C9 Collaboration
It was nothing short of a marvel that a Healer managed to outpace everyone on the entire server and become the first to reach Level 5. At the Resurrection Point in Beginner Village, Qi Tian and Chung Tianya were huddled together, deep in conversation.
"City Toppling Snow, it's that person. What do you think, should we approach her for a collaboration?"
Upon hearing Chung Tianya's suggestion, Qi Tian gave a wry smile.
"I'd love to work with her, but you know what she's like. We've met her before; there's no way she'd willingly team up with a couple of novices like us. Unless we have something impressive to offer, she's not going to be interested."
It was clear from their discussion that Qi Tian and Chung Tianya were quite familiar with the player known as City Toppling Snow, likely from previous encounters in the same game.
"So, what's our move? We've been outdone by a woman, and I know that doesn't sit well with you. But City Toppling Snow always has been shrouded in mystery. Her rapid ascent to Level 5 as a Healer suggests she's probably been monster farming."
Chung Tianya sounded somewhat envious. Truth be told, neither he nor Qi Tian were strapped for cash. Hiring someone to farm monsters for them would be easy, but the sad truth was that even with help, their farming efficiency wouldn't be great.
Considering the number of High Level Elite Monsters that roamed the Beginner Village, very few players had the luxury of enjoying double experience and rewards. To effectively farm monsters, you'd need the expertise of players like Chung Tianya and Qi Tian.
But then again, you can't just throw money at players of their caliber to recruit them. Chung Tianya lamented his lack of real-world clout; money he had, but without influence, he couldn't rally other top-tier players to power-level with him.
Sometimes, it's hard not to reflect on the fact that, even in a simple game, having money or not dictates entirely different experiences.
It's almost as if there are two separate games: the one Lin Tian designed is a prime example. Although he hasn't yet enabled in-game purchases, that hasn't stopped the big spenders from leveraging their financial advantage to blaze a trail far ahead of the average player.
"Let's give it a shot. Are you really okay with just standing by as others widen the gap between us without feeling a bit uneasy?"
"You're aware that once a gap like that opens up, catching up becomes nearly impossible."
Chung Tianya couldn't shake off the thought of teaming up with City Toppling Snow. Having someone with her capabilities lead them, even if she's just a healer, would significantly boost their leveling speed for the time being.
It might seem a bit dishonorable for two guys to seek help from a woman, but it's all in the name of leveling up.
"Sigh, fine, let's give it a try. Hopefully, she'll cut us some slack since we've fought together before."
And so, the two superstar players, once renowned in other games, now found themselves depending on someone else's aid to survive in Beginner Village.
It's undeniable that this game was frustratingly addictive—they hated it, yet they couldn't bring themselves to quit.
The two weren't exactly the top figures in Beginner Village, but they weren't far off, so they had a certain level of fame. After some inquiries, they managed to locate City Toppling Snow through information provided by other players.
According to these players, City Toppling Snow had entered the very wasteland that Chung Tianya and Qi Tian had stumbled into not long ago.
The weakest monsters in that wasteland were Level 5 Lava Elite Monsters. If Qi Tian and Chung Tianya were to go now, they'd fare no better than before. City Toppling Snow, however, was a different story.
She was a bona fide Level 5 Healer with impressive healing power. With a few strong damage dealers by her side, they could certainly attempt to take down Level 5 monsters.
When Qi Tian and Chung Tianya finally caught up with City Toppling Snow, things were just as they had anticipated—she was indeed in the midst of her hunting operation.
"Beginning Level Healing Technique!"
On the desolate wasteland, a massive Lava Elite Monster, unlike any Lava Monster they had seen before, was being besieged by a group of human players.
Most of these players were male, with City Toppling Snow, a female, standing at the center of the action.
The Lava Monster, at Level 5, could annihilate a player with a single Great Fire Ball. Yet, for some reason, the surrounding humans' defensive abilities seemed exceptionally strong, leaving them with a sliver of health after each hit from the monster's Great Fire Ball Technique.
City Toppling Snow used her Healing Arts to revive these individuals.
The Beginning Level Healing Technique was a unique skill possessed solely by City Toppling Snow, making her the only player on the Entire Server capable of using it.
Unlike the offensive methods employed by Qi Tian and Chung Tianya, the Beginning Level Healing Technique was a more potent form of attack that became available after reaching Level 5, taking the form of magic.
Casting spells required a certain amount of Magic Value. Although Qi Tian and Chung Tianya had some magic at their disposal, their levels were insufficient, and they hadn't learned any spells. Consequently, they were limited to basic attacks when engaging enemies.
Watching City Toppling Snow wield her exclusive magic and decimate her foes left the two men green with envy. It also intensified their desire to quickly advance to Level 5.
Both were Spear Warriors, a class known for its flashy spells. Not only were their spells powerful, but they also had a certain flair that set them apart from other classes. The Spear Warrior profession appealed to them not just for its remarkable combat abilities but also because its skills were particularly to their liking.
Suddenly, a Lava Elite Monster burst into fragments with a resounding boom, catching Qi Tian and Chung Tianya off guard. Clearly, City Toppling Snow and her team had vanquished it.
With the defeat of the Lava Elite Monster, City Toppling Snow's Experience Bar surged forward significantly. By taking down just four or five more Level 5 Lava Elite Monsters, she would ascend to Level 6. As the strength disparity widened, Qi Tian and Chung Tianya's resolve to collaborate with City Toppling Snow solidified. If she refused, they were prepared to doggedly persist until she consented.
