C9 9 Cave Giant Mouse
(9) Cave Giant Mouse
In a flash, I stepped through the portal and avoided the Village Head's line of sight. Damn, this guy looks at me like he's looking at a corpse.
"Swish!" A bright white light flashes and I appear on the mission map. Opening my eyes, I found myself in a dark, enclosed cave. Through the dim light of the torches on the walls of the cave, I could see several different-looking holes in front of me. Several tunnels extended in all directions, leading in different directions.
"Ding ~ You have entered the quest map: 'Howling Mine', start the quest!" With only 180 minutes left! "
Okay... This quest actually had a time limit. This way, the difficulty of the quest would greatly increase. The original plan of logging off to rest first and then tomorrow's challenge would be a failure.
Since time was life, there was no time to dawdle. Walking forward, I randomly chose the tunnel on the far right and headed straight in.
The walls of the cave were very clean, it was not slippery like some ancient ruins. Instead, it was like a tunnel in the desert. It was very dry, loose, and could even be inserted into the cave wall.
After walking along this path for a while, I still couldn't find anything. Just when I was wondering if I was on the wrong path, I heard a 'oh' sound coming from the front, as if something was scratching at the cave wall.
Years of game intuition told me: there is going to be a monster!
He pulled himself together, raised the Demon Spider Sword to his chest and carefully moved forward. If it was a monster that knew how to drill a hole, then they could attack from any direction. If they accidentally struck it, then it would be too difficult to directly return to the village!
After walking for a short distance, I suddenly felt a killing intent coming from my right rear. I couldn't dodge it and immediately turned around to block it.
The monster's attack only brought up a large "MISS!", and the 100 points Agility attribute was rewarded!
On closer look, the monster's shape appeared before my eyes – it was a huge mouse that was more than a meter long. If I added the tail, the length would double. The giant rat had extremely long forelimbs and sharp claws. Its long claws shined with a sharp light in the air. Needless to say, this giant rat was able to move around the cave walls relying on a pair of natural "excavators".
"Giant Cave Rat LV10"
With a sweep of my gaze, the name and level of the giant mouse appear before me. As it doesn't have any probing abilities, I can't see the detailed information on the giant mouse.
Just like when a player was reborn, the difference between a LV10 monster and a LV9 monster was like heaven and earth. I didn't think too much and rushed forward, throwing a sword attack at the head of the giant rat!
"-23!"
I frowned. This Level 10 Giant Rat is really strong. Half of my 50 Attack Damage was actually blocked. Apart from the difference in attributes, there is also the reason for the Level Suppression.
Even so, one could still see that the Giant Rat's HP bar was disappearing at a visible rate, about 10% of its HP. The HP of a level 10 monster was only a mere 200 points, it seemed like it belonged to the type of high attack anemia.
With great difficulty, I dodged the giant rat's violent pounce and assumed the posture of an iron bridge, directly slashing towards its stomach!
"-46!" Sure enough, it was a place where weak points could be dealt.
"Squeak!" The giant mouse got into a position and pounced towards me again. I had previously noticed that after attacking, its body would stiffen for about 0.3 seconds. It was temporarily unable to move and took advantage of this time to counterattack.
For the next three minutes, the giant mouse repeatedly attacked me, but I avoided it all. Every time I counterattacked, the giant mouse would howl loudly.
"Zhi —"
After a heart-wrenching scream, the Giant Rat fell to the ground, while I picked up the few silver coins he had taken out and continued walking forward.
After walking for a short while, another giant mouse appeared in front of me. I used the same method as before and continuously used the stiff time after its attacks to counterattack. I quickly dealt with it. Next, the third and fourth Giant Mice continuously appeared in front of me or launched sneak attacks from the walls of the cave. Other than me being ambushed by three Giant Mice at the same time, which caused me to lose over 50 HP and almost trigger [certain death], the rest of the Giant Mice weren't able to harm me at all.
It was fortunate that I was the one who came here. If it were any other player, even if they didn't have the Heaven's Kill skill, just the high attack power of the LV10 monster would be enough to make them want to die. With a technique that surpassed the imagination of an ordinary person, I am like a fish in water here.
Due to the fact that the [Heaven's Wrath] s attribute had not been triggered, it had greatly reduced my pressure.
After about half an hour, the sounds of monsters digging gradually disappeared from the tunnel. In its place was the sound of air flowing past, like a whistle. I felt a sliver of relief. If it was the wind, then it meant that it wasn't far from the exit. Thinking of this, I quickened my pace.
The tunnel ahead gradually brightened up. A few hundred meters away, there was a white light emitting from a cave entrance. It was obviously a passageway to the outside world. I didn't think much of it and walked straight towards it. After staying in the mouse hole for so long, they were finally going to see the light of day again!
After walking out of the cave entrance, the dazzling light made it hard for me to open my eyes. After adapting for a while, I opened my eyes once again and took a good look at my surroundings.
