C10 I Am Going to be Blinded by Jealousy
In the Gaya Kingdom, nestled among the rolling hills, lies Windmill Village. This quaint hamlet is much like Rob's Village—serene and harmonious, seldom disturbed by Pirate raids. It is the birthplace of the Navy Hero and the prophesied Pirate King.
The sight of a warship moored at the dock was familiar to the villagers, a sign that their celebrated Navy Hero, Garp, had returned home.
As a Pirate Ship approached and docked, Garp's navy, invigorated by his presence, readied their weapons and aimed their cannons at the intruding vessel. However, when Garp's right-hand man, Bogart, caught sight of Rodney standing proudly at the ship's bow, he immediately signaled his men to hold their fire.
"Adjutant Bogart," Rodney called out in greeting.
The Pirate Ship came to a halt, and the pirates aboard paled, having endured Rodney's iron-fisted rule for over a fortnight. Their ruthless captor had instilled deep fear in them. They had hoped to reclaim their freedom once they rid themselves of this tyrant, but to their dismay, they found themselves delivered straight into the hands of the navy.
"Mr. Joestar," Bogart acknowledged with a nod, returning the greeting. Rodney replied with a smile, "Adjutant Bogart, these fellows are now your responsibility. There's not a single Pirate whose hands are clean."
"Understood, and thank you for your gallant intervention," Bogart said, promptly directing his men to apprehend the pirates. They offered no resistance, knowing it would be futile, and resigned themselves to the navy's custody, awaiting their transfer to prison once Garp departed.
"Is this Vice Admiral Garp's grandson? You've actually managed to capture him," Bogart remarked with surprise, noting Ace's sullen expression and slightly plumper cheeks.
Ace had indeed filled out since Rodney had apprehended him. Without any exercise during the journey and with attendants catering to his every need, he had indulged in fine food and drink. But Rodney knew that a bit of rigorous training would quickly melt away the extra weight.
Ace's appetite had been a force to reckon with, equivalent to feeding an entire crew. Rodney had even hunted down two small Sea King Species to satisfy his voracious hunger during their travels.
"Yes, where might I find Vice Admiral Garp? I've brought back his eldest grandson," Rodney inquired.
"The Vice Admiral is at the village's sole tavern," Bogart informed him.
"Alright, Ace, we're leaving."
"No, I don't want to see that stinky old man!" Ace attempted to resist Rodney with the little strength he had, but to no avail, as he was shackled with Sea Building Stone handcuffs. How could he possibly stand a chance against Rodney?
"Are these Sea Building Stone handcuffs? Has Vice Admiral Garp's grandson also become an Ability User?"
"Yes, he's a Nature Type. It took quite an effort to catch him. And these Sea Building Stone handcuffs? I borrowed them from Colonel Smoker after he put a bounty on my head—three million Belle, so..." Rodney trailed off, giving Bogart an apologetic look that said it all.
Bogart chuckled and reassured him, "No worries. It's quite simple to cancel a bounty under ten million. I'll notify the authorities to revoke your warrant. I'm honestly surprised you managed to capture a Nature Type Ability User."
They had spent a few days together on a ship and knew Rodney lacked the imposing presence often needed to face a Nature Type, so it was a shock to see him successfully apprehend Ace.
"Haha, it's all about luck. I'm off now. I'll leave the rest to you." Rodney hoisted Ace over his shoulder, who continued to struggle futilely.
"Ace? Isn't that Ace?" The village wasn't large, and the locals at the port recognized him immediately. He had only been gone a few months, and they couldn't fathom why he would return so abruptly, especially in custody.
"Excuse me, sir, could you direct me to the tavern?" Rodney asked an elderly man dressed in a yellow shirt adorned with hearts.
The old man pointed and instructed, "Go that way, turn right, and it's the third house. But why are you holding him?"
"Holding him? His grandfather asked me to," Rodney replied without hesitation.
The Ace brothers were raised in this village, and the idea of harming them was unfathomable to the kind-hearted villagers who had watched them grow up.
"Vice Admiral Garp? Go ahead then." The elder pieced it together and stepped aside, exchanging a smile with Ace on Rodney's shoulder, which made Ace feel even more uneasy.
He had left the village full of dreams and ambition, but now he returned in such a disgraceful state, having lost all his dignity.
This wasn't how Ace had pictured it. He was supposed to return as the Pirate King, to show everyone in the village just how far he'd come. He, Ace, once just a kid in their eyes, had intended to surpass his father—a man he both admired and resented.
"Hey! Rodney, let me go! I don't want to be back here!" Ace had gotten to know Rodney over the past few days, but no matter what he said, Rodney remained unmoved, often silencing him with food.
"I'm sorry, Ace. I appreciate your help with my Six Moves. There will be no hard feelings after this," Rodney said.
"Jerk! You've dragged me back here; of course, there are hard feelings! Once I get out of these handcuffs, I'm going to give you a beating you won't forget!" Ace fumed, his gaze sweeping over the familiar surroundings and the villagers, his embarrassment and anger growing.
"This is it, right?" They hadn't even stepped into the tavern when they heard Garp's booming voice, "Luffy, you Bad Boy! How many times must I tell you to become a great Navy Hero? Take my fist of love!"
"Ow! Grandpa!" A young man's cry of pain was accompanied by a gentle woman's plea, "Vice Admiral Garp, please, that's enough. You've swollen Luffy's face with your hits."
Upon hearing that Luffy's face was swollen, Ace yelled, "You old coot, hitting Luffy again! Rodney, let me go! I need to protect Luffy!"
Rodney entered, setting Ace down, and addressed the old man snoring at the bar, fist raised, "Vice Admiral Garp, I've brought the person you asked for."
The tavern owner, Makino, was astonished to see Ace. "Ace? Weren't you out at sea?"
"Ace?" The other patrons echoed in surprise.
With a loud pop, Garp's snoring bubble burst and he awoke. "Oh no, I dozed off." He glanced at his grandson, still deep in slumber, and landed another punch. "When will you wake up, Luffy?"
"Ah! That hurts! Let me go!" Luffy, having been on the receiving end of his grandfather's fists since childhood, showed no will to resist, a testament to the deep psychological imprint Garp had left on him.
"Old man, release Luffy now!" Ace, feeling completely drained and weak, could only resort to shouting to threaten Garp.
Both Garp and Luffy had their attention captured by him—Garp with delight, and Luffy with shock.
"Hahaha, nicely done! Mr. Rodney, you've completed your task brilliantly. How about joining the Navy and teaming up with me?" Garp roared with laughter upon seeing Ace bound, thoroughly pleased with Rodney's handiwork.
As he chuckled, a system notification confirmed the mission's completion. The Great Fire was extinguished, the Three-magatama Sharingan was acquired, and 800 Mission Points were secured.
A unique Chakra emerged within his brain, converging towards his eyes, causing Rodney an intense soreness. He couldn't resist rubbing them, and as he did, they reddened.
Three black Magatama began to orbit his pupils, filling his gaze with malevolence and foreboding, which made Garp pause and ask, "Mr. Rodney, what's going on with your eyes?"
"Oh, it's nothing. They just do this from time to time." With the Sharingan now in his possession, Rodney saw the world anew. Every movement around him seemed to slow down dramatically. Though not a member of the Uchiha Family, the system had enabled a perfect synergy with these eyes. He just needed time to adjust to the decelerated world before him.
Looks like I've caught red-eye!
"Release Ace!" Luffy broke free from Garp's grasp, and upon seeing Ace tied up on the ground, his arm stretched out at lightning speed, aiming a punch at Rodney.
To Rodney, Luffy's swift attack appeared leisurely, like a butterfly flitting through the air.
He sidestepped and caught Luffy's arm, using the momentum to hurl him out of the tavern.
This all transpired in the blink of an eye, with Rodney deftly utilizing his newfound powers of perception.
