C5 Fourth Sister's Support

"Young Master Han, this is truly a misunderstanding."

"Please, forgive us."

Han Hu offered his apology with earnest sincerity.

Zhao Han scanned the surroundings and guided Xu Qinya behind him, instructing, "Get in the car first."

Xu Qinya declined, "We'll go together."

Han Hu interjected, "Young Master Han, by all means, you can both go together. I assure you, it's just a misunderstanding."

The roar of a car engine filled the air.

A convoy of cars raced from a distance.

Over a hundred individuals disembarked, weapons in hand, and charged forward.

In no time, they had encircled Zhao Han.

Han Hu rose hastily and advanced, shouting, "What are you trying to do?"

The man in the suit at the forefront sneered as he cocked his gun.

"We can't rest easy until Zhao Han is dead."

He then trained the gun on Zhao Han and added, "Han Hu, don't take it personally that I'm cutting into your business, but this guy is just too valuable."

"You wouldn't dare!" Han Hu bellowed, drawing his gun in a flash and aiming it squarely at the man.

His men readied themselves instantly.

Han Hu's men did the same, poised for action.

The two groups stood in a tense standoff, on the brink of a fierce confrontation.

"Qin Biao, pay attention. The Lin family may have backed out, but they'll still pay up. Do you grasp the implications?"

Qin Biao's brow creased at Han Hu's revelation.

What could this mean?

"Chief Biao, he could be deceiving you," cautioned one of his men.

Without hesitation, Han Hu redirected his gun towards Qin Biao's associate.

"Today, anyone who lays a finger on Young Master Han will face my wrath!"

Qin Biao's expression darkened as he retorted, "Have you lost your will to live?"

No sooner had he spoken than Qin Biao fired a warning shot at Han Hu's feet.

The sound of the gunshot was the signal for Zhao Han to tightly embrace Xu Qinya and leap off the bridge.

Qin Biao's shot was meant merely as a scare tactic. Han Hu, concerned for Zhao Han's safety, was taken aback to see them plunge into the water.

Thus, Han Hu fired his weapon in response.

A fierce skirmish was about to unfold.

As the battle raged, many fell.

Beneath the bridge, Zhao Han wasted no time in getting Xu Qinya to safety onshore, swiftly taking cover beneath the bridge's abutment.

The night was pitch-black, the cold wind cutting through the silence.

Xu Qinya was soaked to the bone, shivering uncontrollably.

Zhao Han wrapped her in his embrace and reassured her, "It's okay, you'll warm up soon."

The bridge echoed with relentless gunfire. One by one, people were shot and fell into the river below.

Bodies were strewn everywhere; the toll of dead and wounded was staggering.

Xu Qinya's face had turned ghostly pale from fright.

Zhao Han remained composed. To him, this was minor compared to what he'd seen before—he'd been on a real battlefield.

Despite being just 19, he carried the weight of those experiences.

His phone rang unexpectedly.

Zhao Han was startled—it was Zhao Qianyu calling.

"Sister."

"Can you handle this?" Her voice was icy, laced with a lethal edge.

Zhao Han responded promptly, "Don't worry, Sister. I'm fine."

"Good. I've sent ten thousand mercenaries from your Third Sister. They'll arrive shortly."

His Third Sister, Zhao Qianlan, was a legend among mercenaries.

Zhao Han was taken aback.

"If ten thousand isn't enough, we'll send a hundred thousand. I'll talk to your Third Sister."

"Sister, what I meant was, I can't afford so many people."

"Are you out of money?"

"Why didn't you tell me you were out of money sooner? I'll have finance transfer a billion to you."

Zhao Han didn't get a chance to clarify.

His Fourth Sister was a woman of action. Once she'd made up her mind, there was no arguing.

Whether it was ten thousand mercenaries or a billion in funds, he had to accept.

After the call, Zhao Han felt overwhelmed.

He had come to Frost City to heal, not to be swarmed by an army.

But at least his Fourth Sister hadn't come in person—that would have been a disaster.

Zhao Yue was a deity in the legal realm.

Zhao Qianli, a titan of public opinion.

Zhao Qianyu, a goddess in the world of assassins.

She was ruthless, with no reverence for life.

And one of the Zhao family's direct daughters might very well end up as Zhao Han's wife—a chilling prospect.

Snapping back to reality, Zhao Han gave Xu Qinya's shoulder a gentle pat. "Stay put. I'm going to check things out."

Xu Qinya's heart raced with urgency as she quickly grabbed Zhao Han's arm. "Don't go, it's too dangerous."

"I'll be fine."

Zhao Han rose to his feet and made his way onto the bridge, leaving Xu Qinya in a state of shock.

The battle on the bridge was nearing its end amidst a chaotic sprawl of bodies. Only a handful of combatants, led by Han Hu and Qin Biao, remained in a standoff, ducking behind cover and exchanging gunfire.

Unfazed, Zhao Han snatched the gun from Qin Biao's grasp. In an instant, the barrel was pressed against Qin Biao's head, signaling the close of their deadly confrontation.

Qin Biao called out, and the firing ceased.

Han Hu approached swiftly. "Young Master Han."

Zhao Han nonchalantly tossed the gun to Han Hu. "Clean this up. Handle the rest without me; I'd rather stay out of it."

"Don't worry, Young Master Han. I'll ensure the aftermath is dealt with properly and won't cause you any further trouble," Han Hu assured him.

Qin Biao stood there, dumbfounded. Had the Lin family really canceled their hit?

How? Why?

Soon after, Zhao Han and Xu Qinya departed from the scene.

On their way, Zhao Han checked his phone and found a message from Zhao Yue.

"Lin Sheng has surrendered, offering up the heads of Lin Su and Master Lin himself."

The message was accompanied by a photo displaying the severed heads of Lin Su and Master Lin.

Zhao Han dialed Zhao Yue. "Sister, I'm safe, don't worry. Xu Qinya and I are on our way back."

"Could you arrange for Lin Sheng's release from jail? Yes, let him remain the head of the Lin family."

Xu Qinya, sitting beside him, was visibly pale and fraught with anxiety.

After hanging up, Zhao Han glanced her way. "Should I drop you off at home first?"

"Yes, please," she replied, her voice quivering.

Zhao Han offered a reassuring smile and lit a cigarette, taking a leisurely drag. "There's no need to fear me; I'm not going to harm you."

Xu Qinya could feel her cheeks burning.

"Do you need a girlfriend?"

"What?" she blurted out, quickly turning away from his piercing gaze.

Zhao Han eased off the accelerator. "Are you trying to flirt with me?"

"I've only just graduated," Xu Qinya declared with notable boldness.

Zhao Han's brow furrowed suddenly.

Ahead, in the night sky, dozens of helicopters sped towards them.

Each helicopter brimmed with mercenaries in full combat gear.

Then, Zhao Han's phone began to ring.

"Your orders, Young Master Han?"
