"If someone were to storm this place for my rescue, I would pledge myself to them in gratitude."

"Let go of such fantasies. Only a master of unparalleled skill could breach the royal palace for a rescue. We are but plain women, hardly the type to catch the eye of such a formidable figure."

Lu Yu didn't catch the chatter among the women.

King Wei's aide, who had barely managed to rally a group of the residence's guards after a narrow escape, was shaking in his boots at the sight of Lu Yu and dared not approach.

All the while, Lu Lengshuang remained silent, until they reached her home. There, Madame Yurou stood at the doorstep, her eyes filled with anxious anticipation.

"Yu'er, Shuang'er!"

Upon seeing Lu Yu and Lu Lengshuang return unharmed, tears of relief glistened in Madame Yurou's eyes as she eagerly greeted them.

But then she noticed something amiss; the normally formidable Lu Lengshuang was limp on Lu Yu's back, prompting a flicker of astonishment in her gaze.

"Yu'er, what's happened to Shuang'er?" Madame Yurou asked with concern.

Lu Yu reassured her gently, "Mother, elder sister has been struck by Bone Softening Powder, leaving her without strength."

"Zhong Bo, summon the physician at once!" Madame Yurou ordered the butler urgently.

The butler responded and was about to leave when Lu Yu intervened.

"Mother, the powder's effects will wear off in a few hours. However, someone has sealed sister's meridians. If we don't break the seal soon, it could hinder her future training," Lu Yu explained.
