C8 To Obey the Order
With two thunderous thuds, guards from the Red Maple Stronghold were catapulted through the air.
Yu Hu, gripping his long sword, fixed a furious gaze ahead, only to freeze in shock, struggling to believe his eyes.
A bloodied youth, his features obscured, approached from a short distance away.
Despite the youth's wounds, Yu Hu, puzzled by the situation, advanced with his sword at the ready.
"Trespassers of the Red Maple Stronghold must meet their end!"
With a battle cry, Yu Hu lunged at the youth, fully expecting to strike him down.
But with a dull thud, Yu Hu stood petrified, his eyes bulging in disbelief.
The battered youth, without sparing Yu Hu a glance, effortlessly caught the oncoming sword with one hand.
Yu Hu, momentarily taken aback, quickly shook off his astonishment.
With a sharp exclamation, he unleashed a surge of golden energy, attempting to wrestle the sword free.
To his amazement, before he could reclaim his weapon, the youth pivoted and delivered a punch straight to the blade.
A resounding clang echoed as the sword shattered into two pieces under the force of the blow.
Before Yu Hu could process the shock, the youth's leg swept up in a kick that sent him hurtling toward a wall, which crumbled upon impact.
Slumped against the damaged wall, Yu Hu spat blood, his complexion turning ghostly pale.
Sitting dazed on the ground, he stared at the severed sword in his hands, overwhelmed by the turn of events.
The blood-furred wolf's vicious claws had failed to break his sword earlier, yet the youth had done so effortlessly with a single, energized punch.
As Yu Hu regained his senses, he looked up to see the youth walking away, paying him no heed.
The youth's gaze was fixed intently on the blood-furred wolf, as if the members of the Red Maple Stronghold didn't even exist to him.
Upon noticing the numerous claw and fang marks scarring the youth's body, Yu Hu was struck by a sudden realization.
"How dare you harm Grandpa Hu! You're asking for death!"
A chorus of roars erupted as many from the Red Maple Stronghold charged to encircle the youth.
Despite being surrounded, the youth didn't miss a step, continuing his forward march.
"Red Maple Stronghold, heed my command. Stand down and let him pass!"
Upon hearing the order, the stronghold's members withdrew, giving the youth space.
Yu Hu rose slowly, his gaze fixed on the battered youth with a mix of seriousness and dread.
Could it be that the blood-furred wolf's severe injuries were inflicted by this very youth?
When had Conriston ever seen a youth of such formidable power? It was unprecedented.
Yu Hu might have preferred to stay out of Conriston's affairs, but that didn't mean he was out of the loop.
He was privy to news of any emerging young talent from any Conriston family.
Yet this black-haired youth, seemingly no older than ten, had managed to wound the blood-furred wolf?
A demonic beast in the late period of being Blessed, and this black-haired youth had bested it?
Witnessing the blood-furred wolf's reaction, Yu Hu was utterly astounded, rendered speechless.
The blood-furred wolf, spotting the approaching black-haired youth, tensed as if facing a formidable foe.
Against the Red Maple Stronghold's members and even Yu Hu, the wolf had charged without hesitation.
Now, it stood frozen, wary and seemingly fearful of something.
The youth, his body marred with wounds and his face smeared with blood, was none other than Zhang Hao in pursuit.
"Seal the door! Don't let it get away!"
Zhang Hao bellowed as he advanced toward the blood-furred wolf.
Hearing this, the Red Maple Stronghold's members glared at Zhang Hao in indignation.
A mere boy, and yet he expected them to follow his command?
"Red Maple Stronghold, to your positions! Seal off the exit!"
Yu Hu rose to his feet decisively, issuing commands without a moment's hesitation before striding towards the exit. Upon hearing Yu Hu's orders, the remaining members of the Red Maple Stronghold moved toward the gate.
At that moment, confusion and uncertainty clouded the minds of the stronghold's people; they couldn't fathom what was unfolding. Why would Tiger Lord heed the commands of a mere boy, barely into his teens?
Their bewilderment was palpable, yet it wasn't long before they began to grasp the situation. Just then, a thunderous roar erupted as the black-haired youth, fists swinging, charged at the blood-furred wolf.
The enraged beast snarled and swiped its claws, lunging forward in a fury. A resounding boom echoed as a figure was hurled through the air. The massive form flew over ten meters before slamming into a wall, which collapsed under the impact.
Standing amidst the rubble, the black-haired youth, his face smeared with blood, wore a twisted grin as he stared down the blood-furred wolf.
Witnessing such a spectacle, the Red Maple Stronghold's onlookers were struck dumb, their hearts pounding with fear. Moments ago, nearly a hundred of their members had besieged the blood-furred wolf, yet failed to inflict the slightest injury.
To their astonishment, the black-haired youth had managed to send the wolf flying with a single punch. Despite showing no outward signs of energy, how could he launch a creature in the Blessed Late Period through the air?
The memory of Tiger Lord being flung aside sent shivers down their spines. It was becoming increasingly clear that this black-haired youth's cultivation might surpass even that of Tiger Lord. Otherwise, why would Tiger Lord instantly comply upon hearing the youth's commanding shout?
