C23 Newbie Jiang Yuyan

"Old Hua, Old Hua," Xiaoyu'er called out as he caught up. It appeared that he had already taken care of the thugs at the Temptress Moon.

"Kid, that's not very sportsmanlike of you, snatching someone away without a proper introduction. Are you smitten with this lady?" Xiaoyu'er launched into a verbal barrage.

Truth be told, Su Chen didn't find Xiaoyu'er's chatter bothersome when watching the TV series or reading the original story; he actually thought it was amusing. But experiencing it firsthand, he realized Xiaoyu'er could give Tang Sanzang a run for his money in the chatter department.

"Let's try not to hurt anyone," he instructed.

"Hey, old timer, are we really going to throw down now? Old Hua, you're up. I'll back you up," Xiaoyu'er said.

With a flourish of his fan, Hua Wuque made his move. But before he could complete his stylish action, Yang Guo had him in his grasp, as effortlessly as if he were picking up a small chicken. Meanwhile, Xiaoyu'er found himself in the clutches of Zhang Sanfeng.

Both Xiaoyu'er and Hua Wuque were stunned, unable to comprehend how they had been subdued so swiftly. It seemed the elder's strength was on par with, if not surpassing, that of the Master and the Second Master. They had truly encountered a formidable expert.

At Wudang, one of the revered Eight Great Sects, the current Head Abbott was in a state of utter panic. The Wudang founder had returned, an eventuality for which his predecessor had not prepared him. The founder was supposed to have ascended to immortality and not return! What was he to do? He was in dire need of advice.

Thankfully, the Immortal accompanying the founder explained that they had descended to the mortal realm on a mission and would return to the heavens upon its completion. This news allowed the Abbott to breathe a sigh of relief.

Jiang Yuyan's eyelashes fluttered as she slowly came to. The first thing she saw was a face, prompting a sharp scream as she quickly wrapped herself in the blanket. She looked at Su Chen with wide, panicked eyes, as if he had wronged her in some way.

Su Chen was at a loss for words. Did he really look that untrustworthy? "Hey, miss, you're overreacting! Rest assured, I have no interest in you. Could you please not look at me as if I've done something terrible?"

"Who are you? Why am I here? What is this place?"

"I'm Su Chen. You're on Wudang Mountain. You were here because I rescued you! You were attempting suicide yesterday. With my heroic spirit, how could I stand by and watch? In a flash, I kicked through the roof and saved you," Su Chen declared, his face unflushed, his heart steady.

"Is that so? But why did I pass out?" inquired Jiang Yuyan, her curiosity piqued.

"Well, you see, you slipped and fell. Have you forgotten?"

Jiang Yuyan rubbed her head, feeling a heavy fog clouding her memory, unable to recall yesterday's events. "I'm deeply grateful to you, Young Master Su Chen. Your kindness to me will never be forgotten. Once I locate my father, I will surely repay you."

"Ah, by the way, Miss, I haven't asked where you're from. Would you like me to escort you home?" Su Chen suddenly remembered he hadn't inquired about the home of the person he had saved and had brought her back to Wudang in confusion.

As soon as Su Chen posed the question, the young girl's eyes brimmed with tears.

"Hey, hey, no need to cry, beautiful. Let's talk this out, okay?"

"I have no home left. My mother passed away, and before she died, she gave me a sachet and told me to find my father."

Such a cliché scenario, Su Chen thought, frowning. Following this narrative, the girl's father was bound to be someone important, a trope overplayed in television dramas.

"Who is your father? With the Wudang Sect's resources, we should be able to assist you." Regardless of the story's dramatics, he was determined to help.

"Truly? My father is the renowned warrior Jiang Biehe. Can you really help me, Young Master Su Chen?" Jiang Yuyan exclaimed, a glint of pride shining in her eyes as she spoke her father's name.

"Jiang Biehe." A thunderous realization struck Su Chen, "You're Jiang Yuyan."

"Yes, do you know of me?" Jiang Yuyan asked, intrigued.

"No, no, I don't," Su Chen quickly refuted, his eyes wide with astonishment as he scrutinized the woman before him, causing Jiang Yuyan to clutch the blanket around her a little tighter.

Jiang Yuyan is a formidable character, a highly successful antagonist in the TV series who killed off characters until only the title remained. The female lead is incredible, right? Jiang Yuyan took out both Majesties of the Flower Palace. She left the protagonist in a dire state, supported only by the ever-present hero's aura. One was severely injured by Jiang Yuyan, and the other was beaten into a coma. Indeed, it was Xiaoyu'er and Hua Wuque, confined in the adjacent room. Had Jiang Yuyan not softened her heart in the end, the series would no longer be called "Xiaoyu'er and Hua Wuque" but rather "The Legend of Jiang Yuyan."

"Young Master, what's troubling you?" Jiang Yuyan inquired gently upon noticing Su Chen's prolonged silence.

"Ah, it's nothing. I'm just a bit stunned. I know where your father is. The pretender, no, the Righteous Hero, Jiang Biehe, is known to all in the martial arts world!" Su Chen quickly gathered his thoughts.

"Is that so?" Jiang Yuyan exclaimed with joy, "Then can you take me to my father? He will surely reward you."

Looking at the woman before him who hadn't yet succumbed to darkness, Su Chen found it hard to be harsh. "I can take you to Jiang Biehe, but, and I mean but, your father might not be the man you think he is. He could be a hypocrite, a man who cowers before his wife. Are you sure you want to meet him?"

"How dare you speak of my father that way! He is a hero, the Righteous Hero, Jiang Biehe, recognized by all in the martial arts world!" The young lady instantly became furious, glaring at Su Chen.

"Okay, okay, you win. Tomorrow, I'll have a disciple from the Wudang Sect escort you back to the Jiang family," Su Chen conceded helplessly. He then pondered for a moment, searched his person, and produced a mobile phone. "Take this as a token of my word. If you ever find yourself in trouble, use this to reach out to the Wudang Sect. They will assist you." Su Chen was, after all, indebted to her and was willing to offer whatever help he could.

Jiang Yuyan eyed the peculiar object with intrigue. One side was set with glass, offering a clear reflection of one's face, while the other was adorned with intricate patterns, clearly no ordinary artifact.

"This is for me?"

"Yes, take it. You might find it useful in the future," Su Chen replied.

Meanwhile, Xiaoyu'er and Hua Wuque were not restrained and enjoyed a certain degree of freedom, yet they dared not leave the room. With Yang Guo present, the thought of escape didn't even cross their minds.

"Your martial arts are quite unique," Yang Guo commented.

"Unique? In what way is it unique? How so?" Xiaoyu'er began to ramble.

"I wasn't referring to you, but to our young friend Hua here."

"Senior, I hail from the Flower Palace, and naturally, I practice the martial arts of my sect," Hua Wuque responded coolly.

"The Flower Palace, an intriguing sect indeed," Yang Guo said with a light laugh. He had noticed from Hua Wuque's movements that the martial arts he wielded were of a highly advanced level, certainly on par with the Solar Mantras.

Their Majesty of the Flower Palace seemed to have a penchant for collecting unparalleled martial arts, which was why Yang Guo had inquired.
