C17 This Is the Rhythm of Jumping off the Cliff
"Young Master Yeh, Ye Bufan... he seems to have gone to the backyard," stammered the Ye family's female disciple, her finger trembling as she pointed southward to Yeh Hongchen.
Yeh Hongchen, upon witnessing this, lightly tapped his toes on the stone tiles once more, and his body effortlessly soared into the sky, vanishing from the sight of all below.
Truly, Young Master Yeh was remarkable, his very presence as striking as his formidable reputation.
The female disciple who had just spoken with Yeh Hongchen blushed as she reflected on their exchange after he had departed.
Yun Xiaolan approached Ye Yuhang with a look of embarrassment and said, "Elder Ye, my sincerest apologies. Young Master Yeh has his pride, and his actions bear no reflection on the Yun family. I hope you won't take offense."
"Hmph, with the Yun family's might, how could I, Ye Yuhang, dare to be upset?" Ye Yuhang snorted coldly, then directed the Ye family members to tend to the wounded Ye Zuoming, Ye Mingyue, and Ye Yuzhe before he turned on his heel and strode away.
...
Yeh Hongchen felt no concern for Yun Xiaolan; he knew that his path was not meant to cross with those playing bit parts in this world.
He swiftly made his way to the backyard mentioned by the Ye family's female disciple and instantly spotted Ye Bufan heading toward the back mountain.
"The protagonist of this native world is perceptive indeed. But I'm curious about the nature of his 'golden touch'," Yeh Hongchen mused to himself. With a surge of Innate Spiritual Qi, he accelerated his flight and quickly positioned himself right above Ye Bufan.
Ye Bufan's face grew tense as he looked up at Yeh Hongchen, regretting the words he had earlier spoken in the hall. In his eyes, Yeh Hongchen was now the embodiment of pettiness, unable to tolerate his speech and seemingly intent on ending his life.
With a whoosh, a strong breeze swept through, lifting Ye Bufan's long hair as Yeh Hongchen landed before him.
"Ye Bufan, am I truly so fearsome?" Yeh Hongchen asked with a teasing tone.
The man before him was lean, his cultivation weak, his face delicate, and within his ordinary eyes lay a stubbornness that seemed indelible.
Certainly, he was unmistakably the protagonist.
"Yeh Hongchen!" Ye Bufan's face contorted with displeasure, and with a shout, he flung his hand in Yeh Hongchen's direction.
A surge of yellow mud and dust charged toward Yeh Hongchen.
Regrettably, they didn't even come close before a blue light shield intervened, blocking their path.
Prana!
This was something only attainable by those who had reached the Innate Stage. Naturally, those in the early Prana Stage couldn't project their aura, but it was possible at the Earthly Spirits Stage.
"Hmm? How intriguing." Yeh Hongchen had fended off the dust, but Ye Bufan had already made considerable distance, leaving Yeh Hongchen momentarily bewildered.
With a whoosh, he took to the air once more, maintaining a ten-meter gap behind Ye Bufan.
Yeh Hongchen knew all too well the formidable strength of the protagonist's aura. If he pushed Ye Bufan too hard, there was a chance Ye Bufan might stumble upon some incredible stroke of luck.
And just like that, the tables could turn dramatically, with Yeh Hongchen potentially ending up on the receiving end of Ye Bufan's pursuit.
Never underestimate the protagonist's aura; it's as crushing as it claims to be!
Before long, a cliff materialized before Yeh Hongchen. Ye Bufan, as if guided by fate, headed straight for it.
Approaching the edge, he halted as though he had just realized it was a cliff.
Yeh Hongchen, with calculated precision, positioned himself to block the sole pathway leading back.
