C8 You Are Questioning My Words!
Chu Koichi let out a cold sneer as he regarded Gong Lizi with a look of utter contempt.
Gong Lizi remained silent.
For anyone else, perhaps there might have been a chance, but this was Chu Koichi!
Chu Koichi was the future hope of Grass Village. In the eyes of the Grass Kage, it was clear who held the upper hand when compared to her.
"Kid, weren't you full of bravado a moment ago? Daring to question me to my face. Do you think you have the right to question me?"
When Gong Lizi fell silent, Chu Koichi let out a sinister laugh and delivered a kick that sent Guan Shang, who had just challenged him, flying four or five meters. Crumpling to the ground, Guan Shang clutched his stomach, his face ashen, with blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
The onlookers hastily stepped back, not daring to come close or utter a single word.
They averted their gazes, acting as if they had seen nothing.
Such was the way of the Ninja World!
It was a world where the strong devoured the weak, and the powerful were revered. Without the status of a Ninja, one's life was worth less than that of grass.
"Mr. Chu, I admit my mistake. Please, spare my life!" Guan Shang pleaded with difficulty.
"Spare you? That's laughable. I, Chu Koichi, never leave anyone alive. Surviving under my foot could make you famous far and wide. But sadly, I wonder if you can endure my second kick?"
Chu Koichi's cruel smile conveyed his sense of superiority, as he looked down on Guan Shang with less regard than one would give a dog.
At this sight, the crowd withdrew even further.
They feared being dragged into the fray.
Even Gong Lizi couldn't help but furrow her brow before turning away, choosing to ignore the scene.
Guan Shang might have been one of the only two orphans to pass the test, but what did that matter now?
Having crossed Chu Koichi, not even she could expect a favorable outcome, much less him.
"You are utterly reprehensible. Guan Shang merely crossed you once, and yet you're ready to strike him down mercilessly. Is this the behavior of a Ninja? If so, what's the point of being one?"
But just as everyone else was steering clear, Jin Mengzi boldly stepped forward, helped Guan Shang to his feet, and coldly confronted Chu Koichi.
"Oh no!"
Upon witnessing the scene, Jin Cou leapt into action, pulling his naive sister to safety before dropping to his knees and bowing deeply to Chu Koichi.
"Mr. Chu, my sister doesn't know any better. Please, have mercy on her!"
"Haha, it looks like I've been away for too long if a mere child thinks they can provoke me. All three of you are going to die. You'll learn what happens when you cross Mr. Chu!"
Chu Koichi, however, seemed unphased. With a twisted smile and a menacing look, he ignored the plea.
"Mr. Chu, they are the only two who passed the test. You could kill one, but you'll have to answer to Lord Grass Kage for the other!"
Gong Lizi interjected, unable to hold back.
"Are you doubting my words?"
Chu Koichi remained indifferent, giving Gong Lizi a piercing stare.
After a brief standoff, Gong Lizi sighed and looked away, unable to watch what was about to unfold.
He had backed down.
In the entire village, no one could stop Chu Koichi from doing what he wanted.
At that moment, Chu Koichi began forming hand seals, ready to unleash a Ninja Technique to dispatch the three of them.
"Oh no!"
Seeing this, the orphans scattered, running as far away as they could.
"Mr. Chu, using a cleaver to kill a chicken is overkill. Wasting a Ninja Technique on these three pests is beneath you. Allow me to handle this."
The black-clothed teenager behind Mr. Chu scoffed, kunai in hand, as he approached the trio on the ground.
Chu Koichi simply smiled and released the hand seal he had been holding.
