C76 I will Kneel down and Apologize
Lin Xuan released Qi Jiaguo's wrist, which was now swollen from the tight grip. Wincing in pain and shaking his hand, Qi Jiaguo snarled through clenched teeth, "You're done for, kid. You think you can lay a hand on me? I'll make sure you spend the rest of your life crippled!"
Without missing a beat, Qi Jiaguo whipped out his phone and dialed furiously. "Boss Loong," he bellowed, "some punk at the Central Hospital is mouthing off to me. Get over here with the crew and take him down!"
Meanwhile, Lin Xuan quietly pulled out his own phone and shot a brief text to Qin Hu: "Get to the Central Hospital. Someone's looking to take me out."
Qin Hu wasted no time, calling back instantly, "Big bro, who's the blind mutt that dared to mess with you?"
Lin Xuan responded with a cool detachment, "Cut the chatter. Just get here."
"On my way!" Qin Hu replied, ending the call and rallying his men.
Qi Jiaguo, seeing Lin Xuan pocket his phone, taunted him with a smirk, "Oh, copying me now? Let's see what kind of strays you can scrounge up."
With a cold laugh, Lin Xuan retorted, "You'll find out soon enough. They're the kind who can make your end a miserable one."
Qi Jiaguo doubled over, feigning laughter. "Oh man... you think you can make me die laughing? Just wait—I'll show you how tragic it can be to talk big to me!"
Sun Jianguo, meanwhile, was frantically trying to rise, pleading, "Mr. Lin, he's not messing around. She's out of your league. I don't want to see you get hurt. You better get out of here!"
But Lin Xuan just offered a serene smile. "No worries. He's not capable of much."
"You don't get it," Sun Jianguo insisted, his voice urgent. "His family's got serious clout. Ordinary folks can't just cross them..."
Unruffled, Lin Xuan chuckled. "Is that right? And what if I'm not just 'ordinary folks'?"
Soong Jiaoqian sneered with contempt. "Oh my god, I've finally met a real blowhard today. You're clueless about how to spell 'death.' Do you even know what the Qi family from North City is all about?"
Lin Xuan scoffed, "What his family does is irrelevant to me. What matters is that he's going to end up disabled—a permanent kind of disabled."
Pointing at her, he continued, "And as for you two, this pair of cheaters, you're not getting off scot-free either!"
Soong Jiaoqian's face darkened as she retorted, "Keep up that tough talk, and you'll regret it later. Not even your pleas for mercy on your knees will help you!"
Lin Xuan let out a cold laugh and said, "It's beyond me how a family could raise someone as low as you."
Turning to Sun Jianguo, he inquired, "Don't her parents care about her promiscuous behavior?"
Sun Jianguo replied, "I called her parents when I first got to the hospital."
"And what did they say?" Lin Xuan pressed.
Sun Jianguo, filled with indignation, recounted, "They said they wanted nothing to do with our issues. When I asked to borrow money for medical bills, they coldly wondered why I hadn't just died instead."
"Ever since we've been together, I've spent no less than a hundred thousand yuan on her family. Her dad once mentioned wanting to invest in funds, so I even lent him a hundred thousand."
"But now, her father, Soong Mingjiang, that old scoundrel, won't even acknowledge the hundred thousand I gave him. Her mother threatened to call the police if I kept bothering them!"
The more Sun Jianguo spoke, the more disheartened he became. "That's why I had no other option but to reach out to you, Mr. Lin."
Hearing this, Lin Xuan's anger flared. "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. A crooked stick will have a crooked shadow."
Soong Jiaoqian snapped back furiously, "How dare you insult me and my parents! Do you have a death wish?"
She then yanked on Qi Jiaguo's arm, pouting, "Guo, I don't care, you have to hit him for me!"
Qi Jiaguo nodded and was about to step forward when he hesitated.
He noticed that Lin Xuan was nearly a head taller than him, with a robust and muscular build, while he himself, a playboy accustomed to a life of indulgence, had long since been hollowed out by excess.
Picking a fight with Lin Xuan? That would be a farce. If Lin didn't pummel him into the ground, that would be a miracle.
Qi Jiaguo was well aware of his own limitations and had no desire to get thrashed before his backup even arrived. He soothingly stroked Soong Jiaoqian's delicate hand, reassuring her, "Don't fret, darling. Boss Loong will be here soon with reinforcements. Then, I'll give him a beating he won't forget, make him kneel and grovel for your forgiveness!"
Lin Xuan couldn't help but shake his head at the boastful display.
He then shot a text to Wang Baifa: "What's the Qi Family's story in North City?"
Wang Baifa responded promptly: "They're in the building materials trade, with a few small investment firms to their name. They've snagged some minor contracts in North City by cozying up to the bigwigs. Just a nouveau riche, really. Did they cross you?"
"Yes," Lin Xuan texted back. "Don't sweat this one. I need you on another task."
"Command me, Hall Master," Wang Baifa was quick to offer.
Lin Xuan instructed, "Take Qi Jiaguo's folks to the Central Hospital. Then, tap into the household registration network and dig up everything on a Soong Mingjiang from A City—that's Soong Jiaoqian's dad. Bring both parents to me."
"Got it. I'll locate them and bring them straight to you," Wang Baifa assured him.
"Good. Give those parents who failed at raising their kids a lesson, then bag them up and deliver them to me," Lin Xuan ordered.
"On it! I'm on it right away!"
Lin Xuan pocketed his phone, casting a glance at Qi Jiaguo and Dai Jiaoqian, "Soon, you'll all enjoy a family reunion!"
Qi Jiaguo let out a cold laugh, "Don't feed me your lines, kid. Once my crew gets here, they'll beat you so bad you'll be picking up your teeth off the floor, and then we'll see about slicing that tongue of yours!"
Lin Xuan smirked with contempt, "Well, they better hurry. I'm eager to see who's got the guts."
Just as Qi Jiaguo was about to speak again, the hospital room door was violently kicked open. A rush of air followed as a dozen burly men with tattoos stormed in, their faces twisted with menace and their presence overwhelming.
Qi Jiaguo called out to the one in charge, "Boss Loong, perfect timing!"
Pointing at Lin Xuan, he barked, "This is the fool. Take him down for me!"
Boss Loong, leading the pack, spat on the floor and brandished a dagger, his eyes icy as he demanded, "So you're the punk who crossed my brother?"
Lin Xuan offered a slight smile, inquiring, "Oh? So you're stepping in for him?"
"Cut the crap. Which gang are you with?" Boss Loong demanded, his stare piercing.
"I'm Lin Xuan," he replied coolly. "Feel free to tack 'brother' onto that if it pleases you."
Boss Loong burst into laughter. "No connections, huh? Just a nobody! And you dare to raise your voice at me?"
Soong Jiaoqian chimed in hastily, "Boss Loong, this nobody is just a live-in son-in-law."
"A freeloader?" Boss Loong sneered. "Fine. I'll start by cutting off your manhood. Let's see how you'll freeload then!"
Qi Jiaguo sneered at Lin Xuan, "Kid, you see my power now? Taking you out will be child's play!"
Lin Xuan ignored him, instead addressing Boss Loong directly, "Kneel and apologize now, and you might just save yourself."
"What the hell!" Boss Loong laughed, glancing around at his crew before fixing a fierce look on Lin Xuan. "Am I hearing things? Say it again, and I swear you won't walk out of here!"
Just then, a furious roar erupted from behind, "Little Chicken Ballon! Have you lost your mind? Get on your knees for Mr. Lin, now!"
Boss Loong stiffened. That voice... could it be Master Hu had arrived?!!
