C2 Iphario a Wanderer
Zhou Yi yanked Lu Zhiyao towards him and said, "So what if we can unleash skills beyond our level? We can level up over and over again. It's merely a question of time. We're at level 300, while a Wanderer can barely reach level 30. When the time comes, how will you bridge the one-sixth gap?"
Jiang Hao twirled his scepter and added, "I may not have innate talent, which is common knowledge. But lacking talent doesn't mean I can't reach the pinnacle."
Those around him nodded in agreement.
"Jiang is right. As long as we can make it to the top and secure more resources for Blue Star, that's what counts."
"Besides, no one ever said you need talent to compete. The absence of talent in a Wanderer is their greatest strength."
Once you have talent, you're locked into advancing in your job based on recommendations.
Zhou Yi was about to snap back when suddenly the ground gave way beneath him, and he tumbled down with Zhiyao. The earth trembled, fissures opened up, the nearby trees vanished, and a multitude of pythons burst forth.
These mutated pythons sported wings and triangular heads; some breathed fire, others water.
Quickly, people teamed up to confront the threat.
Typically, a team consisted of three or four members, including a Priest to heal the front line and cure poison.
The rest were damage dealers: gunners, swordsmen, or mages, among others.
Before entering, everyone had already formed teams quietly, and now, no one volunteered to team up with Jiang Hao and Jiang Lulu.
What was once a dense forest had become a flat wasteland, overgrown with weeds and filled with triangular pythons darting through the air.
Jiang Lulu, with her exceptional leaping ability, was practically soaring through the sky as she fired upon them.
A gentle push off the ground sent her high into the air, and she would descend slowly before leaping up again. Her movements were akin to gliding along rooftops, rendering her untouchable by the triangular pythons.
She had assumed Jiang Hao only possessed the scepter and hadn't fully developed his other abilities. From midair, she called out to him.
"Bro, use your priest skills and hang the vines on me; I'll protect you."
Jiang Hao clambered up the cliffside, chuckling to himself.
Why did his sister always seem to think he was so fragile?
The ground had split open, forcing everyone to cling to the cliff face for survival, making it nearly impossible to deal any significant damage.
Not every team's priest had opted for a plant-based specialization, after all.
Lu Zhiyao, her grip slipping from Zhou Yi's hand, faced a fiery assault from a triangular python, which scorched half of her already battered space suit.
Unable to quench the flames, Zhiyao had no choice but to shed the suit, revealing her silver armor beneath. It offered some protection, but not against the seething rage that engulfed her.
In that critical moment, Jiang Hao heard the system's voice in his mind.
[You've slain 3,600 goblins. Congratulations, host. Your Blood Rage has increased, boosting the damage and attack speed of all skills by 100 for one hour.]
"Now, watch me work my magic."
Jiang Hao murmured, switching his skill set.
He unleashed the Assassin's ultimate move, [Flash], which increased his Critical Hit chance by 50%.
In an instant, he was behind Jiang Lulu, taking out the python poised to ambush her in a single strike!
As the Cleric's mana depleted and the front-line shield dissipated, the team was thrown into disarray by the python's assault, sending the Cleric and Magician tumbling into the abyss.
Jiang Hao swiftly changed skills again.
He activated the Gardener's ultimate, [Endless Vines], which purified any poison gas within a hundred meters.
Vines shot out rapidly; some coiled around the waists of those falling, pulling them to safety, while others ensnared the attacking python.
Witnessing this, the crowd gasped in amazement.
"Jiang Hao's actually using Gardener skills!"
Many lifestyle professions were overlooked because they seemed impractical.
Like the chef, gardener, and carpenter, they were considered even less useful than a Cleric.
At least a Cleric could heal, detoxify, and provide a protective shield.
But these lifestyle professions were often the last resort for the desperate, the domain of the lower class, serving only the interests of powerful families.
"I had assumed Jiang would opt for the Cleric's skill."
"Indeed, with the Scepter's enhancement, Jiang's life-oriented professional skills are all subject to mutation."
Had Jiang Hao employed the Cleric's skill in that moment, he could have saved only one person.
This is because a Cleric can conjure just a single vine.
In contrast, a Gardener can unleash a multitude of vines.
Naturally, without the Scepter's boost, the Gardener's vines would merely serve to gather leaves, devoid of any offensive or defensive capabilities.
Jiang Hao then switched professions once more.
He invoked the summoner's skill, calling forth thousands of toads.
And these were no ordinary toads—they were mutated!
One was as massive as an elephant, its tongue both swift and precise, with incredible stickiness!
The giant triangular python, ensnared by the toad's tongue, was utterly powerless to break free.
One gulp, one kill! In no time at all, the python was annihilated, the fractured earth mended itself, and the vanished woods reappeared before everyone's eyes.
A dense white mist enveloped the area, the poison even more potent than before.
The crowd was awestruck.
The public chat was flooded with praise.
[Gluaphane - A Wanderer can really play like this! Spectacular! Absolutely spectacular!]
[Tahuan - Blue Star truly deserves its reputation. This is my first time witnessing the use of a life class skill in Iphario.]
[Suge - I thought Gardeners were only good for dancing. Blue Star's people are formidable! Every year, we can't even get past the first floor...]
[Wrapes - I've learned something new. Quick, have the president commission the crafting of advanced weaponry!]
[Blue Star - That Scepter is incredibly powerful. With its enhancement, a summoner can summon so many at once, and it only used up half of the blue energy.]
[You You Country - This Blue Star Wanderer unleashed a major spell in just one second! It's inconceivable!]
Meanwhile, the head of the Jiang Family was visibly upset.
"Does no one here know how Jiang Hao crafted his weapon?"
Jiang Hao, the unnoticed member of the Jiang Family, would likely struggle for a meal if not for his betrothal to Lu Zhiyao.
How did Jiang Hao manage to acquire those high-level resources?
The group of people bowed their heads, none daring to utter a word at such a critical moment.
After some time, the family head watched on the public display as Jiang Hao skillfully fended off the triangular python, safeguarding the Blue Star team in the process. A smile, long absent, graced the patriarch's face.
"Well then, Jiang Hao is one of our own in the Jiang family. You great-uncles, quickly send some supplies to Jiang Hao."
...
Meanwhile, in the vast city of Iphario, the fierce battle with the triangular python resulted in countless injuries and deaths among the other nations.
Only Blue Star emerged unscathed!
In fact, two nations had lost all contenders for the resources and had to withdraw from the competition altogether!
For Jiang Hao, using his gardener skills to rescue people was just a walk in the park.
Later, he went on to construct an aerial vine bridge, effortlessly leading the Blue Star team across the toxic gas-laden ruins. They were the first to reach the gates of the Magic Building.
