C5 Strife for Property
A group of people approached Qin Tian and his companions. Qiu Ming was smirking with self-satisfaction, while Lin Zhixi felt a chill run through her when she laid eyes on Kwoo Zhenhai.
She was well aware of who Kwoo Zhenhai was, and the implications if he sided with Qiu Ming—it would spell the end for Qin Tian.
In the realm of medicine, Kwoo Zhenhai was an undisputed authority; his word was law, and no one dared challenge him.
"Hey, you were quite bold earlier, weren't you? Why the sudden silence now that Elder Kwoo is here?"
"And you accuse me of murder? What gives you the right, you country bumpkin?"
"Elder Kwoo, Principal, I implore you to order this young troublemaker's arrest and have him sent to the police station. He deserves to rot in jail."
Qiu Ming let out a sinister chuckle after speaking, surrounded by his cronies, eagerly anticipating the sight of Qin Tian's downfall.
"Take him away."
At Kwoo Zhenhai's command, the security guards prepared to apprehend Qin Tian once more.
"This is it," Lin Zhixi thought, fully aware of the dire consequences if Qin Tian were to be arrested. Instinctively, she stepped in front of Qin Tian, attempting to block the security guards.
The whole ordeal Qin Tian was facing was a result of her father's actions. Despite her lack of affection for Qin Tian and knowing she was no match for the security guards, she felt compelled to do whatever she could to help him.
"What are you doing? I said to arrest him!"
Kwoo Zhenhai barked, pointing at Qiu Ming, leaving everyone, including Lin Zhixi, utterly stunned.
"Elder Kwoo, you..."
Qiu Ming's legs turned to jelly as he looked at Kwoo Zhenhai, who paid him no heed and instead strode over to the stretcher.
"The patient's cerebral hemorrhage isn't that severe. The real cause of his condition is these yellow pills."
After checking Lin Yu's pulse, Kwoo Zhenhai gestured to the vomit on the floor.
He then picked up Lin Yu's right hand and added, "The Huang Dan must be administered intravenously to be effective. The fresh needle mark on the patient's hand indicates that the drug was injected after he was admitted to the hospital or taken into the operating room."
"Ma Tongsheng, I need you to review the operating room surveillance immediately to determine who injected poison into the patient. We're looking at a case of premeditated murder," Kwoo Zhenhai commanded, his gaze icy as it settled on Qiu Ming. Without naming names, his actions spoke volumes; he had the security detain Qiu Ming and then directed Ma Tongsheng to examine the surveillance footage, clearly implicating Qiu Ming as the culprit.
Kwoo Zhenhai's declaration might as well have been a verdict for Qiu Ming, who collapsed to the floor in defeat. The security guards promptly hoisted him up from the ground.
"Due to our oversight, the patient's life was nearly lost. The hospital must take full responsibility," Kwoo Zhenhai continued solemnly. "Rest assured, we will thoroughly investigate this incident and ensure justice for the patient and their family."
With the gravity of the situation clear, Ma Tongsheng wasted no time in complying with the order to check the surveillance, especially with Elder Kwoo's evident ire. Meanwhile, Kwoo Zhenhai approached Zhou Min, offering a handshake, followed by Lin Zhixi.
Upon reaching Qin Tian, Kwoo Zhenhai bowed respectfully, albeit slightly. It was a subtle gesture, yet it conveyed deep reverence.
"Who exactly is he?" Lin Zhixi wondered, her curiosity piqued by Kwoo Zhenhai's deferential behavior, which she had observed keenly.
Kwoo Zhenhai then discreetly led Qin Tian aside. "Young Martial Uncle, what brings you to the Cloud Sea? And how is our Martial Ancestor faring?" he inquired, his face breaking into a smile as he prepared to perform a respectful kowtow to Qin Tian.
Kwoo Zhenhai was widely recognized as a towering figure in the medical community, yet few knew of his mentorship lineage. His master was Earth Star, who was the Mad Taoist's senior disciple and Qin Tian's elder martial brother. Kwoo Zhenhai had previously visited Qin Tian at Ashen Cloud Mountain.
"It's been a while since I've seen my master, but I trust he's doing well. As for me, I've come to the Cloud Sea to get married," Qin Tian revealed with a smile, signaling to Kwoo Zhenhai that formalities were unnecessary. Kwoo Zhenhai's expression, meanwhile, registered profound surprise.
"Alright, it looks like you've got a lot on your plate. Go ahead and take care of what you need to; don't worry about things here."
Qin Tian gestured dismissively to Kwoo Zhenhai, signaling that he could leave. Yet, Kwoo Zhenhai hesitated, rubbing his hands together as if he had more to say.
"What's the matter? Haven't you perfected your Mysterious Sky Needle technique yet?"
Noticing that Kwoo Zhenhai lingered, Qin Tian turned his attention to him. Kwoo Zhenhai nodded, admitting he was close but not quite there.
"Well then, I'll offer you some guidance when I have a moment, so you don't bring shame to our Celestial Physician Sect."
Qin Tian spoke with a casual detachment, but at his words, Kwoo Zhenhai's face lit up with a grin like that of a delighted child. After getting Qin Tian's contact information, he finally turned and left.
"Qin Tian, my dad will be okay, right? And what exactly is your relationship with Elder Kwoo?"
Upon Qin Tian's return, Lin Zhixi quickly approached him with her questions, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
She had noticed that Kwoo Zhenhai had made a point of politely acknowledging her before he left.
Lin Zhixi was well aware that she possessed no special talent that would warrant such respect from Kwoo Zhenhai, and neither did her family have the standing.
It seemed clear to her that Kwoo Zhenhai's courtesy was somehow connected to Qin Tian.
"Rest assured, your dad will be fine. The old man sought me out for some advice on medical issues," Qin Tian replied coolly, but Lin Zhixi's expression soured slightly.
"Qin Tian, I really dislike dishonesty. I hope you won't make a habit of boasting in front of me. It does nothing but worsen my opinion of you."
Lin Zhixi was well aware of Kwoo Zhenhai's stature; it was unlikely he would need to consult Qin Tian on medical matters.
She had been warming up to Qin Tian, but his recent statement had significantly diminished her regard for him.
"Zhou Min."
Qin Tian was unfazed by Lin Zhixi's reaction. Just then, a voice called out from nearby, and soon after, two figures approached Qin Tian and the rest.
The two men, one old and one young, made a striking pair. The elder was in his early sixties, with a noticeable paunch, while the younger was barely into his twenties, exuding a carefree demeanor.
The visitors were Lin Zhixi's uncle, Lin Yi, accompanied by his son, Lin Fei.
"Uncle," greeted Lin Zhixi, her brows knitting together in concern as she recognized them. Lin Yi responded with a cold snort and stepped up to Zhou Min.
"This is the agreement that my brother signed before his passing. Should he die, all the shares in his name revert to me," Lin Yi declared, tossing a contract at Zhou Min with an air of arrogance.
"Big brother, what is this? Are you attempting to rob us? Lin Yu would never sign something like this. I refuse to acknowledge this agreement," Zhou Min retorted, dismissing the contract with a flick of her hand, sending it fluttering to the floor.
"Uncle, my father has just suffered an accident, and here you are, trying to seize his assets. Don't you think that's a bit excessive? Besides, even if something were to happen to him, my mother and I are his rightful heirs."
