C16 The Storage Bag

Lu Yu's eyebrows shot up in surprise; he hadn't anticipated that King Wei would have a secret place for stashing treasures.

"I was summoned by King Wei once, and just so happened to witness him opening this hidden passage. He seemed confident I wouldn't escape, so he didn't feel the need to kill me to keep me quiet." The woman's voice carried a note of lingering fear as she recounted her tale.

A secret treasure trove of King Wei's?

Lu Yu mulled over the thought briefly, then, without hesitation, stepped into the passage.

The narrow corridor was barely wide enough for one person to pass through.

Following the passage, Lu Yu soon came upon a large door, secured with a lock that had a talisman affixed to it.

"Another Fu Lu?" Lu Yu muttered to himself, reaching out to touch the talisman.

Buzz...

As if triggered by a hidden mechanism, the talisman burst into a blinding golden light.

It was indeed a locking talisman, designed to prevent entry; any attempt to force the door would result in a harmful rebound.

"This is a Dragon Realm Fu Lu? The quality is much inferior to the escape talisman Liu Bao used earlier. It must have been crafted by someone newly initiated into the Dragon Realm."

Lu Yu swiftly analyzed the structure of the Fu Lu, a smirk playing at the corner of his mouth.

Beyond the Xiantian realm was the Dragon Qi Realm, where one's true qi would gather in the Dantian, roaring and surging like tumultuous ocean waves, seemingly boundless. At this stage, a martial artist's true qi resembled the mighty breath of a dragon, powerful and overwhelming, hence the name Dragon Qi Realm.

In the Daliang Kingdom, a mere mortal nation, those of the Dragon Qi Realm were considered legendary immortals, capable of wielding magical treasures and soaring through the skies.

Yet, to Lu Yu, who had lived a past life, a warrior of the Dragon Qi Realm was merely a low-level existence, someone who wouldn't even have the chance to meet him face-to-face.

"Break!"

A wisp of black qi formed at Lu Yu's fingertip, targeting a weakness in the Fu Lu's array, and shot forward with force.

Pu!

The talisman was pierced, its golden radiance quickly fading. The paper began to smolder and slowly burn until it was nothing but ash.

Bang!

Lu Yu's foot slammed into the door, shattering the iron lock, no longer protected by the Fu Lu, with a single kick.

He was met with a grand hall, its walls embedded with glowing pearls that illuminated the space despite the absence of sunlight.

The hall was lined with countless cabinets, haphazardly filled with an assortment of porcelain, jade, and stone sculptures. A veritable mountain of gold, silver, and jewels was heaped in one corner.

King Wei was notorious for his misdeeds and had amassed his wealth through countless dubious means.

To anyone else, the sudden sight of such riches would be overwhelming, but for Lu Yu, it barely registered; it paled in comparison to the treasure vault of his past.

He strode deeper into the hall, indifferent to the opulent gold and silver that lined his path.

At the far end, a row of cabinets held medicines and finely crafted armor and weapons—rare commodities not easily found in the marketplace, yet Lu Yu paid them no mind.

His attention was drawn to a nondescript, dust-covered bag tucked away in the corner of a cabinet.

The bag, seemingly untouched for ages, was caked in a thick layer of dust.

"A storage bag," Lu Yu realized, sensing a surge of Spiritual Energy the moment he stepped inside.

The storage bag was a container with its own space, capable of holding various items.

For those who had advanced to the Xiantian realm and delved into the world of cultivation, such bags were commonplace, almost a given.

But for the martial artists below the Xiantian level, a storage bag was a coveted rarity, often sparking fierce competition upon its discovery.

Lu Yu recalled, from his previous life, how he had fought for such a prize while still in the Xiantian realm.

Back then, he had carved a path through his adversaries with sheer force, securing a storage bag for himself.

He hadn't imagined that in this lifetime, he would come across one so effortlessly.

"King Wei lacks strength and foresight; he doesn't even recognize what he has. It's a shame to see something so valuable gathering dust," Lu Yu mused with a tinge of regret.

Given Lu Yu's current level, wielding mighty magical artifacts and spiritual weapons proved to be a formidable challenge. Instead, it was the simplest of these treasures that he found most essential to his needs.
