Huo Jianxiong, Kung Tianci, Yem Jun, and Xie Lifeng, four battalion commanders within the military, convened together. They were designated as the rearguard, although that term doesn't quite capture their role. They were to wait until every civilian at the base had traversed the teleportation portal before leading their troops through it. Naturally
