C11 Two Oddities
I told Chen Jianshan to find a quiet place to stop the car. He took out the hammer from the emergency maintenance case while I held onto the paper knife that Seventh Uncle gave me.
The two of them entered the old train station one after the other. It was raining heavily outside, and there was not a single light in the old train station. It was frighteningly dark.
We still haven't figured out the situation. In order not to alert them, the two of us didn't even turn on the flash of our mobile phones and slowly walked in in the dark.
Fortunately, this train station wasn't too big. After passing the front hall, there were waiting rooms and warehouses on the left and right. The innermost area was a monorail platform.
However, after a thorough search, we didn't find Song Zhen's corpse, so we were a bit bored. Could it be that the message we received was fake?
"To... "Why don't we leave first? The atmosphere inside feels weird." Chen Jianshan wiped off the cold sweat on his forehead. It was obvious that he was scared stiff.
People often scare themselves. There aren't that many weird things in the world. My courage isn't big, but I can't be scared by an empty train station. I hold Chen Jianshan's hand and say,
"Since we're already here, why don't we wait a bit longer?"
As I spoke, the rain lessened a little, and I could clearly hear the sound of brakes coming from the door, followed by a loud bang. Someone got out of the car with the door closed.
Who else could come to this place other than us? If we were to be discovered by Wu Hui and the rest, before we could snatch back Song Jin's corpse, we would probably be split into two by him. My gaze quickly swept across the hall and saw a pile of broken wooden boxes at the side, which pulled Chen Jianshan to the back of the hall without even thinking.
We had just hidden ourselves when we looked through the gap in the wooden crate and arrived at the station with two men in black cloaks behind us.
I couldn't see their faces clearly, but I could see them, one in front of the other, carrying a large box. From the box floated a wave of humus.
"Thoughtless Mage, this corpse can really save our lives."
That voice was very sharp, and from under the cloak, it was hard to tell if it was a man or a woman.
"That's right, the two of us Mages gave you the Spirit Sesame Grass on the White Mountain. You have to know that there's a divine python guarding the mountain next to this treasure. In order to steal this treasure, it almost took 100 cultivation experience from us."
The two of you just need to be at ease. As long as this female corpse is here, I will protect you with the lightning, and if you don't have it here, you will have this corpse to protect you.
When I heard what they said, I couldn't help but be stunned for a moment. It seems that Seventh Uncle was right. They really wanted to pass the tribulation with the help of Song Zhen's corpse.
Only then did the two of them relax and put away the cloaks on their bodies. When I took a glance at them, my scalp couldn't help but tingle. They weren't even human when they were standing not too far away.
One was tall, while the other was short. Although the taller one was dressed in human clothes, his head looked like a scoop. He had a flat face without a nose, and his face was covered with prismatic scales.
The other was a white marmoset monkey. It wasn't very tall, and its sharp beak and monkey cheeks were circling Thoughtless.
This is the first time in our lives that we have seen a demon, so how could we not be afraid? I told Chen Jianshan to calm down as much as possible, if he were to be seen by these two outside, then he would probably have to die with her today.
I also understood in my heart that it would be useless to leave now. We can only wait until the lightning strikes, then we can rush out and snatch back the corpse. When the lightning strikes these two things, everything will be fine.
Coincidentally, the strong gales outside just now had already stopped the thunderstorm. However, the sky was still overcast and gloomy. Seeing this situation, Wu Zhangkong counted with his fingers and then said to the two things:
"The thunder tribulation of the Thunder Clan has its own rules. If I were to strike your lightning, I'm afraid it would be at noon. There's still time. Quickly arrange a formation with me and wait for the tribulation to arrive."
It was about half past twelve in the afternoon, and I could see that there was still more than an hour left. I could only sneak around in my suitcase and watch them walk to the train station.
Thoughtless grabbed a bunch of things from the back of the pickup truck and started packing up with them. In the end, he spent nearly an hour packing up.
Seven small holes had been dug out at the entrance of the train station, and Wu Yi had placed seven broken bowls in each of them. Seven holes had formed a ring around the train station, and in the middle, a small table had been set up.
It was made of four pieces of wood, just large enough for two people to squat on. Apart from that, Thoughtless had also tied four roosters to a pillar.
These chickens seemed to already know that something big was about to happen as they continued to circle in front of the pillars. In this short period of time, the sky had started to drizzle and from time to time, a few streaks of lightning would streak across the sky.
"Listen carefully. During this great calamity, no matter what happens, you can't escape from this platform. If you don't listen to me, this deity won't be able to save you."
Wu Nian's mouth was cold as she said those words. The two nodded in agreement. Soon after, Wu Nian sat cross-legged not far away from the corpse. She put the staff into the mud and started chanting.
The time is approaching three quarters of an hour and the thunder in the sky and the rain are much more violent than before. I look down at my watch and wait for the first half minute before the lightning strikes.
"Do you think this move of ours will work?" Chen Jianshan obviously didn't know what was going on in his heart, which was why he asked me this question. Actually, even I don't know what was going on in my heart. I was only betting on his own judgment.
If this lightning really did strike at a quarter to noon, then everything would be fine. If there was a minute and a half difference, then the only difference would be that the two imps would be killed by the lightning and the two of us would be beaten to death.
In general, death was worth it.
I let out a casual laugh and got a supercilious look from Chen Jianshan.
