C2 Han Feng's Background
"Father, I already told you not to wait for me. Now the food is already cold," Han Feng said helplessly as he strolled in.
Han Tiancheng, Han Feng's good-looking father, was the fourth son of Han Yu, the Han Family Head. His aptitude wasn't quite exemplary, and he had only reached Four-star Human Rank.
Han Tiancheng held the same strength as Instructor Lin and he wasn't necessarily the weakest in the family. Moreover, being a direct descendant of the Han family had its advantage since his cultivation resources were much more top-notch than that of Instructor Lin. Not to mention his status as the Family Head's son.
Although Han Tiancheng's aptitude wasn't well-equipped, he had easy access to a wide range of cultivation resources.
It seemed that Han Tiancheng's Four-star Human Rank didn't measure up at all. Above Han Tiancheng were three brothers. The weakest of them was Eight-star Human Rank while the strongest reached Nine-star.
It wouldn't be an issue if it were the only concern. However, Han Tiancheng did something bold that resulted in a tremendous loss to the Han family. Things got even worse when his action caused Han Feng to be frowned upon by the entire Han family.
Han Feng felt powerless each time this matter was raised.
Han Tiancheng lost his confidence because of his aptitude. He became introverted and even a little wimpy. On one training trip, he met a lovely young woman from a large family and fell in love with her at first glance.
Han Tiancheng knew that he wasn't worthy of such a woman, so he followed her secretly as she went hiking up the mountain. He was extremely fortunate. She got poisoned by a powerful Devil Beast after she managed to kill it. This woman was determined to cultivate martial arts and wasn't interested in love. Virginity was nothing important to her. So, when she realized the presence of Han Tiancheng, she had sex with him straight off in order to save her life. When they were done, she just left him there alone.
But what happened afterward was beyond belief. Startlingly, the woman got pregnant in one fell swoop.
Although this woman was hell-bent on martial cultivation, she was also all agog to the life inside her womb, so she decided to keep the child. Her family soon found out about the incident. Luckily, they weren't bothered about her lost innocence, or the Han family would have been wiped out. However, the Han family still paid a substantial sum of money to address the issue.
For everything that had happened, everyone neglected to consider that Han Tiancheng was the one who was coerced to do so.
This woman was Han Feng's birth mother, who chose to protect him in her womb.
When Han Feng was born, his aptitude was only at the Level-four of the Lower-grade.
In Renzhong City, there were very few people below the Lower-grade. Those at the third level of the Lower-grade and above could hardly be seen in public. They often ignored all discussions concerning the aptitude level of Martial Cultivators in the Lower-grade. After all, it was deemed inappropriate to keep calling out someone to be inferior to them.
However, in the household of Han Feng's mother, even the first level of the Lower-grade was treated like trash. Only those at the Upper-grade were given importance.
A person's aptitude was divided into four grades: Lower-grade, Medium-grade, Upper-grade, and Top-grade. Every grade was divided further into nine levels. So there was a total of thirty-six levels. The first level was the highest, and the ninth level was the lowest of all.
Aside from Han Feng's poor aptitude, his mother also thought about his delicate position in her family, so she sent him to live with his father. Sure enough, Han Feng's Fourth-level Aptitude of Lower-grade, which wasn't appreciated by his mother's family, caught the attention of the Han family.
The last three levels of the Lower-grade meant that the Martial Cultivator could easily break through to the Human Rank if he had the proper Cultivation Method. Meanwhile, having Third-level Aptitude of the Lower-grade could prove advantageous to a Martial Cultivator in advancing to the Middle Upper-grade in the Human Rank.
For someone with Upper Third Grade Aptitude, he could likely break through to the Human Rank and eventually end up as a Mystic Rank expert. He only needed the proper Cultivation Method and much in-depth training to gain more experience.
For one with Human-class Fourth-level Aptitude, he might fail in breaking through to the Mystic Rank, but he was, at least, a Human Rank 9 Stars cultivator. Given the right training and adequate support of his family, he could ultimately reach Human Rank 10 Stars or higher levels.
At present, the strongest cultivator in the Han family was Human Rank 10 Stars. How could they even turn a blind eye to Han Feng?
Unfortunately, the Han family's top echelons found out that there was an issue with Han Feng's body. He couldn't produce any Internal Strength at all. For unexplained reasons, his Internal Strength often disappeared inexplicably.
Consequently, they didn't consider Han Feng to be exceedingly special.
Despite the discontent that Han Yu and the others felt toward Han Feng, they never dared to neglect him since his mother was born into a large family. Only those of Han Feng's age might secretly despise him.
...
Han Tiancheng gazed at his son guiltily. Of course, he also saw how the Han family scorned his son.
Under his father's guilt-ridden eyes, Han Feng finished his breakfast gloomily. He didn't care about the antipathy thrown at him. But no matter how much he talked his father into it, Han Tiancheng continued to feel culpable. After quite some time, Han Feng stopped trying to persuade him.
The breakfast was cold. Other members of the Han family obviously wouldn't get this treatment, but Han Tiancheng and Han Feng were different.
Han Feng didn't care, and he even wanted to use it to motivate his father's combative spirit. He didn't want his father to be labeled a coward. Unfortunately, his efforts were to no avail, so he finally gave up. If only this case had not been brought to light so soon, Han Feng might have intervened in this matter.
At this point, Han Feng wasn't expecting his father to change his cowardly disposition.
Moreover, Han Feng's depression didn't stop there. After all, his father was a good-looking man, and his mother was also exceedingly prepossessing. This led him to wonder why he seemed so ordinary? His face was barely eye-catching. What more could he do if he were only a transmigrator?
After eating, Han Feng got up and went straight to his bedroom to further unravel the mystery of his body.
"Young Master, you just finished your training. I've heated some water so you could have a warm bath."
An elderly man with a soothing voice spoke from behind him as soon as Han Feng entered his room.
"Thank you, Yu Lao," Han Feng replied gently.
Han Feng's mother sent Yu Lao to take care of her son. In the Han family, no one dared to offend him since he was most likely a Mystic Rank expert. He was even described as Renzhong City's number one cultivator. However, his primary focus was on Han Feng alone, and he had no concern for others. Otherwise, the Han family's status would have reached the top in one shot if they had relied on Yu Lao's capabilities.
It was precisely the presence of Yu Lao in the house that prevented the Han family from mistreating Han Tiancheng and Han Feng. All they could do was gossip about the father and his son.
As a result, while Han Feng's life may not have been good for the past few years, it wasn't that bad either.
In fact, although Han Feng had some notion of his background and life experiences because he was a transmigrator, much of his knowledge came from the stories of Yu Lao.
In the entire Han family, only Yu Lao, Han Feng, and Han Tiancheng knew what really happened that day between Han Feng's parents. Han Tiancheng never raped Han Feng's mother, it was her who pressured him to have sex.
After saying a few words, Yu Lao stepped out of the room. When Han Feng finished washing his body thoroughly, he sat on the bed with his legs crossed.
Han Feng started practicing the Han Family's basic cultivation method. Slowly, he produced a weak Internal Strength across his lower abdomen just two inches below the belly button where his Qi resided, which then flowed into all his body meridians. However, when it passed through his heart, this Internal Strength entered a certain place where it got absorbed completely.
Simultaneously, a faint gold and red light flashed at the location of Han Feng's heart.
After all these years, Han Feng finally realized that the reason he couldn't store the Internal Strength in his energy center was because of the strange golden-red glow in his heart.
Han Feng had no idea where this light came from, but he was sure that solving this mystery would help him a great deal in his future cultivation. As a result, he allowed the continuous absorption of the golden-red light of all his Internal Strength for many years now.
