C18 The Eighteenth Chapter of Saving One
His meridians and blood vessels stood out prominently against his large muscles, his spine slightly raised, giving him a streamlined physique that was even more aesthetically pleasing than the bodybuilders seen on TV.
The Husky appeared to be startled, letting out a howl before vanishing without a trace.
Liu Xu rolled his eyes and sized up the fence. His stature had increased to the point where he could easily reach the top of the fence with an outstretched hand. But to avoid triggering any potential alarm systems, he refrained from touching it and instead stepped back to maintain some distance.
"Thud!"
The muffled sound of impact echoed as his feet hit the ground, his powerful muscles propelling him into the air and over the fence, landing him inside the villa's courtyard.
The villa's main entrance was securely closed. Liu Xu opted not to force his way in but instead utilized his secondary talent to locate a mosquito, initiating a shared vision to pinpoint the exact location of the villains.
He had assumed his talents couldn't be used simultaneously and was prepared to deactivate his Ant Talent first. To his surprise, he discovered that both abilities could function concurrently without interference.
Pleased with this revelation, Liu Xu quickly refocused on the task at hand. He maneuvered the mosquito through a crack in the door and, after a thorough search, located Chu Menghan in the study, along with two menacing-looking men.
Relieved to see Chu Menghan unharmed, Liu Xu discontinued the shared vision and approached the door.
He gripped the doorknob, applying a slight pressure, and his formidable grip strength reduced the metal to a twisted mess.
Treading lightly to minimize noise, Liu Xu reached the study's exterior. He then overheard a voice from inside.
"Miss Chu, just bring out the previous agreement and sign the new one, and we'll be on our way. We won't lay a finger on you. But if you're unwilling, hehe, I'm guessing you've never been with a man, have you? Annoy me, and I'll take care of you today!"
The study fell silent for a brief moment before the soft rustling of paper being turned broke the quiet. Soon after, Chu Menghan's voice emerged, "I've signed the agreement. It's time for you to leave, isn't it?"
Even through the door, Liu Xu could detect a hint of fear in her voice.
"Where's the previous contract?"
"I left it at the company."
"Nonsense, you expect me to believe you'd leave something so important at the company? Hand it over now!"
"If you think I'm lying, go search for it yourself."
A bustle of activity followed, and shortly after, one of the men spoke up, "Looks like it's not here. Xiao Ma, you keep watch here. I'll check the bedroom. I refuse to believe it's not here today."
Footsteps approached from behind the door.
Liu Xu had been waiting for this moment. The room was too cramped, and although he was strong, he wasn't particularly fast. Engaging in a fight could mean failing to keep Chu Menghan safe.
With a swift move, he sidestepped into the hallway. As soon as he saw the man's silhouette exit the room, he lunged forward and knocked him out cold with a single slap.
Next, he intentionally knocked a mural off the wall onto the floor, creating a disturbance. The other thug inside pushed the door open to investigate. As soon as he poked his head out, Liu Xu applied the same tactic and rendered him unconscious.
Liu Xu then deactivated his Ant Talent and entered the room, where he found Chu Menghan cowering in the corner.
She was bound by ropes, looking utterly forlorn. Catching sight of Liu Xu, she froze, and then with a voice tinged with disbelief, she asked, "Am I... am I dreaming?"
