C18 I Really Did Cure It
Lee Mu ignored the crowd's skepticism; he simply couldn't afford to be distracted. The system that had integrated itself into his brain was now a fixed presence in his mind, always ready to alert him whenever he was about to use it.
Though Lee Mu had a medical background, his expertise was on par with that of an average doctor, and he lacked experience. But with the system, his condition became quite extraordinary. It analyzed the situations Lee Mu faced and provided complete diagnoses. Currently, Lee Mu was only capable of treating relatively simple illnesses; anything too complex was beyond his abilities.
Activating the system left Lee Mu feeling extremely fatigued, more so than if he were carrying a 100-kilogram sack. The mystery of the system puzzled him. Based on his current understanding, it seemed likely that his own lack of strength meant his control over the system was still very weak.
"Kid, can you handle this or not? If you can't, then plug in those tubes and stop wasting time with this charade!" someone in the crowd jeered.
"Yeah, Old Mr. Ouyang is already out of oxygen. You've nearly done him in. If you don't stop now, not even a miracle could save him!" another added.
The onlookers weren't genuinely concerned for Old Mr. Ouyang; their protests were meant to stir trouble and provoke Ouyang Duoduo into punishing Lee Mu.
Lee Mu had inserted nine out of the ten silver needles. Only one remained, and with its placement, he could finally rest. But he was overwhelmingly tired, his body on the brink of collapse.
Despite the pain, Lee Mu knew there was no turning back. He had to see it through to the end.
"Lee Mu, stay strong. You've got this!" he encouraged himself silently. With unwavering resolve, he took the final silver needle and aimed it at Old Mr. Ouyang's Baihui acupoint.
As Lee Mu reached out, he suddenly felt a surge of energy release from his lower abdomen. With a thud, he nearly collapsed to the floor. Xu Jin, witnessing this, arched an eyebrow and inquired, "What's happening with you? Can you go on, or is it really that bad?"
"I... I feel completely drained of strength. Big sister, could you please insert this silver needle into his Baihui acupoint for me?"
Xu Jin was baffled at the mention of the Baihui acupoint. She was a practitioner of Western medicine and had no knowledge of these Traditional Chinese Medicine concepts.
Yet, seeing Lee Mu drenched in sweat and looking so forlorn, she felt compelled to assist. "Where exactly is the Baihui acupoint? I have no idea. Could you point it out to me?" she asked urgently.
"It's at the very top of his head... right in the center. Please, do it quickly. Any further delay and he might... he might not make it," Lee Mu managed to say, clearly exerting himself.
Following Lee Mu's direction, Xu Jin located the spot on Old Mr. Ouyang's head and, taking the silver needle, she plunged it in decisively.
Hisss!
As the needle pierced Old Mr. Ouyang's scalp, Xu Jin's hands trembled. Lee Mu, seeing her successful attempt, nodded in approval before collapsing onto her.
"Hey..."
Xu Jin hadn't anticipated Lee Mu falling onto her. She tried to prop him up, but quickly realized he was too heavy to lift.
In this predicament, she turned to the onlookers and called out, "What are you waiting for? Come over and help, quick!"
At her command, the crowd rushed forward en masse. They had been eager to get involved, especially since Xu Jin was so attractive. They weren't about to miss an opportunity for heroics, not when any normal man would leap at the chance to play the rescuer.
"Ms. Xu, I'm here to assist you!"
A young doctor, about thirty years old, charged toward Lee Mu, flailing his arms and seized his arm. Despite Lee Mu being in a weakened state, the instant the doctor touched him, he was met with an unexpected surge of power.
Whoosh!
Lee Mu pushed the doctor, sending him tumbling to the ground where he sat in a disheveled heap.
Onlookers were astounded. Even in his current state, Lee Mu possessed remarkable strength. This piqued their curiosity even more; they were eager to understand the situation with this young man.
"This guy is terrifying! We need more people here, fast! Let's secure him before he gets another chance."
As these words were spoken, the crowd closed in on Lee Mu once again, treating him as if he were a notorious villain, intent on capturing him.
Dean Chen was equally thrilled, rapidly directing his medical staff to make a good impression in front of Ouyang Duoduo. For him, it was an excellent opportunity to showcase his abilities. Seizing this moment could potentially earn him favor with the Ouyang family.
"Hmm..."
In the midst of the tense atmosphere, as everyone was poised to apprehend Lee Mu, a faint gasp was heard. Someone then shouted, "Everyone, look! What's happening here?"
Following the prompt, the crowd turned their attention and saw something astonishing. Old Mr. Ouyang, who had been lying still as death on the bed, was now stirring.
"My goodness, Old Mr. Ouyang is moving! What's going on here? This is incredible!"
"Wow, this is fantastic! Quick, everyone come and help! We must ensure Old Mr. Ouyang doesn't suffer any further harm!"
The crowd encircled Old Mr. Ouyang, their previous concerns forgotten. Both Lee Mu and Xu Jin were taken aback by the turn of events. Having been close to Old Mr. Ouyang just moments before, they were well aware of his dire condition. It seemed implausible for him to recover so swiftly. Could Lee Mu have actually been responsible for this miracle?
"Did this young man... truly manage to save him?"
