C36 The Evil Person Complained First!

A pretty girl emerged from behind Lu Yu, her face twisted into a mocking sneer as she looked at him.

Trailing her was a group of scholars, all of whom were either wealthy or of noble birth, their gazes arrogant and disdainful.

"Princess An Le?" Lu Yu recognized the girl.

This defiant girl was none other than the daughter of the Great Liang Jin King, bestowed with the title of Princess An Le.

Despite her youth, Princess An Le was adored by both the Emperor and the Jin King. Spoiled from a young age, she had developed a notoriously brash and imperious temperament.

If Lu Yu's memory served him right, it was this very Princess An Le who, during his previous aimless days, had often made a sport of teasing him for her amusement.

"Scum, the Princess is addressing you!" one of the scholars barked from behind Princess An Le.

The disturbance quickly drew the attention of other scholars nearby, who gathered around to watch the unfolding scene.

Lu Yu dismissed the shouting scholar with an icy gaze fixed on Princess An Le. "What was that you said?"

In that instant, Lu Yu's aura of lethal intent unfurled, sending a shiver of dread through Princess An Le, prompting her to instinctively retreat several steps.

"Damn it, why should I be scared of a fool like him?"

Princess An Le quickly regained her composure, her irritation flaring anew.

As Lu Yu continued to stare her down, she snapped, "What, you think you're ascendant just because you've come to your senses? A lowborn cur like you dares to join us in the War God's trial? Your sister's just a pretty face, isn't she? Once King Wei tires of her, I'll take her and send her off to the brothel..."

Before Princess An Le could finish her tirade, Lu Yu's figure blurred, and in an instant, he was right in front of her.

Smack!

A harsh slap sent Princess An Le flying backward, crashing to the ground.

"Pfft!" Unable to contain it, she spat out a mouthful of blood, along with several teeth, her face swelling grotesquely.

"How dare you!" The scholars following Princess An Le cried out in shock.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

With a swift kick, Lu Yu sent the entire group of scholars sprawling through the air.

The sound of bones snapping echoed as the scholars tumbled to the ground, their cries of agony filling the air.

"Kill him for me!" Princess Anle's shrill voice pierced the chaos.

Some scholars, eager to ingratiate themselves with Princess Anle, fixed Lu Yu with menacing stares as she commanded.

Yet, Lu Yu appeared oblivious to the brewing storm, calmly addressing the princess, "Consider this a final mercy, spared only for your youth."

What audacity!

He stood alone against a mob intent on his downfall, his confidence unshaken.

"What's the meaning of this commotion? Disperse, now!"

At that moment, a general forcefully parted the crowd and strode forward.

A Xiantian master, his formidable presence instantly instilled fear in the scholars, who scattered without protest.

Surveying the scene of moaning scholars, the general barked, "Who dares disrupt the War God's trial?"

One scholar, pointing at Lu Yu, cried out, "He's the one! He even struck Princess Anle across the face!"

The accuser played the victim first.

Recognizing Lu Yu, the general hesitated, recalling the Crown Prince's explicit instructions to ensure Lu Yu's entry to Sky Qiong Mountain.

"Enough of this nonsense! Stand down, all of you! Another outburst, and you'll answer to me," the general commanded before abruptly departing.

Just like that, he was gone.

Those who had anticipated Lu Yu's humiliation exchanged bewildered glances.

With the general's warning hanging heavy, no one dared to act. Their glares, however, spoke volumes of their disdain for Lu Yu, who remained unfazed, hands casually clasped behind his back.

Meanwhile, Princess Anle was facing her own crisis.

"Princess, your mirror," a scholar said, gingerly presenting the copper mirror to her.

Princess Anle's reflection revealed a grotesque transformation—her once lovely face now swollen and disfigured, teeth missing. The sight was hideous.

"Fool!" she shrieked, hurling the mirror to the ground.

"Lu Yu, I will have my vengeance. You and your entire family will pay dearly—I will see to it that you all suffer in hell," she seethed internally, her gaze on Lu Yu's retreating figure filled with venomous loathing.
