C23 Fighting Bamote

Beiming Xue and her companions just happened to be passing by when they caught sight of Lin Tian rocketing into the sky. They were spellbound, unable to tear their eyes away.

"Damn, who is this guy? Is he really that handsome?"

"Wow, talk about a striking figure. That armor, that stance, his presence is just unbeatable."

Qi Tian and Chung Tianya were mesmerized by Lin Tian, who was flying above them. Both had a penchant for lavish things, and Lin Tian's current image ticked all the boxes for them – from his striking looks to his commanding aura, he was the epitome of a master in their eyes.

Perhaps it was Lin Tian's aura that had enchanted them, but they found his otherwise ordinary face to be exceptionally handsome at that moment.

Beiming Xue remained silent, yet her transfixed gaze betrayed the storm of emotions within her. For some reason, this man, despite being a character in a game, exuded a sense of reality that was deeply compelling.

"Bamote, you're here for me, aren't you? These are just ordinary humans; to you, they're like ants. I assume you wouldn't want to involve them. Let's take our fight somewhere else, away from here, to fulfill your wishes."

Lin Tian regarded Bamote with an icy demeanor. For some reason, despite feeling internally as excited as a madman, he maintained a cool exterior. It was as if the armor possessed a magic that could control him.

"Hiss – What's your connection to the Yellow Springs Great Monarch?"

Bamote's eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets at the sight of Lin Tian's armor. If his memory served him right, this armor once belonged to the Yellow Springs Great Monarch, a very long time ago.

Even though the Great Monarch was just that – a monarch – he was on a level Bamote could never hope to reach. A mere breath from the Great Monarch could obliterate Bamote.

"Why all this pointless chatter? My relationship with the Yellow Springs Great Monarch is none of your business. Just come with me quietly."

No sooner had Lin Tian spoken than he transformed into a streak of light and vanished, leaving Bamote looking utterly bewildered.

Lin Tian wasn't intentionally being distant; the armor was controlling him, preventing him from expressing his true thoughts. What's more, he himself had no clue about the identity of the Yellow Springs Great Monarch.

"Hehehe, what do you think? Impressive, right? This set of equipment was left behind by a true Emperor. It may be the trashiest set I have, but it's all you can handle at your current level. So be content with it."

"What? The worst set of equipment?"

Lin Tian's eyes sparkled. Logically, Bai Li's words should have angered him, since he was deemed only worthy of the worst equipment. But in reality, Lin Tian was far from angry; he was actually thrilled. What did this imply? It meant that Bai Li had even more incredible gear at her disposal.

Now that he was Bai Li's master, her possession of more impressive equipment meant that he, in essence, had access to it as well. Wasn't that a reason to be excited? Lin Tian certainly thought so.

"Hmph, obviously. Did you really think my Reincarnation Small World is some kind of junkyard?"

Lin Tian chuckled, finally experiencing the thrill similar to Chung Tianya's exploits in those wish-fulfillment novels.

After arriving at the designated spot, Bamote soon caught up. Perhaps Bamote suspected Lin Tian was a descendant of the Yellow Springs Great Monarch, which made him treat Lin Tian with increased caution.

Although Lin Tian's displayed strength wasn't formidable, as a presumed heir to the Great Monarch, he must have some powerful assets. Thus, Bamote remained vigilant.

"Kid, you're the one orchestrating all this, aren't you? You're desperately trying to protect the last bastion of humanity, but let me tell you, it's futile. Even if you defeat my Lava World, there will be others from High-Level Worlds coming to conquer and take what those of your feeble strength shouldn't possess."

"So, if you're smart, you'll surrender to me, Bamote, and hand over the treasure. If I become the ruler, I'll be an even more formidable force than your ancestor, the Yellow Springs Great Monarch. As the ruler, you could share in the spoils of my success."

Lin Tian rolled his eyes at Bamote's gold-flecked gaze. The man was quite the dreamer.

Not in the mood for idle chatter, Lin Tian waved his hand, and a white bone spear materialized, its presence as commanding and majestic as ever.

Lin Tian charged at Bamote with his long spear, ready for battle. Bamote, caught off guard, quickly engaged. He hadn't anticipated Lin Tian's decisiveness to strike without hesitation.

The fight dragged on until Bamote landed a punch that sent Lin Tian crashing into the mountain behind them.

Both fighters were gasping for air. Lin Tian, in particular, felt frustrated on top of his exhaustion. He realized another weakness: despite his good equipment and considerable strength, he lacked any finesse in combat, relying solely on brute force.

Bamote, though not without his own vulnerabilities, fought with a wild, unstructured ferocity, jabbing here and there with his battered spear. Had Lin Tian not been certain of his own survival, he would have fled long ago.

Bamote had clearly noticed Lin Tian's shortcomings and was baffled. As a descendant of the Yellow Springs Great Monarch, Lin Tian should have inherited the Great Monarch's signature techniques and skills. Yet, he seemed to be a complete novice.

"Kid, what's your game? Are you scared to face me in battle? Why all the secrecy?" Bamote demanded, his voice thick with suspicion.

"Enough talk. Fight or get out of here!" Lin Tian retorted, his resolve unwavering.

Bamote's eyes narrowed, suspecting a ruse. He couldn't believe that Lin Tian lacked strategy. How could someone without any tactics have trained to nearly match his own strength? There had to be another explanation: Lin Tian was either holding back his true abilities or had laid a trap, waiting for Bamote to fall into it.

"Heh, I'll spare you today, kid. Now that I see you're the one pulling the strings, we'll have plenty of time," Bamote sneered.

"When the next world arrives, I'll be curious to see how you, such a weakling, plan to stop me. By then, even if you wish to surrender, it'll be too late!"

With a triumphant howl, Bamote soared into the sky and disappeared. Once alone, Lin Tian collapsed to the ground, his body feeling like it was coming undone.
