C12 Create an Instance Dungeon
"Maybe we should go back and ask that NPC we saw earlier? There's something quite mysterious about him. I even caught him sleeping once."
The NPC who handled reward exchanges in the game sparked curiosity among everyone. He seemed indistinguishable from a real person, even taking breaks, and once he was asleep, there was no waking him up.
*Sigh* "Alright, let's go find that NPC. I also want to ask when the recharge channel will open. I've slain plenty of monsters and earned a lot of game coins, but it's still not enough. My magic use is through the roof, and I need to stock up on items to replenish it."
To keep up with the constant monster farming, ample mana is essential. Apart from the game-dropped items that replenish mana, one could also purchase them from the Merchant Shop. However, the shop currently only stocks two types of items.
This limitation was frustrating for many players who were eager to invest real money into the game.
So, the group teamed up and sought out Lin Tian once again.
At that moment, Lin Tian had just woken up, brimming with energy and buzzing with fresh ideas.
"Hey, hey, hey, NPC, hold up. We've got some questions for you."
Lin Tian was strolling down the main street of Beginner Village, pondering over some half-baked ideas, when he heard someone call out to him. Turning around, he recognized the group of promising young players.
With that, Lin Tian mustered a sincere smile and approached Beiming Xue and her companions.
"Do you players need help with anything?"
*Cough, cough* "We're wondering when the guild system will open the recharge channel. The Reincarnation Coins are scarce, and the Merchant Shop's inventory is too limited. More and more Level 5 players are emerging, and soon everyone will be casting spells. Without proper mana replenishment items, how are we supposed to play the game?"
Qi Tian, known for his exuberant personality, was as straightforward as his flamboyant style suggested, speaking frankly to Lin Tian. Lin Tian, unconcerned with formalities, was more interested in addressing the questions they raised.
It must be acknowledged that the feedback from players is currently the most crucial aspect in need of improvement. Lin Tian had considered the guild issue, but he lacked the spare energy to initiate it at the moment. Regarding the addition of new items to the Merchant Shop, Lin Tian was resolute in his decision to address it soon.
"Players, in theory, I shouldn't be divulging details about the game's development so freely. But since you've inquired, I'll share some information with you," he said.
"Today, I will be adding two new items to the Merchant Shop. Of course, I'll keep the quality of these items under wraps for now. Once we have our first Level 10 player, I'll unlock the guild feature."
Lin Tian departed swiftly after responding, paying no heed to the clamor of voices behind him. It wasn't that he was unwilling to assist the players; he was simply concerned that further questions would leave him at a loss for answers.
He was well aware of the game's flaws, yet despite recognizing the issues, he was powerless to make improvements. The root of the problem lay in the insufficient energy at Bai Li's disposal, which hindered any potential modifications.
The enhancement of the game's richness and playability directly depended on the players' efforts to slay more monsters, thereby enriching Bai Li's energy reserves.
"Damn, I really want to file a complaint about this NPC. Who's the developer responsible for this?" Qi Tian muttered, frustrated as he watched Lin Tian walk away. Strangely, the direction seemed oddly familiar to him.
"Let it go. We're lucky to have gotten this much information. Didn't the NPC say it was a friendly tip? Alright, let's go hunt some monsters."
With the desired information in hand, Qi Tian and his companions set off. True to Qi Tian's earlier remarks, Lin Tian was indeed headed for the heart of the Wasteland, the stronghold of the Lava Clan.
Lin Tian had once inquired of Bai Li about the existence of lingering ghosts in the Reincarnation World, but Bai Li had assured him that no such entities remained.
Devoid of ghosts, Lin Tian had no choice but to focus on the Lava Monsters. The reason Lin Tian inquired about the ghosts from Bai Li was that he aimed to create the most enticing feature in the game: the dungeon.
It's common knowledge that every game needs dungeons in addition to the main quests and storyline. Dungeons are typically where players level up and farm monsters. Frankly, completing a dungeon isn't mandatory, but if you do complete the dungeon's challenges, you'll progress much faster than other players.
However, designing a dungeon comes with a significant challenge: the monsters within must respawn endlessly. This means that once one group of players has cleared the dungeon, it must be ready for the next group to tackle—that's the essence of a dungeon.
The Lava Monsters outside, on the other hand, are one-offs. Although their numbers seem inexhaustible now, they will eventually be depleted. Furthermore, they are beyond Lin Tian's control and thus unsuitable as dungeon adversaries.
Only those who perish here and are absorbed by the Reincarnation World, becoming ghosts, can be controlled by Lin Tian and transformed into dungeon monsters.
Regrettably, ordinary players who slay these creatures lack the power to manipulate the Reincarnation World and cannot convert these monsters into a dungeon. Hence, only Lin Tian himself can undertake the task of hunting down certain monsters.
Through his recent interactions with Bai Li, Lin Tian has gradually come to understand the hierarchy of power in this world—specifically, the power structure of the Real World, not the game.
In the Real World, power is categorized into Ranks 1 through 8. Bai Li has indicated that the Boss of the Lava World, Bamote, is likely a peak Rank 1 creature.
In gaming terms, Bamote would be equivalent to a formidable Level 15 adversary.
As Lin Tian hunts alongside other players, his own strength is slowly increasing. Yet, he hasn't even reached Rank 1 status so far.
Therefore, the idea of him taking on Bamote is ludicrous. Instead, Lin Tian must settle for hunting ordinary Lava Elite Monsters and some unique Lava Monsters. Once defeated, he can refine them into ghosts and incorporate them into his dungeon.
