C8 Mysterious Nanny

Announcement: "During this period, all players who have been slaughtered by High Level monsters will receive double the experience points and various other rewards for every ordinary monster they kill!"

This announcement sent everyone into a frenzy.

The game was already notoriously difficult, particularly due to the regional challenges. Now, with High Level monsters hunting them down, leveling up seemed nearly impossible. Yet, the prospect of earning double the experience points for killing an ordinary monster was thrilling.

Consequently, the wasteland descended into utter chaos. As soon as players recovered from their weakened state, they donned their finest gear and charged at the ordinary monsters. If they ran into a High Level monster and were instantly killed, it was just tough luck.

But when they came across lower-level monsters, it was a different story. Players fought desperately, risking their lives to secure a kill. Such opportunities for double experience and additional rewards were rare, perhaps even a first in the game's history.

While the players were overjoyed, Lin Tian was less than thrilled. The experience points they were earning were part of the power that was supposed to go to him after defeating the monsters.

Nevertheless, to keep the players engaged, Lin Tian had to implement this strategy. Fortunately, it seemed to be working; players were fiercely battling monsters, which ultimately still benefited Lin Tian.

Eventually, the Lava Clan's king, Bamote, was informed of this peculiar turn of events.

"What are you telling me? These humans are so fearless that they're willing to fight to the death against you?"

The elf standing before Bamote was shaking. He knew Bamote all too well.

Their leader had an intense desire for control and disliked any situation that went beyond his expectations or grasp. Clearly, the current events had surpassed his predictions.

From the look on their leader's face, it was evident that he was seething with rage. And it was quite possible that this elf would bear the brunt of his fury.

The Lava Clan's volatility and irrationality are no laughing matter; it's a trait deeply ingrained in their very essence.

"Hehe, very good. Let's do this: withdraw our elite forces. There's no need to expend our strength or waste time on these insignificant humans."

Contrary to the Fire Elf's expectations, who thought their leader might just kill him with a slap, the order given was to have all the High Level monsters pull back.

Confused as he was, the Fire Qilin understood that he had no place to question or offer suggestions before his leader, so he simply acknowledged the command and departed.

"Interesting! I had assumed there was no longer any being here capable of wielding the power of rules, but it appears I've underestimated this once sacred place."

"The humans here are fearless in the face of death, battling with their very lives at stake. It looks like there's someone here who has mastered the rules of reincarnation and life and death, granting these humans endless lives in this region."

"Sadly, I'm too weak to escape this world... Otherwise, I would certainly exterminate all the humans here."

A vicious glint of murderous intent flashed in Bamote's blood-red eyes. He was seething with rage, yet he had no outlet for his fury.

If his suspicions were correct, and the humans in this area possessed eternal life, then conquering Earth and seizing its treasures would prove to be a formidable challenge.

But just because he lacked the power to leave this space didn't mean that beings from other High Level Worlds couldn't. For now, he just needed to command his forces to defend this territory until more formidable entities arrived, ready to sweep everything before them.

This was precisely why Bamote had abruptly ordered the High Level monsters to retreat.

He had abandoned the idea of capturing the humans alive. With their ability to resurrect infinitely, no one would betray the humans' secrets. After all, no matter how much he tortured or killed the humans here, they would come back to life.

Even the most timid and feeble person would become incredibly brave under these conditions, making it impossible to glean any information.

Furthermore, Bamote's strategy had shifted from an initial invasion to now holding the battlefield. His fundamental objective had changed, necessitating a strategic pivot.

...

Not even a full day had passed since the announcement when the High Level monsters began to recede into the wilderness's depths like a receding tide.

Players were caught off guard when, in a brief moment, the first player to reach Level 5 emerged within the game.

Level 5 marked a significant threshold. Below this level, players were mere ants, but upon reaching Level 5, they attained strength comparable to a Lava Elite Monster, gaining the capability to solo these formidable foes.

In any game, the first to achieve a milestone or complete a quest typically receives a special reward. Therefore, for the first player to reach elite status, Lin Tian was prepared to offer an exceptional prize.

Lin Tian had initially assumed that either Chung Tianya or Qi Tian would be the ones to make this leap. Surprisingly, it was a woman who achieved this first breakthrough.

Her gaming ID was City Toppling Snow, a name that reflected her stunning avatar.

As a Healer, her profession left Lin Tian astonished. Healers, often referred to as such in the game, served a supportive role and lacked significant offensive capabilities. Yet, this woman had managed to ascend to Level 5 and attain elite status, suggesting she likely had a robust team dedicated to assisting her in monster farming.

This monster farming involved weakening monsters to their last breath, then allowing City Toppling Snow to deliver the final blow, ensuring all experience and rewards were credited to her. This was the only plausible explanation for a Healer becoming the first Level 5 player.

"Congratulations to player City Toppling Snow on reaching Level 5, becoming the first on the entire server to achieve elite status. As a reward, you receive a Healing Gem (White, Treasure)!"

Following the server-wide announcement, City Toppling Snow's reputation soared. Her reward, a Healing Gem, indicated her role as a Healer, as such rewards are tailored to the recipient's profession.
