C16 Miraculous Untamed Tribe

"Doyen, what is the meaning of this?" Su Chen's voice shook slightly as he took in the scene before him. Dozens of figures had silently encircled him, and fear was evident in his tone.

The doyen, upon hearing Su Chen's words, realized that the tribe's manner of arrival had been quite impolite. Yet, he couldn't entirely blame his people; the news of a Celestial Being's appearance had sent them into a frenzy of excitement. And when they learned of the Celestial Being's abrupt disappearance, it was as if a bucket of icy water had been dumped over their heads, chilling their once-thriving excitement.

Raised on tales of the Celestial Being, they were indoctrinated from a young age with stories of this enigmatic figure, who had become the idol of many. Such an unexpected turn of events likely caught even the high priest off guard.

Sensing a disturbance in the aura within the Celestial Being's guest room, the Untamed Tribe members abandoned their meeting and rushed to catch a glimpse of the idol they had known since childhood. Su Chen's sudden appearance was hardly surprising; after all, a Celestial Being would naturally possess unique qualities.

"What are you all doing? Scram! Don't we have hunting to do in the village? Aren't there young ones to care for? Go about your business!"

The doyen could no longer contain his emotions, and a stream of long-unused vocabulary spilled forth. Since becoming doyen, he had always projected an image of wisdom and stability, a legacy passed down from his predecessors. The Untamed Tribe had a deep-seated penchant for combat, a trait inseparable from their way of life, yet they also required the guidance of a sage. It was essential for a tribe to have thinkers, and the doyen exemplified this role perfectly.

At his command, the room quickly emptied, leaving only a handful of people behind. It was then that the doyen noticed Su Chen wasn't alone; there was also an elderly man with grave injuries. Could it be that the Celestial Being was not alone? This was the doyen's immediate thought.

"Heavens, uh, Su Chen, who is this elderly gentleman?" the doyen inquired.

"Ah! Doyen, can you save him? He's on the brink of death!" Su Chen blurted out anxiously. He had already been delayed in the world of the Heavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre for so long, and this world had been shaken once more. If things continued this way, Zhang Sanfeng would surely perish.

Upon hearing this, the doyen stepped forward to Zhang Sanfeng and sent a wisp of spiritual power into his body to investigate. His brow furrowed, and he commanded, "Shou Kun, fetch a Star Herb at once."

"Yes, Doyen."

In less than two seconds, the Star Herb was in the doyen's hands. He rubbed the herb between his hands, transforming it into a liquid, which he then carefully applied over Zhang Sanfeng's chest wound. The gash began to heal visibly, sprouting new flesh.

Zhang Sanfeng's complexion flushed, appearing suddenly revitalized, which left Su Chen in awe. "He's healed? That's unbelievably miraculous!"

"Not good," the doyen muttered, his expression darkening upon seeing Zhang Sanfeng's color. He recognized the reaction; this was not recovery but a dire sign. Zhang Sanfeng was experiencing his final moments of false vitality.

The doyen supported Zhang Sanfeng, placing his hands on his back and channeling his own energy into him, aiding in the assimilation of the Star Herb's medicinal properties and the repair of his damaged organs.

Zhang Sanfeng's condition was largely due to his constitution, which was not much stronger than Su Chen's. The Star Herb's effects were mild for the Untamed Tribe, but for Zhang Sanfeng, it was an incredibly potent tonic, and his weakened state couldn't handle such a strong supplement.

After a quarter of an hour, Zhang Sanfeng's pallor returned to normal, a typical sign of convalescence. The wound on his chest had vanished, leaving only a patch of skin that appeared more tender than the rest.

"He has recovered," the doyen announced.

With a gentle withdrawal of his hands, the doyen helped Zhang Sanfeng to lie down and reassured Su Chen, "My young friend, there's no need for concern. This elder gentleman's health is no longer in jeopardy."

"Thank you so much, doyen," Su Chen said, breathing a sigh of relief. He was genuinely grateful to the benevolent-looking elder.

"No need for thanks. Since Su Chen brought him to us, he is a friend of the Untamed Tribe. It's a trifling matter, hardly worth mentioning."

A trifling matter? Su Chen's mouth twitched slightly. The man was nearly dead, and it was considered trivial? Is this what it means to be a master? But when did we become so familiar? It seems I was merely a lodger. We haven't met more than a few times, have we? And I vanished without a trace for a while, only to reappear suddenly. Aren't you all surprised? Well, perhaps that's not so surprising, given their dramatic entrance.

Nevertheless, Su Chen was pleased with the doyen's words. "Doyen, I'm at a loss for how to express my gratitude. This gentleman is a senior member of my family. Thank you for your assistance. We might need to impose on you a bit longer. If there's ever anything you need help with in the future, please don't hesitate to ask."

"No imposition at all, no imposition. Stay as long as you like," the doyen replied, his face lighting up with a warm smile.

"Then I am deeply grateful to you, doyen." Su Chen's fondness for the people of the Untamed Tribe grew immensely. Such hospitality was truly remarkable among these noble savages.

"No need for formalities. Since the gentleman is out of danger, I'll leave you to rest," the doyen said, realizing there was no further need for his presence. After all, there was a patient who needed his rest.

Once the doyen and his companions had departed, the room lapsed into quiet. Su Chen set down his backpack. He had invested a considerable sum in this wilderness survival gear, yet he hadn't used any of it. Carrying it around had become pointless.

Glancing at the still unconscious Zhang Sanfeng, Su Chen decided not to return to reality just yet. What if Zhang Sanfeng were to wake up after he left?

Hidden in the shadows, a dozen spiritual presences encircled the guest room.

"Doyen, is he truly a Celestial Being?" one of the presences inquired, unable to contain its curiosity.

"Almost certainly," the doyen responded, once again assuming his sagacious demeanor.

"Yet this Celestial Being's physique seems rather frail, not even on par with the children in our tribe," another spiritual presence remarked.

"Isn't this precisely what sets the Celestial Being apart?" Shou Kun responded. "Celestial Beings, those from beyond the heavens, remain a mystery to us all. Yet, considering how this individual arrived here silently and without notice, it's likely that he's the Celestial Being the High Priest spoke of."

"Do you believe he can truly help us reclaim our ancestors' splendor?"

"I'm not sure. But what's certain is that we can't afford to offend him. Whether he's a Celestial Being will become clear in time; truth has a way of revealing itself. For now, it's enough that we are aware of this. Let's keep it within our circle to avoid bringing any trouble upon our tribe."

"Understood, Patriarch."
