before him, completely unharmed, in just an instant?

It's over, completely over.

If Sun Qing'er exposes the truth in front of Elder Mo, the Sun family wouldn't stand a chance.

Without Lin Chen lifting a finger, Elder Mo would be the first to obliterate them!

With this thought, Sun Xiangfeng was engulfed in despair.

"Boom!"

Another dull sound echoed as Lin Chen burst through the window.

"Honey, are you okay?"

Lin Chen, panting heavily, looked at Ann Lan with deep concern.

While it was feasible for someone at the Qi Refining Stage to momentarily scale walls, the gap between the two buildings was over a hundred meters. Lin Chen may have appeared at ease, but he was nearly spent.

"I'm fine, and so is the baby."

Ann Lan quickly reassured him after Lin Chen removed the tape from her mouth.

"Give Qing'er to me."

"In return, I can obliterate the Sun family for you."

Elder Mo's voice rose just as Lin Chen was about to ensure Ann Lan and the child were unharmed.

He had pieced together the Sun family's scheme the moment he laid eyes on Sun Qing'er.

"Are you the renowned alchemist, Elder Mo?"

Huang blurted out in surprise upon seeing Elder Mo.

"An alchemy master?"

"That's it?"

Lin Chen paused, turning to Old Man Huang with a questioning look.

The scantily clad girls by Elder Mo's side hadn't gone unnoticed by anyone.

And the idea of using Sun Qing'er as a cauldron for such vile acts made Old Man Huang's praise for Elder Mo seem all the more incredulous to Lin Chen.

"Lin, have you lost your mind?"

"Do you realize what being an alchemy master entails?"

"It means that with just one word, countless cultivators will loyally follow his command!"

"Every cultivator dreams of acquiring the pills crafted by an alchemist."

Old Man Huang shot Lin Chen a stern look, his irritation clear as he explained.

As Old Man Huang's words hung in the air, Sun Qing'er's face drained of color.

With Elder Mo's formidable reputation, any sensible person, Lin Chen included, would hand her over without a second thought.

When the time comes, not only will there be no risk of offending the other party, but there could also be a wealth of benefits to gain.

"Hmm... So, if I refuse to hand Qing'er over to him," mused the young master.

"Would that mean I'd be crossing a master alchemist?"

At the moment when Sun Qing'er felt a sense of hopelessness creeping in, Lin Chen cast a mischievous glance at Elder Mo.
