C20 I Want to See Where You Can Run To!!
Zhang Ze couldn't stand idly by as the Rock Goblin made its escape.
Without hesitation, he commanded the swiftest of his Summon Monsters, the Violent Rabbit, to pursue the Goblin.
This particular Violent Rabbit was Zhang Ze's inaugural summon, now at level 3. Its attack power had tripled, making it one of Zhang Ze's preferred allies for its high damage output and rapid speed in battle.
Upon receiving Zhang Ze's order, the Violent Rabbit bounded into the forest after the Rock Goblin. Meanwhile, Zhang Ze and his other monsters focused on the formidable Sword-shield Goblin.
The Sword-shield Goblin proved its mettle in close combat, enduring a ten-minute onslaught from the horde before succumbing.
Following the battle, Zhang Ze promptly summoned the Sword-shield Goblin and reviewed its stats.
Sword-shield Goblin (Rakshasa)
Level: 1 (MAX 5)
Experience: 1/10
Blood Volume: 450
Attack: 240-290
Defense: 300
Skills: None
"The Sword-shield Goblin's attack and defense are exceptional; it's truly a beast of the third tier of the Devil Domain," Zhang Ze exclaimed, thoroughly impressed.
By comparison, only the thrice-leveled Violent Rabbit could hold a candle to the Sword-shield Goblin's prowess.
Yet Summon Monsters have a level cap of five, meaning a fully-leveled Violent Rabbit barely matches a first-level high-tier Devil Domain monster. Consequently, as the game progresses, lower-tier monsters like the Violent Rabbit diminish in utility.
Zhang Ze surmised that even at its peak, the Violent Rabbit would only match a fifth-tier Devil Domain monster. Beyond that tier, the rabbit's effectiveness would be negligible.
"Why hasn't the Violent Rabbit come back yet?" Zhang Ze peered into the forest's depths, a sense of foreboding creeping over him.
Then, abruptly, a system alert flashed before his eyes:
"Your Violent Rabbit has perished!"
Shocked, Zhang Ze blurted out, "What on earth happened? How did my Violent Rabbit die?"
As Zhang Ze grappled with his uncertainty, a rush of dense footsteps erupted from the forest across from him!
Then, he saw a swarm of Goblins charging out of the woods straight towards him!
"The Rock Goblin has rallied its allies!" Panic surged through Zhang Ze. He hadn't anticipated the Goblins' high intelligence; not only did they flee, but they also called for reinforcements!
Watching the horde of Goblins bear down on him, Zhang Ze realized he was outmatched. Without hesitation, he spun on his heel and bolted, recalling his Summon Monsters as he fled.
Leaving his Summon Monsters out would likely lead to their total annihilation.
These were Zhang Ze's last Summon Monsters; he couldn't afford to lose them, particularly not the two formidable bosses.
Zhang Ze sprinted desperately until he reached the altar. The pursuing Goblins halted as they saw him retreat to the sanctuary, their cries filling the air.
"These Goblins actually know better than to come near the altar. They're too clever!" Zhang Ze clenched his jaw in frustration. He had hoped to use the nearby magic tower to eliminate a few Goblins, but his plan had fallen through.
The other players nearby were startled by the spectacle, having never witnessed so many Goblins in pursuit of an Adventurer.
"What on earth did he do to provoke such a mob of Goblins?"
"Did he kidnap a Goblin's wife or something?"
"Surely his taste isn't that poor?"
Zhang Ze tuned out the jeers and wild speculation of the onlookers. Seated on the altar, he rested while pondering his next move.
"These Goblins are too sly; they flee at the first sign of trouble and bring back a horde for backup. The best strategy is to cut off their escape route!" Mulling over his options, Zhang Ze stroked his chin, "How can I ensure they can't get away?"
Then it struck him – he had an excellent plan. Springing to his feet, Zhang Ze turned and dashed through the stone door.
"Which level of the Devil Domain are you headed to?"
Zhang Ze opted for the second level, the Damp Cave.
The landscape around him shifted dramatically. In an instant, Zhang Ze found himself on the altar of the Devil Domain's second level. Without hesitation, he dashed out in search of monsters.
Spotting two Poisonous Spiders in a corner, he immediately called forth the rest of his Summon Monsters to attack them!
After a fierce skirmish, Zhang Ze vanquished the two Poisonous Spiders and promptly added them to his team.
"A Hard Armor Turtle, a Sword-shield Goblin, two Poisonous Spiders, plus two bosses, and there are still four summoning slots available. But two Poisonous Spiders should suffice," Zhang Ze mused.
He then swiftly made his way back to the third level of the Devil Domain.
"You're not getting away this time, Rock Goblin!" Zhang Ze declared with confidence before leading his team onward.
He soon encountered two Goblins in the thick forest: one a Sword-shield Goblin, the other a Rock Goblin.
"Hard Armor Turtle, Sword-shield Goblin, and Iron Tooth Wolf, engage in close combat. Poisonous Spiders and Heaven Swallowing Frog, provide long-range support!"
Zhang Ze issued the assault command. The Summon Monsters roared and charged, clashing with the Goblins.
With the experience gained from previous battles, Zhang Ze commanded with greater finesse.
The Hard Armor Turtle and Sword-shield Goblin teamed up against their Sword-shield counterpart, while the Iron Tooth Wolf lunged at the Rock Goblin.
From a distance, the Poisonous Spiders and Heaven Swallowing Frog offered their support. The tide of battle quickly turned, with Zhang Ze's side gaining the advantage.
Before long, the Sword-shield Goblin fell, and the Rock Goblin's health dwindled to a mere tenth.
Seeing defeat imminent, the Rock Goblin turned tail to flee.
Zhang Ze chuckled coldly and commanded, "You can't run. Poisonous Spider, ensnare it with your web!"
Zhang Ze devised a clever strategy. Whenever the Goblins attempted to flee, he would summon a pair of Poisonous Spiders specifically to thwart their escape.
Upon receiving Zhang Ze's command, the Poisonous Spiders wasted no time, casting a massive web that ensnared the Goblins, rendering their struggles to break free futile.
"Let's have all the monsters attack this Rock Goblin together!"
At Zhang Ze's signal, the monsters converged on the Rock Goblin in a coordinated assault. It wasn't long before the Rock Goblin lay defeated.
"At last, I've wiped them all out!" Zhang Ze exhaled a deep breath of relief, then proceeded to summon the fallen Rock Goblin to join his ranks.

Blood Volume: 300
Attack: 290-330
Defense: 280

"This creature can inflict such tremendous damage!"
Staring at the Rock Goblin's stats, Zhang Ze was astounded. Its damage output was nearly on par with that of the Iron Tooth Wolf. No wonder the hits he took from it were so painful.
