C17 Bandit

"Feng... Brother Feng, let's just talk this out, okay? No need for the gun." Mr. Bobo was petrified. Was this guy even human? He appeared out of nowhere, right in front of him—and the most shocking part was that he was armed!

Mr. Bobo had a gun too, but it had cost him dearly to acquire it. Who would have guessed that a mere security guard would be packing heat?

Red Hair and his crew were equally stunned. With their boss in the clutches of an armed man, their numbers meant nothing. The sight of the gun was enough to make these thugs lose their nerve.

"Where is my girlfriend?" Nie Feng asked again, the hint of a smile on his face.

"What are you waiting for? Release my sister-in-law, now!" Mr. Bobo barked at Red Hair, disgusted by his underlings' lack of foresight.

Snapping to his senses, Red Hair dashed into a nearby room. Moments later, Wuh Lingyue emerged, her eyes red with tears, and threw her arms around Nie Feng. He hesitated for a second before comforting her, "Are you okay? They didn't hurt you, did they?"

Wuh Lingyue shook her head, her voice tinged with distress, "I was afraid I'd never see you again!"

Nie Feng gave a reassuring smile and tapped Mr. Bobo's shiny bald head with the gun. "So, how do you want to settle this? You kidnapped my girlfriend to threaten me—what's your excuse?"

Mr. Bobo was seething inside. It was Nie Feng who had started the trouble by beating up his men, prompting the kidnapping. And he hadn't laid a finger on Nie Feng's girlfriend.

At the mention of "girlfriend," Wuh Lingyue's cheeks flushed crimson, and she shyly averted her gaze from Nie Feng.

"It's on me, Feng. I told Red Hair and the guys to bring your sister-in-law over, but I never imagined these idiots would take it to the extreme and kidnap her. I owe her an apology," Mr. Bobo admitted, his pride taking a hit, but with a gun to his head, he had little choice.

"And what was that you mentioned about a partnership? What's that all about? Let's hear it," Nie Feng inquired, curiosity piqued.

"Hey, Feng, here's the thing. You took down Wang Fugui, right? I've seen your skills, and I need you to do me a favor—take him out for good. But relax, once it's done, you'll be five million yuan richer. How about it?" Mr. Bobo said, grinning from ear to ear.

Nie Feng perked up at the mention of killing Wang Fugui and asked, "Why do you want Wang Fugui dead?"

"Feng, you're out of the loop. I've got an older brother, Zhao Dahai. That bastard Wang Fugui, just because my brother cussed him out, went and killed him. I've got to avenge him! If the money's not enough, I'll double it to ten million—that's my entire fortune," Mr. Bobo declared, seething with rage.

Mr. Bobo's righteous anger seemed genuine, but Nie Feng hadn't expected Zhao Dahai to be his brother. He wondered what Mr. Bobo would do if he ever found out that Nie Feng was the one who had killed Zhao Dahai.

"Killing Wang Fugui is something you should handle yourself! He and I just sparred a bit—we're actually good friends," Nie Feng said with a smile. "Come on, Yue Yue, let's get out of here."

Taking Wuh Lingyue by the hand, Nie Feng made for the exit, only to find Mr. Bobo's goons blocking the gate.

"Trying to leave?" Mr. Bobo, simmering with pent-up fury, finally found an outlet. He whipped out a dark pistol and pointed it straight at Nie Feng.

In the split second Mr. Bobo pulled the trigger, Nie Feng spun around and fired a bullet straight into the barrel of Mr. Bobo's gun. With a loud "Bang!" the gun exploded, shredding Mr. Bobo's right hand.

"Next time, it won't be your gun that gets hit. And remember, any issues, come to me. If I catch you going after anyone close to me again, I'll be sending you to join Zhao Dahai," Nie Feng warned, then strutted off with Wuh Lingyue, as Red Hair and the others instinctively cleared a path.

"Boss, boss, are you okay?" Red Hair hurried over to Mr. Bobo, full of concern, as Nie Feng disappeared into the distance.

"Damn it, go after him and chop that son of a gun down. I refuse to believe he's got the guts to shoot someone dead. Two million to the one who takes him out!" Mr. Bobo roared in fury.

You know the old saying: a hefty reward brings out the brave. The mention of two million had everyone scrambling, weapons in hand, hot on the heels of the chase.

"You're asking for trouble! Get out of here, now!" Nie Feng warned Wuh Lingyue, hearing the uproar approaching.

"No, you risked your life to save me. I can't just abandon you," Wuh Lingyue declared resolutely.

By then, Red Hair and his gang were upon them. Nie Feng, with no time to waste, drew a dagger and charged at them.

As his hand moved, thugs dropped like flies, yet Nie Feng spared their lives, merely incapacitating them. Soon, all forty-plus of Mr. Bobo's goons lay grounded.

Driven by rage, Mr. Bobo himself charged forward, blade in hand. Seeing his crew floored by Nie Feng, he realized he'd tangled with the wrong man.

"Mr. Bobo, aren't you a bit too eager, sending such a welcoming committee for me? So, how do you propose we settle this?" Nie Feng inquired, eyebrow arched.

"Feng... Brother Feng, I was wrong. Please, have mercy!" Mr. Bobo had lost all his fight, knowing another confrontation with Nie Feng could be his last.

"It's not a big deal to me, but my girlfriend's been scared. You ought to show some real sincerity," Nie Feng said, a smile playing on his lips.

Mr. Bobo's spirits lifted at those words. Just money? Money problems were no problems at all. "Brother Feng, rest assured, I'll make it right with your lady. Is 150,000 enough?"

"One hundred and fifty thousand? What do you take me for, a beggar? Two million, not a penny less! Didn't I hear you offer that to anyone who could take me down? You can keep your money, but you might have to pay with something far more precious," Nie Feng said, his threat hanging in the air.

Seeing Nie Feng's serious demeanor, Mr. Bobo bit the bullet and agreed. After all, two million yuan paled in comparison to his life.

Nie Feng provided his bank details, and Mr. Bobo, being a man of the world, promptly transferred two million yuan to him. Only then did Nie Feng let him off the hook.

Wuh Lingyue was stunned. Not only were she and Nie Feng unharmed, but they had also netted two million yuan in the process!

As Nie Feng and Wuh Lingyue searched for a taxi, they discovered that the driver had long since fled. Nie Feng was embarrassed. He, a grown man, had been so easily frightened. He had only meant to scare the driver, but the man had taken it seriously.

They were at least ten kilometers from the city, with no cars in sight on this late night. Walking back could take hours. Nie Feng could handle it, but it would surely be too much for Wuh Lingyue.

Just then, a Land Rover and several large Dongfeng trucks approached. It turned out to be Mr. Bobo and his crew.

Mr. Bobo spotted Nie Feng and quickly pulled over. "Feng, hop in. I'll give you a lift back," he offered.

Nie Feng wasn't one to play coy. He and Wuh Lingyue climbed into the vehicle. Red Hair, who had been in the back seat, hastily exited and boarded one of the following Dongfeng trucks.

With Mr. Bobo's hand injured, Blue Hair took the wheel. And he could drive; the Land Rover's prowess on mountain roads allowed them to quickly outpace the Dongfeng trucks.

With Nie Feng present, Mr. Bobo didn't dare head to the hospital first and instead made sure to drop Nie Feng off at home.

"Mr. Bobo, nice ride! How much did it set you back?" Nie Feng inquired, eyeing the Land Rover with interest.

"Not too pricey, just under two million," Mr. Bobo replied eagerly. "If Brother Feng likes it, feel free to take it for a spin."

Mr. Bobo was keen to please, clearly aware of Nie Feng's fondness for the vehicle. Rather than seeking revenge, Mr. Bobo was now focused on ingratiating himself with Nie Feng. Being on good terms with a powerhouse like Nie Feng could only be a boon for him.

"Forget it, let's keep things straight. No work, no pay. I'd better go buy it myself," Nie Feng said with a dismissive wave of his hand.

Mr. Bobo was taken aback. Damn, you're buying it yourself? Isn't your money from me?

"Oh, look at that, I just remembered your hand is injured. You should get to the hospital fast!" Nie Feng remarked, noticing Mr. Bobo's bleeding hand.

Mr. Bobo sighed in relief and gave Nie Feng a grateful look before getting into the car. "Brother Feng, if there's ever anything you need, just let me know. I'm over on the east side of the city. Come find me if you need anything," he said, and then Blue Hair drove him away.

"Tonight was so close. I had no idea you were that formidable!" Wuh Lingyue exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with admiration.

"Hmph, do you even know who I am? Today I pocketed two million. Tomorrow, we're going house hunting. We can't keep living in a rental; the environment is just not suitable, especially for a girl," Nie Feng stated.

It was clear Nie Feng was implying that after buying a house, they could live together. Wuh Lingyue didn't overthink it and remained deeply thankful to Nie Feng.

"But doesn't this count as robbery? Won't Mr. Bobo call the cops?" Wuh Lingyue asked, her worry evident.

"Don't worry about it. He won't. Have you forgotten who he is? He's a thug. He avoids the police like the plague, so calling them is out of the question. What we did isn't robbery; it's more like outsmarting a crook. These guys would've been bandits back in the day. Their money's dirty, and I just helped them 'launder' it," Nie Feng explained with a chuckle.

"So you're saying you're a bandit too?" Wuh Lingyue asked, her large eyes blinking in surprise.

"Exactly. I'm a bandit. How about it, want to be my bandit queen?" Nie Feng teased with a sly grin.

Wuh Lingyue's cheeks flushed a deep red as she quickly retorted, "No way, I'm not becoming any bandit's queen! Hmph!" Her words carried a deeper meaning; she wasn't rejecting the idea of being Nie Feng's partner, just the notion of being a bandit's queen, showing that deep down, she truly accepted Nie Feng.

Observing Wuh Lingyue's adorable demeanor, Nie Feng allowed a small smile to grace his lips. He was well aware of the young woman's affection for him and knew that with a firmer stance, he could sweep her off her feet whenever he chose. Yet, Nie Feng wasn't one to rush; he believed in taking things gradually. After all, a woman who caught the eye of Nie Feng was one who could never escape his charm!
