"Bravo, bravo, absolutely splendid, City Toppling Snow! Do you still remember us, your two old friends?"
"Truly worthy of being the first player on the entire server to hit Level 5, City Toppling Snow. Your old buddies have come to pay you a visit."
After City Toppling Snow had dispatched the Elite Monster, the two men approached her, clapping and wearing admiring smiles.
City Toppling Snow had been organizing her backpack when she heard the familiar voices behind her. She frowned slightly and turned to face them.
"Is it you two?"
Noticing the speculative glint in City Toppling Snow's eyes, Qi Tian and Chung Tianya exchanged knowing smiles. It was clear to them that City Toppling Snow had already figured out why they were there.
"Hehehe, yes, it's us. Seeing how thrilling your battle with the monster was, we were wondering if you might let us join in?"
"Exactly, we've fought side by side in the past. It would be great if you could include us too. You know our capabilities; surely they meet your standards."
City Toppling Snow gave them a quizzical look. She was aware of their motives, but she wasn't interested in having them join. She had her own independent team now, and she was confident that with gradual progress, she could dominate the entire server.
She knew all too well the gaming prowess of these two; each was a seasoned player with rapid leveling skills. Assisting them would be like creating two potential rivals for herself – a foolish move she had no intention of making.
"No, I've got my own team and I'm not looking to add anyone else."
City Toppling Snow shook her head, decisively turning them down. Given her typically cool demeanor, the two men weren't taken aback by her response.
"Don't be too quick to dismiss us. We were among the first to dive into this game, and we've got some unique treasures that others don't possess. They may not be much, but they're still rare green treasures, a notch above the Healing Gem you have."
"They might not seem useful now, but when you come across some really tough monsters, you might find that what I have could be quite the game-changer."
It was obvious that the item Qi Tian took pride in was the green Lava Gem, a special reward from Lin Tian.
The Lava Gem, a green-tier treasure, was considered a premium item among the inhabitants of Beginner Village.
It not only boosted the wearer's strength by 10 points but also boasted a potent Burning effect.
This effect alone could inflict 30 points of Magic Damage on an enemy.
The monsters in Beginner Village typically had high physical defense but lamentably low magic defense, which is why Mage classes were highly favored in the early game.
With a Mage in your party, the early stages of the game would be a breeze. It's only in the mid to late game that you encounter monsters with outrageously high defenses against both physical and magical attacks.
Consider the Lava Elite Monster, for example, with a Life Value of 500.
Qi Tian's physical attack power stood at 15, and with his inherent 10 points of strength, he could deliver 25 points of damage to a monster in a single blow.
But with his Lava Gem equipped, he could deal a whopping 55 points of damage in one hit, enabling him to defeat even the formidable Lava Elite Monster in just a minute.
At first glance, it might seem that the Lava Elite Monster was no match for Qi Tian, but the reality was more complicated. The Lava Elite's attack power was so extreme that it could instantly kill Qi Tian with a single strike.
Thus, Qi Tian's immediate need was a way to survive. With a stable output environment, he could swiftly eliminate the Lava Elite Monsters, quickly bolstering his strength.
City Toppling Snow, a Level 5 healer, possessed the life-saving abilities that Qi Tian required. A healer of her level could use a simple Healing Arts to restore 200-300 points of Life Value.
Currently, Qi Tian was at Level 3 with a Life Value of just 300.
As long as he avoided instant death, City Toppling Snow could continuously replenish his Life Value. Naturally, she couldn't cast spells indefinitely since spellcasting consumed magic.
However, City Toppling Snow was well-resourced, with numerous items to rapidly regenerate her magic. Nevertheless, she could only cast the Beginning Level Healing Technique every ten seconds.
In just ten seconds, even the most formidable Lava Elite Monster could take down only three or four players at most, given its lack of area-of-effect abilities. Consequently, when over ten players joined forces, they became an incredibly efficient monster-slaying machine.
Eager to gain City Toppling Snow's trust, Qi Tian produced the Lava Gem he had acquired, inviting her to inspect its properties. The dazzling green gem gave her pause. Undeniably, possessing the Lava Gem would significantly enhance Qi Tian's value and combat prowess, something she couldn't afford to overlook.
As an Auxiliary Type mage with modest attack power, City Toppling Snow relied on her skilled companions to inflict damage. Yet, without substantial attack power data, even their formidable skills fell short against the monsters. Qi Tian's addition promised a substantial boost, potentially enabling her to farm monsters rapidly and ascend beyond Level 7 within a mere three days—a rank denoting a high-level powerhouse within the Lava World.
"What do you say? I won't take too much of your experience. Just share two-fifths with us," Qi Tian proposed, seeing City Toppling Snow's indecision. Essentially, for every five Lava Monsters they defeated, two would be reserved for the finishing blows by him and Chung Tianya.
The remaining three would go to City Toppling Snow. Qi Tian's bold demand was his opening bid, fully expecting City Toppling Snow to counteroffer. To his surprise, she accepted without a second thought.
"Fine, I agree to bring you two into my team, but I have one condition. If you don't accept it, no matter what aces you have up your sleeve, you won't be able to join," she stated.
Upon her agreement, Qi Tian and Chung Tianya were thrilled. "Great! What's the condition? As long as it's within our power, we won't hesitate to comply."
