"Damn, a Level 7 Lava Monster?"
Qi Tian's hand, clutching his gun, trembled slightly as he observed the level displayed above the monster's head, along with its stats. At a mere Level 4, he was outmatched; the monster's level was nearly double his own. More critically, without having surpassed the Level 5 milestone, the disparity between him and the monster was massive—not merely double. Despite their group numbering over ten, it would likely take an exceedingly long time to take down this monster.
The presence of one Level 7 monster might have instilled a slight urge to retreat, but as more of them began to emerge, Beiming Xue and the rest didn't hesitate to abandon the dungeon.
"Phew, this is insane. It looks like we need to be at least Level 10 to have a shot at successfully clearing this dungeon."
Everyone looked disheartened. They had assumed the dungeon wouldn't be too challenging, but the monsters inside were proving to be exceptionally tough.
A Level 7 monster was merely a minor foe within, not even the Boss, which was likely to be at least Level 10. At their current levels, clearing the dungeon was nothing but a fantasy. They had managed to push forward less than a third of the way before being forced to halt their advance.
"Ah, well, let's just grind levels in the regular wasteland areas. It's slower, but once both of you Spear Warriors reach Level 5, we might be able to make some headway in the dungeon again."
If Qi Tian and Chung Tianya could both level up to 5, then with two Level 5 Spear Warriors and a Level 6 healer, they could indeed take on a Level 7 monster.
And so, the first team to attempt the dungeon in the game met with failure.
After their defeat, the group took some time to rest. It was the second evening since the game's launch. For these two days, the players who had entered on the first day had been immersed in the game non-stop, neglecting all else, yet their in-game progress was modest.
As everyone settled down to rest, Lin Tian, much like anyone else, slipped into a deep slumber. Unbeknownst to all, while they slept, a fiend was on a rampage in the game.
Early on the second day, Lin Tian woke up, quickly freshened up, and grabbed a bite to eat before diving into the Reincarnation World. He pulled up the player information panels, expecting to see the familiar names at the top of the rankings. To his surprise, the leaderboard's top spot had changed hands overnight.
"Enforcing Justice for Heaven — Level 6?"
Lin Tian was taken aback by the player who had reached Level 6. He had no recollection of Enforcing Justice for Heaven from the past two days. Yet, on the third day, this player had surged to Level 6 like a dark horse.
"What's going on here? With the game being this challenging, how can someone level up so quickly? Could this person have gathered a group to grind monsters like Beiming Xue did?"
This was the first time Lin Tian had taken a special interest in another player. Driven by curiosity, he tracked down Enforcing Justice for Heaven's location and discovered that he was still online, so he immediately followed him.
As expected, Enforcing Justice for Heaven was in the midst of a dungeon battle. As the master of this world, Lin Tian could effortlessly observe the fight without being detected.
Enforcing Justice for Heaven had an ordinary appearance, dressed in the garb of a Taoist priest, fitting his moniker. Despite being only Level 6, he was engaged in combat with a Level 7 Lava Elite Monster.
Enforcing Justice for Heaven's class was that of a swordsman, a classic and highly challenging melee role. His attacks were among the highest in terms of physical damage, surpassing even those of Spear Warriors. However, Spear Warriors had their advantages, boasting more resilience and not being as easily defeated. Their area-of-effect attack skills were exceptionally powerful as well.
Swordsmen, on the other hand, were pure melee fighters, lacking any group attack capabilities. Nearly all of their skills targeted individuals. Since the shop had yet to stock any long swords, Enforcing Justice for Heaven wielded a self-crafted stone sword.
The self-crafted item was incredibly fragile, particularly when facing a Level 7 Lava Monster—a single touch could shatter it. Yet, Lin Tian was astonished to find that the Enforcing Justice for Heaven before him possessed exceptionally advanced combat skills.
It was common knowledge that the Lava Monster's vulnerability lay in the red gem atop its head—a weakness well-known to all, including the swordsman before him. But beyond this, the swordsman seemed to have identified other, less obvious weaknesses of the Lava Monster. Despite these weaknesses being subtle and nearly imperceptible, the Enforcing Justice for Heaven managed to fight the Level 7 Lava Monster with apparent ease.
No matter how the Lava Monster attacked, he deftly evaded every blow. His weapon remained untouched by the Lava Monster. In contrast, the stone in his hand had struck the red gem on the Lava Monster's head numerous times. However, due to the limitations of his weapon and strength, the Lava Monster had yet to be defeated.
"Wow, this individual has such a strong combat instinct. It looks like he must be one of the rare Inheritors of ancient martial arts on your planet," Bai Li remarked, having quietly joined Lin Tian's side. He had been observing the Enforcing Justice for Heaven below and quickly discerned his background.
"Ancient Martial Inheritor? What's that?" Lin Tian inquired.
As if anticipating the question, Bai Li had his response ready. "To put it in layman's terms, if this Enforcing Justice for Heaven were in ancient times, he'd be considered a martial arts expert. Frankly, his impressive performance in this realm is because he's an equally formidable master in the Real World. His combat skills are top-notch, and he possesses significant innate talent. To be honest, if I had the choice of a master, I'd prefer him. With equal strength, he can exhibit far superior combat prowess."
