C91 Who Do You Think You Are?
Lin Xuan massaged his temples, not having anticipated the grand display Qin Hu had put on just to curry favor with him.
Meanwhile, Wai Daxiong, Sun Daoming, and Wai Daxiong's entourage of flunkies were all kneeling on the ground, their faces the color of ash, shaking uncontrollably. They still hadn't grasped the severity of the formidable force they had crossed!
Lin Xuan addressed Qin Hu with a calm indifference, "I called for you, and you show up with an entourage fit for a movie set?"
Qin Hu, sheepishly scratching his head, replied, "The moment I heard someone was challenging you, I feared trouble and called in all the guys."
"Don't let it happen again," Lin Xuan stated flatly.
"Yes, I've got it, Master Hu," Qin Hu acknowledged.
Qin Hu then turned a stern gaze upon Wai Daxiong and the others, querying, "What should we do with these scumbags? Maybe Little Tiger should just bury them alive, one by one. It'll be clean and quick!"
At the mention of being buried alive, Wai Daxiong's face drained of color, and he desperately cried out, "Master Hu, have mercy, please!"
"I was in the dark, completely duped by Sun Daoming! I realize my mistake, Master Hu..."
Sun Daoming, equally terrified, blurted out, "It wasn't me! I swear it wasn't me! Big brother... no, I mean, sir, I beg you, spare my life!"
In comparison to Qin Hu, Wai Daxiong's power was laughably insignificant. He could never have imagined that standing up for a friend would land him in such dire straits. Had he known the consequences, he would never have dared to confront Lin Xuan, even under threat of death.
Qin Hu paid no mind to Wai Daxiong's begging. His eyes were fixed on Lin Xuan, awaiting the next command.
As Wai Daxiong and Sun Daoming continued their desperate pleas, Lin Xuan's annoyance grew. He casually dug at his ear and said, "Enough of their racket. Silence them."
"Right away," Qin Hu responded instantly.
He then signaled to his henchmen, "Give them a good thrashing in the mouth, and don't stop until they've lost their ability to speak!"
The words struck terror into Wai Daxiong and Sun Daoming, prompting them to plead desperately, "Please, Master Hu... I realize my mistake, Master Hu, spare us!"
"Master Hu, I'm with Boss Cheng after all. For his sake, could you let me off the hook?"
Mention of Boss Cheng only served to inflame Qin Hu's rage. "You dare bring up that fool? He means nothing to me! Give him a good thrashing!"
Enforcers stepped forward, seized Wai Daxiong and Sun Daoming by the hair, and unleashed a barrage of blows upon their faces, the sound of slaps ringing out like a hail of coins.
Before long, their faces were bloodied, teeth shattered, with blood and spit trailing down their chins.
It was then that Lin Xuan spoke up, "Qin Hu, have your men withdraw, and clear out the bystanders too. We don't want this getting out—it wouldn't look good for you."
"Rest assured," Qin Hu responded promptly, "I've already handled everything outside, which is why I arrived later than these fools."
"Nobody will interfere with today's events, nor will it reach the press."
"Good," Lin Xuan nodded, "Your efficiency is commendable."
Upon hearing the praise, Qin Hu beamed, "Thank you, sir! Little Tiger will strive to do even better!"
"I'll have the others disperse right away and remove these two scoundrels. They won't trouble you any further."
Lin Xuan commanded, "Do it. And make sure they cough up every penny they've stolen from the hospital and extorted from the people."
"Any issues with that?"
"Not at all!" Qin Hu nodded eagerly, proud to serve his boss.
"Very well, I await your report," Lin Xuan stated coolly.
"Boss... No! Please, have mercy! We beg you, don't do this again, give us another chance..." Wai Daxiong and Sun Daoming wailed, prostrate and kowtowing in a flood of tears.
Lin Xuan, irritated, gestured dismissively for Qin Hu to take them away.
He had only intended to settle a medical disturbance, but these two fools had blindly picked a fight with him. They had no one to blame but themselves.
It was entirely their own doing. Qin Hu's men dragged the two away without resistance.
Peering through the door cracks, some of the hospital's doctors and nurses witnessed the entire ordeal, which left a profound impact on their psyche.
Despite the intimidating presence of Qin Hu and his crew, they refrained from damaging any hospital property or harming a single person there.
And yet, how much clout must this seemingly average family member of a patient wield to handle both the notorious doctor Sun Daoming and the thug Wai Daxiong, who had long loomed over them?
Moreover, Master Qin, a prominent figure in A City, was bending over backward to please him.
Clearly, this individual had an extraordinary background.
They all discreetly noted the patient's bed number and name, Pei Qiang, ensuring they treated him with the utmost respect.
Such is human nature!
At times, a show of force can be simpler and more effective than logic!
Having dealt with the two individuals, Qin Hu returned to the hospital's rooftop.
Lin Xuan stood there, gazing into the distance, with Qin Hu attentively by his side, awaiting his words.
Truth be told, Qin Hu was clueless about Lin Xuan's true identity; he only knew that Lin Xuan was Wang Baifa's superior, which made him the ultimate boss.
After a pause, Lin Xuan inquired, "Qin Hu, where do you think you stand in the pecking order of A City with your capabilities?"
Qin Hu pondered before responding cautiously, "Boss, I'd say I could make it into the top three, if not the top five."
He knew to remain humble before his boss.
Privately, he believed his influence in A City was nearly unmatched, with few capable of surpassing him.
"Top five?" Lin Xuan asked with a sidelong glance. "Do you truly believe you hold that much sway in A City?"
After a moment's thought, Qin Hu ventured, "Top ten, at least, right?"
Lin Xuan fixed his gaze on him and countered, "What if I told you that with your current level of strength, you wouldn't even rank in the top ten? Would you agree with my assessment?"
Caught off guard, Qin Hu stammered, "Ah, well... if Boss says so, then it must be true!" he quickly agreed.
His gaze betrayed his skepticism; he clearly wasn't convinced.
Lin Xuan offered a slight smile and inquired, "Remember how you were begging for my help in tears last time, or has that slipped your mind already?"
Qin Hu scratched his head and replied, "Uh... well, last time there was interference from outside forces. But within this city, Little Tiger still holds sway."
Lin Xuan responded calmly, "What I'm talking about when I say 'strength' is the combination of your influence, wealth, and resources. It's not just about the number of people you can muster. Being the biggest fish isn't that simple."
"Get it?"
